  • Pandit Chandrashekhar Naringrekar was an Indian classical musician who played Dhrupad on Surbahar. He was a student of Zia Mohiuddin Dagar, the famous Rudraveena player. He was featured in George Harrison's debut solo release, Wonderwall Music. Pt. Naringrekar was born on February 7th, 1936 in an affluent, educated family in Bombay. He learnt sitar on his own. In 1956, he started learning the surbahar from the Rudraveena maestro, Ustad Zia Mohiuddin Dagar.His sister, Pramila Dagar, was the wife of the Dhrupad exponent, Zia Mohiuddin Dagar. His nephew, Mohi Bahauddin Dagar, is a Rudraveena player belonging to the Dagar tradition of Dhrupad. He died on 2004.
