I found my soulmate. When I stumbled upon your videos I fell in love with your style and I wanted you to know that you have one heck of a loving fan in me. Your style is what I've been searching for and I feel so lucky to have located you. I am surprised that you don't have a much larger audience, your work demands more viewers. Keep up your wonderful work and videos, and I'll be eating up each and every one of them.
Hi Sydni, thank you so much for your lovely comment, you have made my day 🙂 Glad you're enjoying the vids and I'm sure with support from people like yourselves, my channel will grow ❤️❤️
Beautiful Grungy Goodness 💖 I love how you choose colors that come together so beautifully. I love the white wax under the paint technique also to make a Gorgeous Grunge
WOW !! I love this piece of furniture and I really love this grunge look. The colors are amazing and the wax really softens the look. Thanks for a great video !!
I appreciate your explanation about the brush and why you chose it. I always wonder what the difference is between the brushes and why one is chosen over another.
I love this look, grungy is definitely up my alley. I just have to get brave enough to try it. Maybe on an old t.v. stand that I have in my garage would be a good practice piece! Thanks for sharing your technique. I love your work!
I ABSOLUTELY L-O-V-E your piece! Your tutorials are AWESOME!! I feel I could actually accomplish a similar look, just by following your tutorial...so THANK YOU VERY MUCH for that! (And I LOVE listening to you speak...I L-O-V-E your accent!! Lol) One thing that your tutorial has shown me is that I MUST try Dixie Belle's water-based wax. (To date I have only used oil-based wax.) So that's 'on the list' for a future purchase. I SOOOOO APPRECIATE your time and efforts in creating tutorials for many of your pieces...and sharing them with the rest of us! Thank you!!! 🥰❤️🥰❤️🥰
Hi Mary, you are so sweet thank you! I do love a good oil based wax myself sometimes, but the water-based ones make life so much easier in my opinion! Also glad to hear you are enjoying the vids. Have a lovely weekend 🙂❤️
@@jodieflavell you are very welcome! Yes oil-based wax has it's benefits/uses for sure...but you reminded me about the water-based wax, and ESPECIALLY how I could and WOULD use it!!!! You have a wonderful weekend as well! ❤️
Thank you so much! Yes wax does act as a top coat as it hardens and protects the finish. It's not quite as durable as a clear coat but it finishes with a different look
wouahh! that s one of my 🤩! I really looove it! black wax is really frightening 😂 thanks a lot for sharing, Judie, awsome ps can I replace sea spray with kitchen salt?
Thanks Virginie! If you use a water based dark wax then it shouldn't be so frightening because it can just be painted over😉 I have used sea salt before but honestly it dries kinda spiky and thick. I have seen canvas artists use fine sand before for texture, so if you can get a hold of some maybe that would work...?
@@jodieflavell thanks a lot, Judie, sand from mallorca’s beach will be great! I ll show you the result☀️🎶😉😀 how can I get dixie belle s products delivered to mallorca at a reasonable cost?
love Love LOVE this!😍😍😍 So glad I found your channel. So, does the paint over wax rule apply for any water-based wax? I have some (pretty crappy) like, liquid wax, from ArtMinds and I can't find anywhere whether I can layer it. Have you tried that, or any liquidy wax before?
I can't say for sure because I haven't tried that wax, but if it is water based then I can't see any issues! I'd be interested to know how it turns out 🙂
I love detressed and grungy looks but I fear my family don't get it, when I sanded down a pretty flower design on a detressed Hall table, they said its a shame its so pretty, I did explain, and I'll never paint anything for us in a straight 1 colour simple look. I'm doing an old but loved table that I've passed on to my daughter in her first flat, I've mixed 2 colours based on her preferences and I'm using dark wax except on the top ofcause, shes's open to my style and ideas.
Ah I bet that can be frustrating when your family loves different styles. At least it sounds like your daughter is open to being creative tho. It sounds lovely what you're doing 🙂
I love the entire design. I know you went directly to dark wax, but I've always heard todo clear wax and then dark wax in case you need to wipe the dark wax off. Do you ever do this or do you always go to the dark wax? Just curious
Hi Jersey, I do sometimes do that, however because the Dixie Belle waxes are water based it also means that I can remove them with a damp rag too. I usually do this is I want a stronger look 🙂

Thanks Kelly! And you should sometime, just for the fun of it 🥰
Amazing!! I would never have picked these colors to put together! Wow!!

Thanks Dawn! ❤️❤️❤️
Love the look. You have such a good eye for making dramatic pieces. Thank you for your inspiration and tutorial.
Thank you Judy, glad you enjoyed the vid 🙂
Love this!!! Purple i don't like so I've never bought plum crazy but I've seen you use it so many times before as an accent colour and looks lush 🖤
Thanks Georgia! It's not quite a purple, probably more a deep Fuchsia colour, which might be why you like it 🙂
@@jodieflavell i have my next piece that I was stuck on ideas with, might try this. What do you suggest instead of plum, I have peony or barn red? 🤔
It's gorgeous, I love the close up shots at the end, the colours go so well together.
Thank you Jane, glad you like it 🙂
Great tutorial Jodie !! Love this look 😍

@@jodieflavell 👋
LOVE YOUR STYLE!! How do you do the edges of drawers with this finish? I always get stumped on that part
I always sand or wipe away and paint residue, then I either leave them, paint them or more often then not use gold Gilding Wax 😊
What an amazing transformation! Is the wax also acting as a topcoat? I'm curious about the wax durability vs. a liquid topcoat.
Thank you so much! Yes wax does act as a top coat as it hardens and protects the finish. It's not quite as durable as a clear coat but it finishes with a different look
Gorgeous!!! 😍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
