Im currently using it for a guitar im refinishing. Specifically the gloss clear enamel. The low output wnd horizontal settings are workint just great. Give the clear enamels on those two settings a try before you give up on em, you might also have good luck with them.
I was thinking how nice it must be to pay $8.00 , I have not seen the 5 spray tip for price but the standard can is right around $13.00 -$14.00 🇨🇦 for the brand name sprays.
Thank you, here is a mixing video I made a while back. If you have any questions let me know! Ill put the link below!!! ua-cam.com/video/DsFpDyjsIvY/v-deo.html
I happened across that multi-nozzle version a couple of weeks ago and because it was the only one my local hardware shop had, I bought it because I wanted a good satin black. Painting a firewall after sanding some surface rust - and a wee bit that looked a touch scaly but actually wasn't hurting the metal underneath - off, I treated the rust and then hit it with the Rustoleum product. Started with #2 because it says it was "standard", but I got a case of the runs....and figured if my inspection guy didn't like a touch of surface rust (he had told me that they wouldn't pass the car until it was fixed - talk about picky rules in this country) he would probably complain about the paint job too, so I cleaned it off and started again with #3. Much better. I was able to regulate exactly how much went onto the areas I was painting and dust in close to the master cylinder and brake pipes while only getting a few spots on them instead of an actual "coat" like happens with a normal rattle can if the nozzle isn't exactly pointing where you think it is. Getting the paint into a couple of crevasses was easier with #3 too because I could adjust my aim a bit before causing a run on the firewall next to where I wanted the paint to go. Personally, I thought it was a gimmick that would turn out to be a pain in the rear, but I was quite impressed with the result. I too would use #4 quite a bit on projects, but #3 was great for little stop / start areas and putting a lighter coat on. The proof in the pudding will be when I go to use the can again and the nozzles are all clear, because if not, I wouldn't be recommending it. (Yes, I did wipe them off, but I won't see if the spray pattern is still the same until I use it next and any residual paint will have dried inside the nozzles) Wish I could help with the blue you are looking for. It looks similar to a British Leyland colour called French Blue, which I am going to have made up for me and put into a spray can so I can touch up my Triumph Stag's paintwork in some areas. One place I know of over here will scan your paint and mix up a can (quart / gallon or spray) of the colour for you. I'm picking if little old New Zealand has them, then you'd have them in the States, so maybe taking the fender for a drive to see a bloke in one of those shops would solve the issue for you. Yeah - it might be a bit more coin to shell out for the service, but as a last resort (as it is for me and my car's 50-year-old colour scheme) it's not a bad solution to get exactly what you want. Really enjoying your current series on spray bombs and what you can do with the product. All the best!
I’ve had good luck matching that blue with the dupli color engine enamel. There is a few different shades of blue to choose from. I think the Chrysler blue is real close.
personally have disliked the newer cans since they had the multi angle that allowed you to spray the cans upsides down because now you have to remove the nozzle and soak them to keep them clog free. you use to be able to flip them and spray aerosol out and that would clean the nozzle before storage.
Gonna try these out. I heard the 5 in 1 cap fits on the cheaper non 5 in 1 cans. So you could save money by buying one 5 in 1 can and just reusing the cap.
$8 with conversion rate for me in cape town. Works out to around the same. Yeah daaam its getting pricey and I'm gana need around 10 cans to give my car a good think coat.
After you first use their paints and it sits for a few months, or a year, it seems to lose its compression. I've lost many spray cans and try to buy Krylon instead.
i bought 2 of these cans today, both cans started to spray then stopped, I couldn't get either one to spray again. They're junk!!! Will be bringing back to the store for a refund
Thank you for this post. BTY, at Home Depot "on sale" (Sept 26, 2024) for $6.98. Without the 1,2,3,4,5 wheel, it's $6.45,,,, outrageous, but Rust-Oleum probably is making more profit and setting up golden parachute retirement benefits for the top executives. I blame it all on Covid, as all the whining made companies able to charge whatever they wanted and no one could complain. After Covid, heck, why not make things even more expensive? Seems to be working as it makes life difficult for millions..

They'll hold up great as long as there not in the sun
I'm doing the same on a guitar and I'm liking the #4
seem ok hope they release over here in europe and i wish i paid 8 dollars more like 19 here john uk
Man thats crazy, a couple years ago we paid $5.00 a can lol

I just bought 36 Cans just bc they were on sale for a little over $2 a can, just watching video to see if there worth a dang
Man you got a smoking deal!!! I like the 5 way cans but you have to carry a rag to wipe the nozzle off every now and then!

Awesome, thanks for the tip. I'll try that #3 more. Thanks for watching!
2 definitely seemed more powerful than 1?
Yeah I think it is. I like 4 pretty good
the spray tip fits on a regular Rust-Oleum can. you can buy just one and reuse it
That's a great idea!!!!
I was wondering if those were any good. Thanks for sharing buddy!
Man I was pretty impressed, someone said you can put this cap on older cans, not sure. Thanks Spanky for the support!!!
I’ve had good luck matching that blue with the dupli color engine enamel. There is a few different shades of blue to choose from. I think the Chrysler blue is real close.
Thank you, ill give that a shot!!
How does the atomization on the number 4 setting compare to the Rostoleum Turbo Can?
It is alot more controllable than the turbo can!
Advance auto in Stallings NC can mix a color match and put it in a spray can
Thanks i may try to get up with them!!!
Yes the 5 in 1 caps are interchangeable with other colors not available in the multi cap.
Thanks for the tip!!!!

Yeah know, I soak mine in mineral spirits, it helps

Never thought about that, thanks for the tip, definitely trying that!!
Update on the cap switching?
@@BillySwetnam it works
2 cans of maui blue in this 5 in 1 nozzle style can and both stopped working after 15 seconds
I wonder if you can pop the tops off and put one of the old tips on there
Just bough a can of this for a project im watching you so i don't screw up the multi nozzle thing i'll let you do it for me,, Kidding. . MAYBE 😂
Hahaha the number 4 is my favorite!!!
Rustoleum make a Peaceful Blue and it comes in those 5 top cans too
Awesome Ill look for that!!

Yeah that ill be pricey

Thanks for the tip!!!!!
That's an easy fix just add compressed air theres many videos you can look it up. Saved me 100's of Cans
I painted my van with Rust-Oleum 5-1. It worked fine until a brand new can druled between the top and selector knob. Ruined the completed hood.
Yeah that's the down fall of those cans they will make a mess. I found that if you carry a rag and wipe it off every now and then it helps!!!!
Maybe I’ll see you in Austin.
Awesome hope to meet ya there!!
i bought 2 of these cans today, both cans started to spray then stopped, I couldn't get either one to spray again. They're junk!!! Will be bringing back to the store for a refund
That stinks, I keep a cup of mineral spirits on hand to let the cap soak in for a few minutes and it will unclog it alot of the time!!
@@ACDesignsGarageThey only have a couple colours where I live, do you know if u can take the cap off and put it on one of their standard cans?

Thank you for watching, I want to see them 1.99 cans again!!!!
clogs up and it takes two hands to push the spray button...not always consistent color sprays...it is the worst in my opinion....for eight dollars
I just bought 1 and WASTE OF MONEY and will not spray anything at all…. I hate this new nozzle!!!! DO NOT BUU IT
I was using muai blue with the 5 dial paint and at first it worked great went to put the 2nd coat on and it won't spray anything from any of the dials
