The best song ever written. ❤I’ve only known for about a year that John Bromley was the writer of this this masterpiece. I’ve looked up everything that I can on him….. His demo version I love too. I’m so proud of him too even though I’m not even related.
Hi Gilley this is a fabulous song,,you must be ver proud, any chance of you forwarding his email or phone number to me anthonyhelos1@gmail.com ,thank you in advance i hope you see this Anthony
I was born in 1960 and remember this 'era' of Farnsy👍. His voice has always been good but you can hear the quality in his early days too as voice critics state, in a few words, as 'First Class'✔️. Thank you for uploading👍
The only time I enjoyed & saw the talent of little Johnny Farnham in the 1960’s. I learned to appreciate him only when he grew up to be John Farnham. Truly an Aussie legend & when he sang this song in later years, it only sounded better. Thanks for posting, now I am going to watch the grown up version.
Thank you for this great work of one my most favourite songs by him. I had never seen this video before. This song and "Baby without You" duet with Allison Durban, two of the most longing for love songs.
The first two stanzas of the song don't sound like song lyrics or even poetic so it's really impressive that John could make them sound so pleasant. What great voice control he had so young.
Is no one else going to mention his lip-sync fail? Lol! This is one of my favs of his, my first time hearing him sing it straight... I'm addicted to the looser live version where it's less regimented . What a lovely young man he looked like pre mullet 🤣
the lyrics to this song would have been good wallpaper for The Collector. Anthony Perkins would have grooved to the wrap you in silver threads and see you sway. The remarkable transformation into art is probably John's best track, a mature, redeeming reading of obsession.
Tops!...I can sing the lower notes but as soon as he goes to the next register I go falsetto and it just doesn't work...John has an incredable dynamic range....and this is really a lovely song that John pulls off without a problem....I wonder how he's getting on...
I've loved John(ny) Farnham since I was a little girl. I'm now 60 and these songs, especially this one, take me back in the time machine. 🥰
What a very beautiful song by our very own John Farnham.
Wow what a voice.
This song is beautiful as is John's voice. What a singer. Thanks John ❤
This song was written by my brother, John Bromley 😍
Yes, I have a demo version of John ( Bromley ) doing it on an extended version of his "Song" album, it is a great song.
What a great achievement, it's a beautiful song. :)

My favourite John Farnham song. I remember when it was released in Australia.

Totally amazing fella. We are all blessed to have his talent in this crazy old world.
Stunning stunning stunning... Stunning timbre... Breathtaking musician. 😢😢😢😢
Love this song. I took my son and his friend to a john farnham concert. So cool
❤️Beautiful song by Johnny.
He is absolutely perfect. Beautiful man, golden voice. GORGEOUS.
What a great natural singer..
Still gives me goosebumps.

HERMOSO!! SALUDOS DESDE SALTA --ARGENTINA.
This sounds like a song Scott Walker would have done. Even to this day, it's still the best record John Farnham ever cut.
It does sound like something Scott would write/sing. Very raw, emotive and unconventional. Right down to the phrasing.
Couldn't agree more. A classic.
I agree. This and Please Don't Ask Me are John Farnham's best songs.

Best song ever
Great song his best. His current circumstances (Mouth Cancer) are devastating for him however he will leave a legacy to be proud of.
This song was the first time I realised what a first class singer he is.
The strings are very reminiscent of several Jimmy Webb songs

HEY 🥰 LUV IT OLD SCHOOL MELBOURNE 🥰 GO CARLTON!!!!

Prefer the adult version. The song is , in my opinion, written for an older person. He is too young in this video.
I love John Farnham. But. This song is garbage
You may think so, I love it.
Because YOU don't like it does not mean it's "garbage". Pull your head in.
@@zzzbbbooo I disagree my friend :)
