The guy with the higher pitch is Kang Hyung-ho… You should check out his version of „The phantom of the opera“ 😆 But they are all equally talented and have a unique and distinctive voice.

Great reaction!. The show is called the Immortal songs. Talented performers are invited to the show based on the theme each week. They usually honor songs of legends who have made a mark in the music industry. The performers cover one of their songs . A winner is selected each week by the audience. Twice a year the winners compete on the “ King of Kings” competition. They are free to cover any song . And a winner is selected. This was a winning performance by forrestella . They earned a spot on the King of Kings 8 times and won it 6 times consecutively. They are the best of the best!!

I guess Woorim's bass stands out because people who usually don't listen to classical/opera, are more exposed to tenors and baritones in other music genres. He and the mid-range tenor (Mingyu) are opera singers, and very highly qualified at that, graduating from one of the best universities in Korea. The countertenor/male soprano (Hyungho) has actually never learnt singing professionally, he worked as a research chemist at a big company before joining the singing competition Forestella came together in. The fourth member, whose voice is kind of baritenor (Doohoon), he is a musical actor.
This show is called Immortal Songs 2: Singing the Legends. It's a friendly competition but the participants are all established acts. They compete for a trophy and each week there's usually a theme whereby they all sing something from the song catalogue of the same famous artist. Often the 'legendary artist' will visit the show and enjoy seeing how their hits are interpreted. The beauty of it is in seeing how the songs get covered , often in new and very different arrangements from the original. Forestella holds the record of most consecutive wins on the King of Kings special of the show, with 6 overall wins. EDIT the audience votes for the winner. People in the green room are either the hosts or other competitors, and they have a lot of fun interactions which are part of the show in between the songs.
Now that you have heard these 2 songs, the next one should be “Shape of you” (Ed Sheeran), they have done something magical with this one. Any of their songs is beautiful; they sing in any genre, so some songs are more operatic “Parla Piu Piano”, “Nella Fantasia”, some are old favorites; “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “My favorite things”, “Time in a bottle”, “Scarborough fair”, “Je suis malade”; some are eclectic, “Inner Universe”; balads; “Angels”, “Silk on my heart”; just released in the last weeks is “Legends never die”, and finally they also have their own originals, “Save our lives”, “For Life”, “White Nights”, and “Utopia”, this last one is very special. This is the short list as they are very prolific and have a long list of very loved songs. Also to be noted is that they sing in many languages always with perfect pronunciation. Surprisingly, despite their beautiful English, only Mingyu speaks it somewhat, Woorim (the deep base you like), speaks a little, and the other 2 not. Yet you wouldn’t be able to tell!
