I saw a kid a couple of times over the internet where he's crying and asking for the Mahdi to please come and save them. Brothers and sisters, this is not right, this is a bit of shirk. You can't expect the Mahdi to magically solve your problems and completely rely on him to give you salvation. YOU (WE) have to work to solve your (our) issues WHILE seeking and asking for Allah's help. We should be praying to Allah, NOT "asking for the Mahdi to come out of his hiding place." I'm sure the kid and the people singing mean well, but they're not pointing their faith and Iman towards Allah, our creator who knows what's best for us. We are positive that the Mahdi can't even be here yet because there are still a few signs that have not come true yet, and we can't just sit arround doing nothing till they do come true. We are an Ummah, we need to act and be strong in solving what is killing and hurting us. As our beloved Messenger said; the Ummah should be like a body, if it's hurting somewhere, it should be felt throughout the body and be treated by such body. Where are our actions? If you see an evil, try to change it with your hands, if not, then with your mouth, if not, then with your heart, and that is the weakest of faith. Don't sympathize with the enemy that is killing us for one moment. And try to use your hands as much as posible. Here in Egypt, we're trying to send food and water to our brothers, but are sadly blocked off. In Sha' Allah we will break through and aid them very soon.

Can someone clarify, he made the point that imam mehdis army will be here before prophet Isa descends and meets him but said that means it can't be now. What if now is when the army is formed and Isa will come after? I don't get how that proves its later

In a Hadis it was mentioned that every 100 years a Mujadid will emerge. The last was in 1924 but if according to hijrah - Syaaban of 1324. Now in 2023 is 1445 hijriyah. Now it is more than 100 years and to me anytime the Mujadid will emerge and is no other than AlMahdi.
In another hadis it was mentioned to give Bai'ah to him even if you need to crawl on ice (snow).
As we know, Winter in Saudi spans from October till Feb. Coincidently Feb 2024 is Syaaban 1445 and is snowing.
Based on this, I am positive that anytime now AlMahdi will emerge.

i am a muslim following only the Quran in the way you should follow him as a believer. this subjects are very emotional but i must say you the truth: hadithes about mahdi, dajjal, coming of Isa all fake hadithes and in opposition to what Allah teaches in Quran. It is even shirk to worship anything else than Allah e.g. in form of waiting of help from mahdi, sheikhs, imams or any other person.
therefore shirk is in your imans and this is why Allah is not giving victory to you upon kuffar. As long as you dont leave falsehood of madhabs and traditions and so called scholars fatwas and turn back to Islam of Quran and only follow Allah and His prophet Muhammed (Allah´s peace be upon him) in the way they did it when the Quran was revealed, that means, by only following the Quran and understanding the Quran through itself as Allah makes all interpretations with His verses, as long as you dont follow this true Islam of Quran and instead Madhab-/Culture-/Irrational-/Traditional-"Islam" (which is full of shirk, false hukums, invented hadithes, invented hukums, bad influences of other cultures, .. and much more evil and bad things of shaitans to mislead you away from path of Quran) you will live dschahannam in this world and in hereafter, too. Allah is merciful. You must seek help only from Allah, and not from mahdi, isa, prophets, evliya, sheikhs, ... Allah doesnt forgive that you worship any object except Him like an idol because the only one true God is Allah. After that all of 12 Imams علیهم السلام will resurrect and fill the earth with justice as the earth is filled with oppression . Then the day of justice will starts.
