It’s so sad that World Cup was remembered for the head butt. Zidane was a free agent and just had to wrap up a last World Cup. He was absolutely phenomenal. Fun Fact: Football was banned in England during medieval times because the knights would prefer to play the game instead of doing their job. This shows how wonderful game football is. At least this would be first known dark age for the game.
Modern football wasn’t even invented in the medieval times ? The style of football we watch now was invented in 1872/73 by the FA in southern England where the players were not allowed to use their hands anymore . What are you Even talking about - medieval times 😂😂

Modern football wasn't born in 1863. The football culture and game we know today, with leagues, cup competitions, paying customers, paid players, playing almost identical rules to today's game started in Sheffield in the 1860's. By the end of the 1860's there were 49 organised clubs playing in Sheffield. It was a delegate from Sheffield that were invited down to London helping the English FA to agree the rules, nearly all the Sheffield rules were amalgamated into the code of play. What is strange is that the Cambridge University rules and the Sheffield rules were almost identical, so which came first? Suspect some graduates from Cambridge University were Sheffield based and returned to Sheffield with ideas. The success of the cup competitions held in Sheffield (The Yourdan and Cromwell cups) were the early inspiration behind the English FA starting the FA cup knockout competition. A Sheffield firm even manufactured the 1st ever FA cup. Don't believe me? Plenty of proof can be seen on the "Sheffield The Home of Football" UA-cam channel. This channel correctly discusses semantics, regards 'what is a club"? "what defines modern football?"

Football was created in Cambridge in 1840. It’s not really a “debate”.
There’s a monument on Parker’s piece in Cambridge that celebrates the first game in 1840. The museum of football in Manchester also confirms this, as does the FA.
In fact the rules written at Cambridge are on display and dated.

1840. Cambridge University invented the sport of football.
Kicking something with your foot may have happened since the beginning of time, but football was first played in 1840 on Parker’s Piece, Cambridge, England. These rules were written down and now exist in the Football Museum, Manchester.

Origins of football in England
Football, in some form or another, has been played in England for centuries. The earliest known references to football in England date back to the medieval period, when the game was played with a ball made of inflated animal bladders and was known as “futball.”
It was created in anglo saxon England and used to be called futball. It was one of the most popular sport played at events hosted by kingdoms. One of the only games that could be played with teams made up of nobles and peasants followed only by cricket another game that began with the anglo saxons.
I only had to google where did football begin in google to get these answers almost all articles had the same answer worded differently. The chinese did not make football at all it was introduced to them when the British empire invaded them. When the game was an already established league sport.
Bare knuckle boxing and wrestling called Pugilism was also created by the anglo saxons they got it fron unarmed combat wrestling fights the romans used to hold in gladiator arenas.
China has nothing to do with the creation of football thats entirely an anglo saxon invention.
Rugby, cricket, rounders, badminton, golf, field hockey, tennis all sports invented by the English in the early medieval times.
