    멋진 작품이네요! 한가지 질문이 집성판을 끝까지 대패질을 하면 엇결 부분이 뜯기지 않나요? 어떻게 처리하시는지 궁금합니다.

    • @carpentersonny
      @carpentersonny  Рік тому

      안녕하세요. 동양대패는 덧날과 어미날에 최대한 가까이 붙이고, 서양 대패는 대패입을 아주 좁히면 엇결도 뜯기지 않게 대패질이 가능합니다. 그렇게해서 날을 아주 살짝만 내고 살짝 지나가서 뜯길 것 같으면 그 부분은 중간에 멈춰서 이쪽 저쪽으로 대패질을 하기도 하는데, 그런 경우는 아주 심각한 엇결이고, 오히려 집성판에 자작자작 붙은 나무들은 무절이라고 하죠... 옹이 같은게 없고 결이 착한 편이어서 대패질이 오히려 쉬웠습니다.

    I do admire filming work, but at the same time the design of stands, in my opinion, is over complicated. It could be worth doing (except just to be filmed and published on yt) only with hand tools and for learning purposes... but it isn't when you use $$$ corded tools :) I would go for ikea mittback and good quality, full lenght glued tabletop in that case.

    • @carpentersonny
      @carpentersonny  Рік тому

      Hi, I agree with you. I like ikea too and actually I am sitting on an ikea chair now :p I am trying to get little bit better things and sometimes I make it by myself (It's better option for me in my budget condition ;; )

      I was thinking the same thing. The video skills and editing were great and made for a very enjoyable video to watch. The horses themselves though, I’m afraid have a couple issues. The stretcher all the way at the bottom of the legs like that is going to prove problematic, on uneven ground. Even raised up an inch or 2 would have been a more functional idea. It’s actually not really even necessary and with that red oak, adds a lot of weight with little benefit. The second problem is the whole idea of adjustable height horses just not really being a real necessity to begin with. Adjusting them up or down is going to be a pain, with (4) tight fitting, square holes to pass through. I think you’ll likely find that you’ll figure out the height you most prefer and almost never move them again.
      On the pro side, this would be an excellent project to practice your hand tool skills with, without having to worry about making a small mistake here or there. Horses are a functional work tool, not a piece of furniture, so a slight fraction off on a fit won’t ruin the project. But it will be good practice.
