Meet our first Inspector, Max Glomsda, as he travels to the present time and discovers our history. TÜV Rheinland celebrates its 150-year anniversary in 2022. This anniversary chronicle follows our first inspector on his journey through time from 1872 to 2022.
Since 1827, we have developed from a one-employee non-profit society in Elberfeld/Barmen into a global company with over 20.000 employees.
It began with the inspection of steam engines, and grew to inspection, testing and certification of industrial plants, automobiles, medical devices, toys and much more on five continents.
Our very first employee was Max Glomsda - the first TÜV Rheinland inspector. This video chronicle brings him to TÜV Rheinland’s Cologne campus and to the present day. In a journey through time, you will discover with him where TÜV Rheinland came from, how it has developed and what our expectations are for the future. Happy anniversary, dear Max!
