    The device has a 1-minute buffer and won't send anything to the bridge as long as its state has not changed locally (to save battery). So, when you set the channel to turn off after 10 seconds, the motion sensor is still in the "occupied" state (not "clear" state) and won't update the bridge unless its status changes. So if you keep waving your hand in front of it (even for hours), it will keep its state in the "occupied" state and won't send any info to the bridge (hence no triggering).

      Yes this is called "cooling time" and all motion sensors have it. Some sensors like IKEA take 3 minutes before they can detect motion again. Some have it configurable. Its a hardware limitation most of the time.

    "Due to power consumption and power-saving considerations, there have some restrictions on the trigger
    That is: when SNZB-03 detects the movement, it will send a signal to ZBBridge
    If the device does not detect any movement for one minute, once the device triggered, it will send a signal to ZBBridge
    If any movement is detected within one minute, the device will not send a trigger to ZBBridge. And effective detection and trigger signals to ZBBridge will be delayed for one minute. It means the motion sensor works with one-minute intervals."

      exactly what I was looking for.. was wandering why i couldnt turn off a light immediately i.e. 10 seconds after motion detected ceased. Anyway to get around this? I literally want it to turn on and off a light for 10-15 secs . A min is actually way overkill for this purpose.. Yep noob here. Thanks!

    I just tested the sensor and on my testing the delay for “no motion” is 60s. So if you want more time fo the light or device that you want to control with motion for more time active i did a delay for “no motion” status of 15s and the lamp turned off in 1.15min so if you want more time just ad the time + 60s for the delay

    Can you set up 2 motion sensors on a staircase so they can act like a two way switch?
    For example: When I go down, first sensor turns on the light, when I rich down in the second sensor area, I would like the light stays on. Is this possible with scene settings in ZigBee bridge?
    Thanks and greetings from Cluj Napoca

    • @csongorvarga
      @csongorvarga  3 роки тому +2

      Yes, with two sensors and a bridge. And set up a scene where either of two motion sensor is triggered a light comes on and goes off after e.g. 5 minutes. It will not be exactly 5 minutes after the last motion detection because subsequent motion detection does not restart the counter, but if you set it to a few minutes it would be enough anyway.

      It is definitely not IP protected but if you can keep it off direct water it should be fine. I don't know about Smartthings never used that. Internet connection depends. If you are using it with the Sonoff app, you need internet connection. But if you have a local home automation solution that handles the logic locally do don't.

      I am not sure how well third party devices work with SonOff. I have heard some mixed results.
      To pair the Hue Sensor with a third party bridge, you just delete it from the Hue Bridge, then use a pin in the RESET hole, holding it for about ten seconds (The LED on the Hue Sensor will go green). When you release it, the LED will flash green/orange and pair with a third party device. Same with the Hue Dimmer switches.
      Hue Globes need to be reset with a Dimmer switch, then they pair with third party hubs as well.

      @@csongorvarga Okay!! Does it turn off the light when you get away from the Sensor? as per Sonoff SNZB-03 This device has a mechanism.
      This product detects a moving object, then it will send an alert message, and it will go to sleep after 1 minute
      If the monitored object has been moving, the alarm information will be sent every 1 minute.

      @csongorvarga  3 роки тому

      I did not try, and I am not sure it will work. All I have tested is connecting other motion, door and temperature sensors to the bridge. Sonoff understands what a door sensor is, what a motion sensor is, even if it is coming from a non-Sonoff modell. This is why I think it will not do anything with the smoke sensor. The device will pair, but the app will not show any data, and you would not be able to use it in automation. In best case scenario it will act like a switch, so when smoke detected it will act as a switch has been turned on. But I really have no idea.
