Prefer to start a curve with about ten inches of straight track. Mark where the flex track naturally begins easement and use radius tool only for about 3/4th of curve. Like real railroad practice.
@Dean's N-Scale Trains never mind when the roadbed was cork they would cut the bevel down the middle. I have that same roadbed, and the bevels are cut on the ends without having to join the two pieces as in days of old. Carry on 😇🙏
Oh, I see. I don't cut the foam roadbed in two. I leave it together and I can form it to the relatively broad curves I use. the roadbed has a bevel on both sides that I leave.
I’ve heard that from others. I’m planning on using it for my next small railroad. See the video on “My Next Small Scale Railroad…” that I just posted for the plan.
Thank you for sharing your ideas and tips for building a model train layout. I'm learning a lot.
Awesome Video Dean! I'm excited to see where this project goes! I learned alot from this video!
Thanks! Glad you're getting something usable out of the series.

where do you buy these kits?
I bought the Atlas track and the Woodland Scenic roadbed from Amazon, but there are lots of other sources.
Say, it didn't look like you put beveled sides out ?
I don't understand. Beveled sides to what?
