Lori wasn’t stalling I think she wanted to go out but felt kinda pressured by Mark to make a deal. The kid had no good response when they brought up how many similar items are on the market, the fact that he was completely unaware of this also made it an extremely unappealing investment. Surprise surprise, the deal fell through and hang ease has shut down since this episode aired. And I’m guessing he didn’t have an actual patent because if you go on Amazon there are so many other similar products.

I worked in a clothes retailer at some point and you wouldn't believe how many plastic hangs were broken in a day while clients struggled to get clothes off of them!

Because you're paying at least twice for something barely anyone cares about. Hangers are a couples bucks for like 30. Dry cleaners give you crappy ones every time for free. If you want specific hangers for shirts with buttons, you can buy a specific size hanger twice as much for half the cost. Even the sharks who invested thought it existed somewhere else but they didn't know because they don't even buy it themselves.
Don't you realize that this product existed already and that's why they were hesitant? We have these in Finland so you must have them in the US also.

Have you actually seen her portfolio plu her success. Most of her deals are success and worth Millions. Plus even tho she is the poorest she is worth 50 to 100mil. and that is not a small money. Kid asked something reasonable and good of the sharks to not negotiate anything out of him. It was so satisfying.
Barbara seems to give the dumbest reasons for dropping out when in reality she just doesn't want to risk the money. Especially since she has the least money of all the sharks. Often she contradicts herself across the various episodes. Such as complaining the entrepreneurs aren't passionate enough but then in another episode she says there has to be more than passion for your product. In this case he was supposed to create a business in 3rd grade or just forget it. He could of easily not even mentioned that and she would have had to make up another lame excuse!
