    I solved the flow problem by mounting it horizontally.

      I’m having a problem with power of the output . Thank you for your suggestion, I’ll try it horizontally ✨

      you are welcome! you can check other youtuber's review as well. but in my personal experience, as you saw in the video, the sand kept on getting blown away.

    good video how much are they to buy as i have two super fish and i like the water flowing outwards not downwards i do agree with you they should change the bottom on it what do you think about having them built in to your hang on the back filter i have a seachem with one built in and a allpond filter built in with uv light built in

      around 33GBP I think. yeah, it being smaller and more compact proved useless since you can't use on smaller Aquascapes. Once I see Oase selling spare parts for it I might try a DIY version where I drill a hole and cover the old ones

    Nice review 👏❤️
    I was wondering what was the direction of the outflow. Thanks to you I know it will be a problem for my tank wich is not deep enough. Hope they will make an update thanks to your smart notification about this. I actually use a diy one I made with a small pump, it's very efficient but not so nice 😅

    The downward outflow is a major oversight.

    • @AquaristForFun
      @AquaristForFun  2 роки тому +1

      yeah, I'm not sure if they just wanted to be different from the crowd or trying to maintain a certain aesthetic or just plain oversight and them catering to just plain aquarium fish keeping and not AQUASCAPING

      Yeah, it’s a shame. I just stumbled across this while browsing and was immediately intrigued since I use surface skimmers and I use oase products including my favorite thermosmart canisters. That led me to Google search the product and in turn led me here. I won’t be using it unfortunately. It’s so sleek and appears to function very well. Hope they do update an attachment to redirect flow outwards. Thanks for the video!

      They did it for a reason. You already have horizontal flow from your filter. You however lack vertical and suffer dead spots in corner of tank.

    is it easy to clean out plant debris after a big Monte Carlo trimming session?

    • @AquaristForFun
      @AquaristForFun  2 роки тому

      yes, in a way. if you have the guard on, most of the debri will float right in the middle of the skimmer, all you need to do now is to scoop it up. I have a Hemianthus cuba on this scape and its really helpful for those trimming sessions

    I agree that it is a very bad feature that the water does not come out horizontally.
    I think producing 3d parts will solve the problem.
    If I had learnt about this feature earlier, I would have bought another brand.
    The appearance deceived me.

    The downward flow is a bummer for a nano tank

      very true. I was actually excited because it was a lot slimmer and smaller than Eheim's. But then all of its good attributes proved useless since you can't use it on small Aquascapes

    Is this skimmer safe for dwarf shrimp?

    • @AquaristForFun
      @AquaristForFun  Рік тому

      yes, much better than other products out there but not perfect. Instead of seeing 5 to 10 shrimps every week, you'll probably see 1-3 per month

    You know, the flow direction is freaking horrible, BUT I'm thinking of getting it anyway and just glue the bottom to block the flow and use a drill to open a hole for the flow to be horizontal 😅

    • @AquaristForFun
      @AquaristForFun  Рік тому +1

      Yeah, that's exactly what i wanted to do. Specifically, i wanted to 3d print a proper one. It's just I'm really really busy IRL at the moment

    • @antonije
      @antonije Рік тому

      @@AquaristForFun Oh yeah I would have 3d printed that part, but unfortunately I don't have a 3d printer :)

      OOOOoooh, sorry not familiar with the brand. From the brand name, probably a Salt-water centric brand?? and I haven't dabbled in the wonderful world of Marine tanks yet.
