Leanne Blundell I agree, because when shows choose people that are "almost right" for the role, the show winds up not sticking or making it. I could not imagine anyone else playing any of those three roles, the chemistry would be all off and it wouldn't be as epic. We've seen plenty of examples of shows that are pretty entertaining and have great potential but fail because they didn't weed out the auditions quite right. It's pretty obvious that sometimes things are meant to be by how perfect they turn out.
It's uncanny the way that man can go from superspy Michael Weston to greasy hick Homer (boat repo episode with Virgil, the dirty cops and the Jamacans) in literally less than five seconds and make them both utterly believable. Quite the chameleon, that fellow. This role truly let his many talents shine their brightest.
One of my favorite lines was with the little boy, "Will you shoot Mr. Prine?" Michael: "I don't think that will be necessary." Little boy: "What if they try to kill you?" Michael: "Well, in that case, it would necessary." So understated, and such great writing.
He was so awkward too with talking to him. “Do you want to see my room?” Michael: 😯 Then the scene with him crying in Michael’s loft. Michael: Are you crying? It sounds like you’re crying. You’re not…? Okay. You are. Don’t…don’t do that.” Then he just does the little pat on his back, lol.
Jeffrey Donovan and Gabrielle Anwar are both so great. We watched the series straight through over a few months. Became addicted very quickly!!-- husband, me, and 11 year old son. Intense watching it with no commercials. Now we're missing the show terribly! We recall scenes just about every day. :) My son does the intro perfectly including Fiona's accent lol :)
This was interesting to watch! The cast for this show was spot on: chemistry, humor, action, romance, drama, stunt scenes and finally a woman who wasn't portrayed as a helpless bimbo in distress and who was feminine yet could kick ass!!! It was also refreshing to have a guy actually like a woman who challenged and intrigued him.
I just finished the show and had exactly the same thoughts. Loved how Fi was a badass but still feminine, and her and Michael were compliments and worked well together. Also, Donavan was an just an amazing actor in this.
Yes and it's also refreshing to see a badass, competent and wickedly smart male lead who has the respect of his woman and she liked that he challenged her as well. Mike and Fiona wouldn't be written as well today individually or together but that's what's special about this show and others back then.
They've picked the right people for these roles during the entire Burn Notice series & including the fall of Sam Axe was unbelievable perfect casting. & I loved the fact how some of the guest star castings came back during the show. I got into this show around season one. I watched one episode one morning. I've been a fan ever since then such a badass show.
I feel like they both use a lot of intonation in their voice and show a lot of different emotions... Which makes it so much more interesting to watch. The actors really made the show.
This guy and this show, completely underrated. I was hooked on Burn Notice. The cast, the cinematography, the storyline, the acting, was on point. I wasn't even into this type of genre. I love Mikey Weston
no worries martin ... this "audition" is all just part of Michael's deep cover... he gonna blow hollywood wide open... turns out those so called "reality" programs are all FAKE! Sad... but no worries... Michael's on it and gonna blow it all up!
He’s so intimidating then so SOFT He’s so stone solid then he’s BROKEN He’s so serious then he’s so incredibly hilarious. Truly... I mean put this man next to Tom Hiddleston and in comparison he becomes a socially inept stuttering mess of an awkward teen with an acne problem. He’s hands down got more flair and charisma than Ryan Reynolds. He’s got ten times the potential for heart-ripping performances than Benedict and David Tennant combined. This man is the most versatile, impressive, awesome, nice, and all around just GOOD actor in history. Change my mind.
Ashley Taylor hm... it’s hard to tell what kind of Marvel or dc character he could be, Mabye a Batman. Or perhaps the other versions like Mabye the crusader dude?
I was really impressed by Jason's audiion. Many people say, that they can act, and it's not that hard. But the way Jason acted in a situation where he was beeing analyzised, well, there is a real good actor. From Finland with love! a really fun show to watch!
That's because Bruce gave up on auditioning a long time ago. He finally figured after losing out on so many roles after so many auditions he wouldn't bother with a role if they didn't just offer him the part. In this case it turns out his instincts were right. Love Burn Notice!
Perfect casting! I love these two together but not 'together' and Sam and the mom! I love this show! I watch it everyday! And yes I know all the names of the cast!
Man Jeffrey just was Michael right here! There was no other choice. I haven't seen a more perfect auditions than this or the James Roday Shawn audition. Burn Notice struck gold with Donovan, Gabrielle, Bruce, Colby and Sharon!
It was such a good show. Action plus good human values. Couldn’t be made today. Michael and Fi had respect for each other. Today he’d have to be stupid and she would be wiping the floor with him.
Gabrielle Anwar hits the accent (brogue) very well--she sounds Irish. The producer/showrunner must have decided not to emphasize the characters IRA background. This was a terrific show--sorry it is gone.
I know how you feel, but at the same time, it's good that we were dignified with a conclusion. We'd all be a very different kind of sad if it had turned into some American live-action equivalent of that dead horse called Dragonball. But at the same time, it could go on forever in a good way if it was just about the side jobs. Then it might be some kind of mess without a main story arch. Alas, we will never know...
Fi... she took some getting used to. I used to think like the other guy, she annoyed the crap outta me. But, I DO understand her role as a character on Michael's life. To quote Mulan 'A girl worth fighting for' Or, In Fi's case WITH.
out of all the characters on the show, I would be afraid of Fi. being the best sniper and explosive expert. She also has that look of intimidation that would even make toughest person run.
I think Jeffrey, Gabrielle and Bruce were all perfect for their roles. Couldn't imagine anyone else as Michael, Fi and Sam.
Not necessarily. I might not have liked them at all and may never have watched the show!
Leanne Blundell I agree, because when shows choose people that are "almost right" for the role, the show winds up not sticking or making it. I could not imagine anyone else playing any of those three roles, the chemistry would be all off and it wouldn't be as epic. +Leanne Blundell Noticed you didn't mention Jesse. Did you not like him?
+Gee Willy Yes I liked Jesse and Maddie too but to me Michael, Fi and Sam are the team and its their comradery that makes Burn Notice
Leanne Blundell Couldn't agree more
He's such an underrated actor. I miss you Michael Westen! You make me want to be a spy.
you’ve got the name for it my friend 😉
haha thank you@@NonamenoHAndle000
9 years ago, you commented it
Did you became a spy?
It's uncanny the way that man can go from superspy Michael Weston to greasy hick Homer (boat repo episode with Virgil, the dirty cops and the Jamacans) in literally less than five seconds and make them both utterly believable. Quite the chameleon, that fellow. This role truly let his many talents shine their brightest.
They literally picked the most perfect person for the role ,, im starting to believe he really is a spy
my madeshift spy persona is from the show, the show I took notes on
yeah NOTES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hell yeah (original comment)
eVCephei persons* roles* ^^
Wan to watch burn notice all over again. GET THE COFFEE, it's going to be an all nighter at my house!
He used to be a spy.*
One of my favorite lines was with the little boy, "Will you shoot Mr. Prine?" Michael: "I don't think that will be necessary." Little boy: "What if they try to kill you?" Michael: "Well, in that case, it would necessary." So understated, and such great writing.
I remember that lol
He was so awkward too with talking to him. “Do you want to see my room?” Michael: 😯 Then the scene with him crying in Michael’s loft. Michael: Are you crying? It sounds like you’re crying. You’re not…? Okay. You are. Don’t…don’t do that.” Then he just does the little pat on his back, lol.
Jeffrey Donovan is an extremely underrated actor. Watch "Burn Notice" and tell me he can't do anything.
That intro is addicting lol
"Moiami"
* Whistles *
"You know Spy, bunch a bitchy little girls"
"Family too, if you're desperate..." "Hey Mike, is that your mom again?"
I really miss this show
Jeffery is such a good actor! Fucking nailed it
just finished the 7th season but feel like i can rewatch the whole thing again now
I miss Burn Notice!
One of my favourite shows too. The chemistry between Jeffrey and Gabrielle is amazing.
They made the best decision ever when they picked him for Michael Westen.
Burn Notice was actually based on Bruce's secret life and he needed no audition to play Sam.
This was interesting to watch! The cast for this show was spot on: chemistry, humor, action, romance, drama, stunt scenes and finally a woman who wasn't portrayed as a helpless bimbo in distress and who was feminine yet could kick ass!!! Jeffrey Donovan's charisma was just oozing as he did his audition. He can go from charming to menacing in 1 second flat. Man do I miss the show
They've picked the right people for these roles during the entire Burn Notice series & including the fall of Sam Axe was unbelievable perfect casting.
& I loved the fact how some of the guest star castings came back during the show. I got into this show around season one. I watched one episode one morning. I've been a fan ever since then such a badass show.
Best show ever!!!! I miss this show so much please bring it back
I've watched this show so much I've seen every episode at least 50 times I watched all 7 seasons within every two weeks u can say I'm a big fan lol
Omg! A fan... Yes... A life... No. If you watched each episode 50x.... And a all 7 seasons in 2 wks!? You need a life...
Up there as one of my all time favorite shows spanning a number of decades.
@Black Ninja kinda jealous
Too funny!! They did pick the 'right Guy'. I think it helped, that he was 'relatively' Unknown, but 'so Good'!!
I don't believe this! Who is this Jeffrey guy?! Michael Westen is real. He starred as himself in the show.
no. no he didnt
He was joking lmao
but he's not
no worries martin ... this "audition" is all just part of Michael's deep cover... he gonna blow hollywood wide open... turns out those so called "reality" programs are all FAKE! Sad... but no worries... Michael's on it and gonna blow it all up!
He wasn't joking. Google it. Michael Westen starred in one episode of Burn Notice. And it was a great episode. It had aliens.
I can picture the scenes their auditioning for in my head.
Same. Ive seen every episode at least 5 times
@@francienolan4619 yup, im at 9-10 times
I’m an AF veteran. I was recruited by THEM. But I tell you, one thing this show made me want more than anything …living in SOUTHERN FLORIDA.
He’s so intimidating then so SOFT
He’s so stone solid then he’s BROKEN
He’s so serious then he’s so incredibly hilarious.
Truly... I mean put this man next to Tom Hiddleston and in comparison he becomes a socially inept stuttering mess of an awkward teen with an acne problem.

This man is the most versatile, impressive, awesome, nice, and all around just GOOD actor in history. Change my mind.
He is criminally underrated. He's had success in his career, but he deserves much more than what he gets.
I love that Gabrielle had full on pokies during the audition, had to use that in the show
my all time favorite show!!
Donovan is amazing actor. He should play Batman :)
He could play that role especially after the episodes when he was in a black suit with a red shirt trying to save a neighborhood an the clinic
Ashley Taylor hm... it’s hard to tell what kind of Marvel or dc character he could be, Mabye a Batman. Or perhaps the other versions like Mabye the crusader dude?
I remeber her line was i cant go round miami talkin like a leprakon
These were really good auditions.
I think Fiona is very pretty for her age especially. I think they could def make a good couple in real life as well.
So glad she dropped the Irish accent in episode two. Her character's whole persona changed when she started speaking like an American.
i just started watching burn notice and i loved it
I absolutely LOVE him!!!!+❤❤
they made an EXCELLENT choice in choosing him.
He plays a freaking awesome spy =))
Re watching this show ugh it was and still is so good
I was really impressed by Jason's audiion. Many people say, that they can act, and it's not that hard. But the way Jason acted in a situation where he was beeing analyzised, well, there is a real good actor. From Finland with love! a really fun show to watch!
Immagine anyone else as Micheal Weston.
Oh thats right YOU CANT
I have never been so captivated by a tv series other than Sons of Anarchy.
He got the job after his first reading.
Jeffrey Donovan needs more movie/tv roles. He's a good actor
That's because Bruce gave up on auditioning a long time ago. He finally figured after losing out on so many roles after so many auditions he wouldn't bother with a role if they didn't just offer him the part. In this case it turns out his instincts were right. Love Burn Notice!
Oh, how I miss this show
Oh I soo wanted to see this, thank you!
Perfect casting! I love these two together but not 'together' and Sam and the mom! I love this show! I watch it everyday! And yes I know all the names of the cast!
Such a great actor
I love this show!!!!!!
i remember all this lines :) it was so long time ago i heard those lines. still waiting for season 6 to continue in november :)
Great actor, nice TV series.
Great show..looking forward to season 10
this sounds somewhat improved... that is awesome
Notice how there's no clip of Bruce Campbell? Bruce Campbell don't audition for TV shows. TV shows audition for Bruce Campbell.
"listen, there are somethings im good at, tactical analysis, hand to hand combat, im a good cook as well..." lol :)
Man Jeffrey just was Michael right here! There was no other choice. I haven't seen a more perfect auditions than this or the James Roday Shawn audition. Burn Notice struck gold with Donovan, Gabrielle, Bruce, Colby and Sharon!

this is freaking AWESOME!!!!
Perfect casting

Where... is Bruce.... Campbell!
According to Donovan during a panel with Bruce Campbell, Bruce didn't need to audition. They just offered him the role out right.
jackbrokeheart The probably found him wearing a Hawaiian shirt, drinking a mojito and hitting on a milf. Bruce Campbell is Sam Axe.
Yeah, pretty much lol
***** Apparently Bruce Campbell was given the role of Sam Axe, without tryouts...

No, she doesn't. Why do you think her "Irish" accent disappeared?
lol fiona and Michael are perfect together in the show..........but she sometimes slaps him around! :P
her accent is stronger in this

2010 Jeffrey I LOVE YOU
I need a door on this show. I only wish I knew what I needed to do to get it.....
Looks like it was cold in there...
Fi... she took some getting used to. I used to think like the other guy, she annoyed the crap outta me. But, I DO understand her role as a character on Michael's life. To quote Mulan 'A girl worth fighting for' Or, In Fi's case WITH.
he is so good cause he makes you beleieve he is the character
Burn Notice beats Bond, Jeffery Donovan is an amazing actor
@nessacheng YES! thank you! this is exactly the way i would describe it!
Netflix has Burn Notice on it, if any of you people are wondering
out of all the characters on the show, I would be afraid of Fi. being the best sniper and explosive expert. She also has that look of intimidation that would even make toughest person run.
@popsy964
I didn't realize Irish people were a "race"...I usually save that for elves, Vulcans, and furries. I thought we were all human :-).
Got to be a trick to remembering all the lines.
Cool!!!
