What an incredible sound! Havent heard one properly chop, yet keep it quiet enough to keep its luxury-esk like it should. What's the exhaust and header setup? Catless?
I know I am late to the party but a have a 2012 and was wondering what all I need to bring it to life lol . 1.the cam 2.phaser lock out 3.lifters and springs Is that it ? If so what specific parts did you use ?
I have the same car, but a 2012 with 50k miles. The car is misfiring badly. I took it to my local mechanic, and he picked up a damaged cam and lifter. Instead of putting back the standard cam, i'm thinking about going for same mod as you. What cam is it and what's the cost and availability
How hard was the install ? Theres really not alot of good shops that work on hemi’s in the illinois area so debating just trying it my self car sound bad ass btw
If you are mechanically inclined and are able to remove heads then you should have no problem, I seen people swap cams with out removing heads, but honestly I dont know how they were able to keep the lifters from dropping down . But since you want to install a cam I would due everything at once so you will not have any issues further down the road. So basically , cam , upgrade to non mds lifters and swap out to heavier duty valve springs . Let me know if I answered your question and thank you !
Thanks for the reply! Yeah im not sure i would trust my self to do the install seeing the heads need to come off...any shop you would be able to recommend for an install ?
520hp 548tq full bolt ons , vvt locked out ,mds deleted , American racing long tube headers, meisterschaft exhaust , high flow cats, bigger throttle body, open butterfly valves.
Installed everything my self , cam is anywhere from $500 to $700 depends what cam you choose but complete kit will run you around $1500 since you have to delete mds and swap out to none mds lifter , so pretty much you will need a cam , I also installed the vvt phaser lock out, none mds lifters , upgraded the valve springs , and 2 new oem head gaskets to complete the job , plus tune hope that helps to answer your question
Paul Sagan bro you got an Instagram? I have a homie that’s about to get a Jeep 6.4L, he’d def like some advice on cam work. And people that are into N/A build mopars are few and far in between in my area
@@4doormopar576 shimmed them 5.7 does not require shimming 6.4 does but it's your call I know people that did not shim them and they are ok but I decided to shim them . The car is gone btw I decided to trade it in , hopefully will buy another one soon but looking more towards 6.2 hemi
Paul Sagan thanks for the info, I’ve actually never heard of them before. I’m dropping a 6.4 into my 69 roadrunner with an mmx cam, custom sheet metal intake, nick williams TB and tti headers. I want that nasty chop and exhaust note that I had with my big block in there!!
