Incredible work. Congrats on the final look. I do wish you did more landscapes with the use of pastel pencils. Finding a UA-cam artist that focuses on landscapes is not that easy. Seems everyone wants to do animals. As I love animals, they are in no way my favorite thing to do. Do you have any plans to do more landscapes?
Thanks for such a great demo. I’m in the middle of a seascape at the moment and this was really useful. Hope you’ll do some more seascapes / landscapes in the future - there are only a few pastel artists on UA-cam who demo landscape realism and this was really exciting to see.
I'm so happy this video was useful for you! I have more seascapes / landscapes coming in the very near future here on UA-cam & Patreon. Thanks so much for watching & the lovely comment :)
What a beautiful rendition! The sky turned out so much more beautiful than the iPad shot. I know that it takes a lot more time than the couple of minutes showing here. Thank you for sharing your work. Sometimes for those really dark dark ocean colors that look black I use black and the darkest Schminke indigo pastel. I know that they are very soft but somehow even if mixed with the harder black the blend looks like it has more dimension when going to your next color. Pastel costs have really risen but I haven’t found anything comparable to the indigos from Schminke and I use whatever brand that works and I also use black. Blending softer and harder brands and their pigments takes a bit of time to find one’s favorites and they are rather subjective to each artist. Thank you again for sharing your work!😊
Thanks for watching, glad you like it! I used Pastelmat paper dark grey. I always just use black if an area is black, I think thats fine with soft pastels. I can understand the benefit of not using pure black with oil paints though, but just do what works for you!
Thank you! I suppose there is no wrong or right place to start, wherever feels most comfortable for you. I think I just wanted to get the sea horizon drawn in ASAP 😊
Wow this amazing thank you for sharing. I am interested in how you are drawing on the wall as I am about to build a studio and looking for ideas. How is the paper attached and to what. Also what size is the paper.Thank you in advance
Hi Janice, this is just a wall with french cleats on. The back of my drawing boards also have a french cleat wood slab on so that I can attach it to the wall 😊 i think the paper size here is 30x60cm, attached with brown kraft tape
Thank you! The pencils are really helpful for those fine details, it depends what style you’re going for. If you’re wanting to create realistic drawings, you probably need pencil refinements too 😊
the water look so good, like having a a dreamy effect
Thanks! I appreciate that ❤️
Beautiful

Thank you for watching! I agree, I don’t often see many in soft pastel. I do plan to create a lot more, excited to come up with some ideas 😊

Breathing piece beautiful
Very dramatic painting. Good to see you’re using black. So many UA-cam artists are dead set against black. What paper did you use? Thanks.

Absolutely stunning. Only one question: Won't it be easier if you started from the top?

@@shaymusart thank you so much for the information. It looks great and a good idea 👍😊
Great work! Truly awesome, I just have a query ,what if I use just soft pastels and not the pencil colours ,will the output still be the same?

🤩🤩🤩
I noticed that you have a monitor by your side that you see when you're painting a dog. Where can I get me one of those and what's the price of one.
So beautiful ❤❤❤looking forward seeing more of your videos
