Denmark’s Viktor Axelsen defended his Olympic title, as he defeated the reigning world champion Kunlavut Vitidsarn of Thailand, 21-11, 21-11 in the gold medal match of the men's badminton singles at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Viktor Axelsen is now the second player after Lin Dan to win two Olympic gold in men’s badminton singles event.

When Lakshya Sen lost in semi final tge Indian commentaror said we shouldn't forget Lakshya is only 22 . But I wanna tell him that when PV SINDHU won her silver medal in Rio 2016 Olympic she was just 21 . Not critising lakshya but only telling that commentator should say he should work harder for win
Please be aware that girls tend to peak before boys so 21 vs 22 is not fair. Men usually play at a high level until late thirties, women not so much.
@@abhishekab1 which modern badminton player is playing till late 30s. Almost everyone retires at 33-34 and performance starts to decline from 30 onwards. There might be some exception but this is the general trend.

Still feel bad for Lakshya, he fought well just couldn't keep his concentration and mental peace I think, its only him who gave Axelson a tough fight, could have won that 1st set too, but don't know what happened to him, he just blanked, still there is a long way to go!!! Viktor axelsen is beast
Axelsen is a GOAT along with Lin Dan. Though occasionally he might lost to a lower ranked player in smaller tournament, he never failed to deliver in big matches. No excuses, just pure hardwork, talent, brilliant strategist and above all a very confident and yet humble guy. He will stay very competitive up till the mid to late 30s just like Lin Dan and LCW. Congrats king Viktor. :)

Sen almost got him if nit for his last minute impatience attempts loosing game points and literally getting the match to axelsen which literally the result of inexperience ..and he was actually coming from hard time from last year he was facing many struggles in terms of his mental health when his form gone intially down ..ge completely got stuck in a vicious cycle where his anxious attitude let him loose the matches and the defeat in matches made him more anxious less confident

This is victor's 3rd Olympics and his first ..lin dan lost at round 32 in his first Olympics despite being world no 1 seed thats the pressure of olympics..and vitidersan looked even worse than lakshya in controlling his nerves against victor considering its his first Olympics as well
