Late reply, but after a certain depth the pressure of the water above you is higher than your natural buoyancy, so you just start falling!

Its so much slower when going up from 42 meters because the lower you get things expand so your body expands and so do your lungs but, when you go up you have to stop for a bit at a certain hieght to wait for your body to adjust to getting smaller thats why there are those platforms

Yeah, for real. Deepest I've gone down is 15 feet and even at that point if you don't depressurize your ears, they start to hurt quite badly. I can't imagine how it is at 30 meters. I'll bet there's some serious possibility of damaging your eardrum

Diver are trained for higher pressions, but not too much bar
You equalize the pressure in your ears when you go deep enough.
When you dive deep you wear a nose clip, that way you can blow into your blocked nose every 3 feet or so to equalize the pressure. If you don't do it properly your ears will fucking hurt and pop 100%
