One part here is confusing: at 4:51 he says under the Backup tab that if he unchecks both of these boxes then it will fallback to using forever forward incrementals; however, then he says, so if he checks either one of these boxes then he will then be using forever forward incrementals. This doesn't make sense. He's seemingly trying to differentiate between the two, but then says they do the exact same thing. I'm assuming he misspoke, but now I don't know which one does the forever forward incrementals.
Hi there. We've updated this video with the latest edition of Veeam Backup & Replication. It can be seen here: ua-cam.com/video/3Gof5dQxNBI/v-deo.htmlsi=KvU3rzAHyM89R0xF Hopefully this clears up any confusion you may have. If not, feel free to reach back out and we'll get someone to help you.
Hello Liauw, any VM that meets the requirements here can be backed up on any supported Hypervisor: helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/platform_support.html?ver=110#vms Please note though that for specific applications, we only have integrations with the following: helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/system_requirements.html?ver=110#supported-applications If Firebird SQL has a VSS writer (Windows), it will be backed up consistently. If it does not (or if you're on linux), you will need to consult the vendor documentation for your app for needed steps to quiesce the database for backup.
I've watched nearly all of these instructional videos, but despite the quality presentation, I'm so lost trying to understand this software that it makes me regret my entire IT career.
Hi Darren. We're sorry to hear that, Veeam should be easy to setup. Is there anything in particular we can help with to get you started? We have different learning materials that we can share. Moreover, you can join the community.veeam.com/ Resource Hub and post your questions there. Our community will definitely help you.
Woah man, don't say that!!! nothing in this life is easy. Everything with time and practice and repetition and patience becomes easier!! You have so much support go to forums, write emails, call tech support pay someone etc.. however if you don't have the patience after all then don't do it.
No, it is just the way these presenters talk has an example--- forever forward incremental just sounds like someone is very intelligent especially if they are a consultant half of these videos are made to do just that put you off so you can hire them.
This is the kind of training segment where you have to wonder whether the presenter and content developer have any idea what the product does, and the ramifications of various options. Reading off the text in dialogue boxes is not very helpful.
