That Zweig is amazing! You always have the best fit with your sweaters 😊 Enjoy your trip to the yarn festival - great choice to stay an extra night! I love the story of your mantle- that’s so fun ❤
Your Zweig is beautiful on you. Love the colour choice you made, and the tip about putting the right colour up against your face! Thanks for another great podcast! Your mantle story made me chuckle. 😊

I love the story of your mantle. I have done the same thing a few times with free stuff in the lane. Definitely someone’s treasure! Very nice job on your sweater too.
I love your Zweig so much Sophie! It looks so amazing on you and I love the colour combination you have chosen! The story about your fireplace find is so fun, I would totally have wanted to take it home too, and yay for being published in a magazine 💗 It’s been so lovely to spend some time with you and I hope you and your family have a lovely Easter!

Allo Sophie! Yes, Alley Cat Yarns is in Ottawa. She lives not even 10 min from me and she's fabulous. You did a beautiful sweater, love the colour combo. Everything that you showed is gorgeous and great story time!
Thanks for another great episode. Your Zweig is beautiful, and those colors! I'm still smiling over your mantle story.....love it. See you at the Fiddlehead Fibre festival! 😊
Aw thanks for Tuning in again!! so glad you enjoyed the story! I get a kick out of it every time I think of it LOL! Yay!! Can't wait for Fiddlehead!! Happy knitting!!🧶🥰
What a lovely story of your mantle. You should show the former owner and builder of it the picture to let him know how much his woodwork is still appreciated. Happy Easter
Happy Easter!! I've thought of doing just that! I'll inquire if he is still the owner of the house. Thank you so much for tuning in and have a wonderful weekend! Happy knitting! 🥰🧶
Sophie, your Zweig is STUNNING on you!! Between you and Leanne, I'm feeling the need to make this 😍🙈 Loved hearing about your treasure of a fireplace mantle and your picture winding up in the magazine!! That's sooo cool and I LOVE your mantle! We are casually looking at houses right now and one of my top priorities is finding a house with a fireplace and mantle 😂Thanks as always for the inspiration and hope you had a blast at the Fiddlehead Fibre Festival!! 🤗💕
Nikki! I'm so sorry on the late reply! house hunting is so exciting!! and having a mantel, may it be real or faux like mine is just so much fun to decorate and display some little treasures. Good luck in the hunt! xo
I just finished watching your podcast, this was my first time watching. I loved your podcast, I think you do a very nice job and will watch more. I wish you lived close to me with your enthusiasm about getting together with friends to knit and all the projects you want to work on. Thank you for podcasting. You should be proud about your mantel and the photo in the Country Sampler.
Oh I'm so so happy to hear you enjoyed the podcast! There is sooo much inspiration and gorgeous patterns out there, it's really hard for me to not cast on all the things! 😂 And my Mantel is one of my favorite things in my house! It has brought be so much joy in decorating it throughout the years. Thank you so much for taking the time and leaving a comment! Happy knitting!! 🥰🧶
You made my Monday! I had the chance to sit here in the peace and quiet, drink my coffee, and knit along with you. My face hurts from smiling. Can't wait to meet you in-person at some point. LOVE your projects! The Zweig is 10/10. The booby socks! That mantle story is epic. You are a published decorator! I've brought home tables from back alleys... much to the chagrin of my husband. :P Have fun at the Fibre Festival... oh how I wish I could attend.
My face is hurting from smiling as well. Both of your podcasts make me laugh and smile along, while sitting and knitting in my living room. Such a funny, but amazing, connection. I wish you could come to the Fiddlehead Fibre Festival as well. No flights into Florenceville?!!
Aww Leanne are you too sweet!! ❤❤ we will meet for SURE in person!! It’s just a must! 🥰 I absolutely love rescuing and reusing furniture! 😂 sometimes my husband is in agreement and other times he thinks im crazy! 😂. I’ll take some footage of the festival and shenanigans! I wish you a wonderful week and looking forward to your next episode!! ❤❤
Hi Sophie, wishing you a happy Easter and I enjoyed the story. Your sweater really suits you, love the socks and that shawl is going to look awesome. Hugs ❤❤❤
Loved the story of your mantle! I loved the socks for breast cancer month too and I would love to get the yarn as well. I gave yarn indulgences a follow!
omy goodness that would be soooo cute! That is a wonderful idea!! I might just try to do that! 🧦Thank you so so much for watching and have a great weekend. Happy knitting! 🥰🧶
Such a cute story! Your Zweig is gorgeous- I made a short sleeve version with wool cotton yarn and it’s a great spring/fall sweater. I totally agree fingering weight sweaters are the best. Have a wonderful Easter!
Un autre super episode! Love all the things. Ton histoire de mantle 😂😂😂 Love it!! Pi la j'ai un craving de biscuits pas cuits. Je vais en faire pour Paques. 😊
Thanks for the info! I will go back and check for the worsted. At the time we placed the order, I think the worsted did not have that color available. But will definitely keep an eye out for it and their sales! Thank you so much for watching! 🥰🧶
Your mantle story is just the coolest! 😊. Your Zweig fits you perfectly! And is definitely your color. Wonderful episode as always and I’ve so enjoyed it on this Monday night. TY ❤
Aww thank you so much for the sweet comment and for watching! Mondays are not my favorite lol. So if I brought you some joy then I'm Happy! Happy knitting!!🧶🥰
Your Zweig is beautiful I love the colors . I had this in my favourite for a while but not all the Ravelry projects are as nice as yours. Now I want one
Thank you so much! Sometimes I like a pattern but when I see it in colors that I love, I just see it in a whole different way! You will have to keep me posted if you cast one on!! Thank you so much for watching and Happy knitting!! 🧶🥰
Love your Zweig. I just finished mine last week before I left for vacation. I also was able to use stash yarn that I had from the mystery shawl that I didn’t end up doing. The only things I changed is I did 3/4 sleeves and I didn’t do the cables in the body. I really want to make another. It’s a beautiful pattern.
Oh yay! Congrats on finishing your Zweig too!🙌 It's such a great pattern and fun to add that special color in the yoke!! I almost went with 3/4 length sleeves as well which is what I normally do, but I thought I'd try the full length for this time. might do like you if I do make it again (which is a very high possibility!). Thank you so much for watching and happy knitting!! 🧶🥰
Thank you for keeping me company while I am knitting on the breaking dawn shawl. Love the colors you have chosen for your shawl and I look forward to seeing it knit up! What a beautiful Zweig! Perfect colors! Thank you again for a great episode!!
Aw thank you so much for watching! I can't wait to see your shawl! it's such a lovely pattern. Love seeing everyone's version of it! Have a wonderful weekend and happy knitting! 🥰🧶
Your Zweig is beautiful! I'll have to check...I may have yarn for one 😊. As I'm watching, I'm frogging a colour-work sweater that was almost finished. I really didnt like certain aspects of the pattern...and the yarn almost matches my skin tone...so, thank you for the idea of having a neckline in a different colour 😊.
Oh Ripping back a sweater (especially a colorwork one) is so hard. So I applaud you for doing it!! really no use in continuing with it if you were not in love with it. But it's such a difficult decision to make!! There are so many lighter colors that I love but shy away from cause they are too light for my complexion. With the Zweig i could get away with it! You will have to keep me posted on your Zweig!! Love seeing amazing color combos! Thank you so so much for watching, and happy knitting!! 🥰🧶
Thank you for the great episode. I love all your projects. The hay stack cookies remind me of the recipe a Franco-Ontarian friend shared with me in high school. We had a different name for them, sh** piles, lol. In my defence we were young and bit crude. The cookies were delicious in spite of their name. May I use your recipe? I am feeling nostalgic for these treats. :)
bahaha Omygosh I looove that name for those cookies! 😂(I know I'm a kid at heart!) Let me know if you try them out! there are tons of recipes out there for them... this one worked out for me so thought I'd share. Thank you so so much for watching! Have a great weekend and Happy knitting! 🧶🥰
Your Zweig is beautiful! You are very talented at picking colours that really suit you. Enjoy the Fiddlehead fibre fest and especially enjoy the time with your knitting buddies!
Careful of the knit picks upcycle alpaca blend. I bought a tonne of it on sale a few months back, made a sweater and loved working with it. Love the drape, love the fit of the sweater, colour…. Everything about it. Blocked it in wool wash…. And I cannot wear the sweater even with a long sleeve shirt underneath. ITCHY!!!!!!AF!!!! 🫤 and I’m not particularly sensitive. I never saw it coming. I rubbed it on my neck as I was knitting and thought it was soft. It felt so nice while I was knitting with it. I have no idea what I’ll do with the sweater or all the yarn I bought. Hope it doesn’t happen with yours
sorry for the late reply! but I just wanted to thank you! for the info on the Upcycle yarn! I'm definitely going to be cautious with it! After thinking on it for a bit, I might just try to make a garment on it's own with it. But will keep an eye on how it reacts after blocking for sure. Thank you so much for watching!
Your Zweig is lovely. Do you have a link to a video that shows how to make this particular cable stitch?? I tried to find one and unfortunately, my brain could not work out the written instruction. 😬🫣
Thank you! That is something I completely forgot to talk about! I did not do Helical knitting because oh the cables. I would have been too confused lol. But i did alternate skein. I would knit 1 row then drop the yarn forward and knit another row with the second skein. I did this on the side under the armpit. And repeated this throughout the body. Hope this helps! 😊
That Zweig is amazing! You always have the best fit with your sweaters 😊 Enjoy your trip to the yarn festival - great choice to stay an extra night! I love the story of your mantle- that’s so fun ❤
