I bought one of these new when they were in stores. Mine has the lifetime maps option and overall is an ok GPS unit except for the odd time it seems to get confused with a portion of a route but I have fixed this by using waypoints to navigate to the destination. My current vehicle has the Nav feature so I will occasionally use both just to see if they are in sync. The thing I have noticed with the three Garmin GPS units I have is the confusion with the route they all suffer from, but if you are depending on these to get you to your destination, they eventually will albeit in a round about way sometimes.
Just got a mint unit at Goodwill for $8. Ran all updates and works great, could probably use a a battery. Even came with a nice carry case and accessories 👍
If you do get another battery from eBay, be sure to get Cameron Sino brand (you'll see it on the battery sticker). It's slightly more expensive but worth it. I've had better luck with those compared to the cheaper stuff. A generic search on eBay for "garmin nuvi 2555 battery" should bring them up. They have 1200mAh which is a huge upgrade over the original.
Heard a lot of good things about this model and i am thinking about buy one from eBay which is currently selling between $25-$35 depending on condition. Th eonly complain i heard is that it has very limited internal memory that may max out after 3-4 map updates, so i was wondering if you might know what is the maximum micro SD memory card it will handle? Is it 32GB, 64 GB or 128 GB?
Buying one of these b/c I’m importing a Japanese mini truck that I will lift and put on bigger tires (So the speedometer in vehicle won’t be accurate).
