Amazing work and skills, but this must have cost a small fortune. Why didn't the owner just buy a silver car to start with. From a financial prospect none of this makes any sense.

Labour is cheaper over there. They might not be getting paid by the hour, more like a lumpsum cost.
This definitely would be getting near the total cost of the car. These are cheap in the UK
I think that in their country you have to pay 200% taxes on foreign cars. Because labour is cheaper it is pretty common to see full Restaurations or conversions to a newer model. For example in Turkey a brand new S Class costs 400'000 USD. A used one which costs in Europe maybe 10'000 USD costs in Turkey at least 50'000 USD. An hour of labour costs 15 USD. So people buy the older model and spend another 30'000 USD on it to make it look like a newer one because the taxes for a brand new one are way to high

Uk guy here and I have the same questions as a lot of others. To us this would make no sense at all. You can buy a silver Merc for less than this would cost to do.
But also, the car won’t be as good as before. There will be some clips and glues that don’t quite fit right and there will be some small stretches in some of the materials.

if i am the original owner with low mileage I would definitely do it. Plus this is China, parts and labor are definitely lot lower than western countries.
Yea you're right, it doesn't make sense. Probably hobbyist (sentimental values), low labour cost, and last but not least : content for youtube (also advertisement for their shop).
Also whats the point of completely dissassembling the whole interior. Could have cleaned the seats without all that crazy work lol.
I never realized how much work goes into a Mercedes. Now, I appreciate mine a lot more.

These cars are rare in China and actually it’s not possible to import old aged vehicles like this to China so probably the total overhaul or paint change is worth the time and money! this car is going to be a classic in next 20 years.
But as a color change its value is diminished

Tengo el mismo coche s600 y lo he desmontado bastante por diversos motivos y no paro de pensar la cantidad de piezas rotas o que no encajan igual de nuevo, la cantidad de fallos o códigos de error registrados después y cosas así, además de que yo prefiero el color negro, mucho dinero tenéis que ganar después para que valga la pena tanto esfuerzo, aún con todo es admirable, un trabajo bien hecho

I don't mean to piss on anyone's parade, I appreciate the incredible amount of work that went into this but there's something in the way that MB assembles these cars and what I mean by that is, if you take it apart, no matter what you do, it won't be the same as it was from the factory. I've seen something similar done by a very high-end company for a client here, the car looked amazing but it was creaking and squeaking from every possible joint, also it was significantly louder than it was before, the guy had to sell the car as he couldn't live with it.

Have you been to China? I have too many times, work for a major US company. I assure you these factories and shops exist. It serves to more affluent clients.

I jusr recently discovered your channel and i must say you guys are way above professional. You are certainly exceptionally good at what you do. However i find the repetitive background music distracting and annoying . How about a different approach...like just the actual sound of in the workshop?

The price on this job is pretty much the same to buy another car. Probabliy not a mercedes, but certainly a good car
You said it, another car. If I am the original owner and I know the history, I would spend the $10k doing it. Remember this is China now. Material cost and labor cost are not what western countries charges.

What was the purpose of removing the seats and the center console?
In England a 2012 s350 is worth £5 to £6000 crazy to do that amount of work
After disassebmly then assemble %100 guarentee you will hear trim sounds from everywhere.
Superb job to a very high standard only tiny thing why leave trunk hinges black ? I no they have a cover on but it’s the only give away it’s been colour changed 🤔 . Still perfection imo 🙏🏻👍🏻😉🇬🇧
Great job but the most important thing was the inner wings and engine bay which you left uncleaned and black. So I'm afraid you loose a lot of points for that!!!🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

In US it is at least $20k. China can do this with factory paint and cost 50%.

It was more like a in deep detailing than just a paint work. Paint job came into second on this one. Very good work!
It's strange it to be a 2012 car. Maybe in your country because after 2010 it should have the new headlights and taillights... It would have been a good moment for a retrofit!

While it is amazing work, just keep in mind that all of those interior panels tent to squak and rattle after removal/installation and it not really wise to disturb them unless really nessesary.
That mercedes is not one-off custom built, etc etc.
With cost of such job,... I'd just sell it and get another one in color I like.

I’m not sure how old this car is, but if this is done to a slightly newer car, doesn’t this work pretty much cancel out every single warranty?

Guys must have a really in-depth knowledge of MB to demount and mount everything without damage and on a level similar to factory work. Was it worth money ? I guess so. Many people including me would chose a 2012 S-class renewed like it was shown instead of buying a new model with all that LCD-screens-crap-styling and no physicall buttons for prices like 120k Euro onward. In Europe such work would be priced starting at 10.000 Euro in Eastern countries with cheaper labour. But eg in Germany I guess it would be more like 25-30k.

Very good worl but why bother, cars value aint worth enough to change colur and have a complete respray and paint will never match factory finish anyway
