in rdr2, there is a spot in thieves landing, where if you fall off the roof and land between some certain crates and the building, you will get stuck for good, game still runs perfect all around you, but you are just there... has happened to me twice, 1st on accident, 2nd to see if it was possible to do again.
Which Roof is it? So I know where to avoid
@@treyjordan3168 in thieves landing, the building that is next to the lot with the camp setup inside, there are boxes and a cart I believe, and a wooden fence around the whole thing except where the buildings wall makes up the fence.
Dont kno why i laughed so hard when u said tha second time. Like why would u? I get it but i would have quarantined that whole area til patch ctfu
And 3rd?
yeah i know what you're talking about! i was messing with some outlaws and tried to hide and i couldn't move at all
Let’s be honest, all Bethesda game start crashing if you play them for a long time…
Does Evil Within count?
They've been using the same foundation for 20+ years; they've probably optimized the memory leak somewhat, but it will happen for Starfield and ES6
What about dishonored 2?
Both of those were only published by Bethesda but were made different teams. Evil Within uses idtech 5 and Dishonoured 2 uses the Void Engine.
For the games Bethesda develop themselves, they all share some of the same bugs because they're using the same game engine they used for Morrowind as a backbone for their Creation Engine 1 & 2.
Isnt that most big rpgs since you just get so much data
Far Cry 6: The game will auto save right as you die from falling so when it loads back in you die immediately. This makes it so you have to restart the entire game. This only happens because the game doesn’t include save slots
Oof. Not cool.
It doesnt??? Holy shit
You can turn off cloud sync . When when you’re done playing sync it back .. you’ll only loose what you played that day . Or obviously last time you synced
Holy shit... Thanks for letting me know, bro!
@@isaiahgrimm2810 I would also back up my save to a usb if possible.
I've read that the reason that Bethesda games will eventually slow down and crash is because their game engine keeps tracks of where every item is located. And if you are a hoarder, picking up every item you find only to stash it in a chest in your house (like me), the game will eventually have hundred, if not thousands of stuff to "remember" where you put it.
It was worse in Morrowind because the npcs never refreshed their inventory
Yeah I do the same, and at least two chests at the Sink, are filled with so many weapons and gear it takes a second to load the inventory. Would it help to spread loot across different inventories?
That explains some things… I hoarded way too much shit in my characters house in Oblivion. >_>
i got a feeling like this even in skyrim from time to time. Always when i play a couple of hours and my inventory weight goes from a couple of 100 units to a couple of thousands it will defnitely slow down temporary but more often from time to time. It could be depending on other things too, but i think this is also worthy to keep an eye at.
But that won't be the case in fall out new Vegas cause you are always carrying your stuff with you
Autosaves are the reason why sometimes I'll turn of a game. Re-doing work you did in an RPG an hour ago over just because a glitch or failure on your part, which returns you back to a previous autosave hours before the said incident is heartbreaking.
Manual saves are life
Outer wilds: park your ship on one planet, fire your scout on another and stand on yet a third planet, the game tries to render all three planets and does not like it.
Hello Check Out My Games.
What about your "Top 10 dying achievements" where you do a certain thing in a game, die and get an achievement for it e.g. "Out of your depth" achievement in GTA V where you get eaten by a shark, or "Touchdown" achievement in Fallout 4 where you let a Super Mutant Suicider kill you
Thanks for the suggestion
In No Man's Sky there are 2 ingame titles (no Steam achievements) to you get from dying. One is from falling from a high place and other dying victim of an underwater horror.
or Portal 2 when you jump down the pit
Prey and the helicopter incident.
Hello Check Out My Games.
My two personal “favourite" softlocks are in bully when you go through the back door of the asylum, only to realise that the door can only be used from the inside, and you're basically just stuck at the back of the asylum until you restart the game.
Also in GTA SA while playing the burglary side mission, if you just walk too close to a wall that a stealable item is on the other side of, Carl just infinitely walks into the wall trying to get the item, but being unable to ever reach it because of the wall.
I only know of 1 major lock and that's where you can actually forget to grab the crowbar before escaping the trash compactor in Half Life and then be stuck needing to reload a save a best, and restart the game at worst.
I can't imagine doing that mission again. It's the reason I only beat the entire game once.
What the hell is polka doing
That SA glitch is only on the mobile ports, and the later releases based on that version
When I saw the Mario Kart DS manual crash, it reminded me of how you can anger the comic shop owner in Bully, and cause the nerds to knock him out, causing the game to crash if you punch anyone.
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. There’s a game breaking glitch for entering the cannon room and saving inside it.
Sheeyit.
Hello Check Out My Games.
Isn't that wii version?
Man... Far Cry 2. After some missions you have the option to choose which side you will help but when you reach the buildings the doors of the rooms where the missions are given are closed... If you have a single save slot you are done.....
Hello Check Out My Games.
Metroid Dread has one. You just beat the game with any Pins on your world map, the worst part is that it sends you back to before you fought the final boss.
Good thing Nintendo knew right away
Hello Check Out My Games.
If i remember correctly the Bug in Oblivion comes after 200+Hours and it was an Wooden Club Weapon replicating itself in the Testing Area until Game cant handle the amounts of that Item anymore.
So erase the club and it’s fixed?
@@subjectdelta7210 Maybe, the unoffical patch fixed that i think, but how exactly i dont know. I mean it could be tried to find the one and open console command clicking on it and press erase to get rid of it and it could work but it could respawn itself again after starting the Game next Day and continueing the Bug.
I managed to break Dragon Age Inquisition. In my obsession with throwing myself off cliffs or into bodies of water, I managed to dive into a pond and the game respawned me above it leading to an infinite loop of me falling into the water over and over again. No way to escape the loop because I couldn't even open a menu. It was funny till I realized the game autosaved during the loop and my last manual save was like 3 hours before.
Oh this has happened to me before.
You spend so much time appreciating the bug that the game overwrites over your past saves. That hurts.
On a related note I got the Mako flying in Mass Effect and spinning uncontrollably. The sheer speed would damage it but I'd keep repairing it. Also have a picture of Shepard staring like suspicious Fry in a dialogue scene.
Like that Viva La Dirt League skit.
Oh I think that might've happened to me too. If not this game, another game with a similar bug. Maybe fallout?
Hello Check Out My Games.

Back when Pokemon X and Y were first released, there was an infamous game-breaking glitch in Lumiose City where if you saved and then reloaded the game while in the North or South Boulevard, there was a chance the game would load incorrectly. You couldn't move or open menus at all, so the game was essentially frozen, and reloading did nothing, there was no solution other than to delete your save file and start a new one. The kicker? 2 out of 3 Pokemon Centers in Lumiose City were located in the North and South Boulevards.
Patch 1.1 released relatively quickly to fix this, which prevented the glitch from happening again and saved players who were still trapped in that glitch, but I personally experienced this just a little before the Patch came out and tiny me was TERRIFIED.
That Oblivion bug happened to me in my Skyrim save, called a memory leak. A file that was originally a couple hundred megabytes ended up being a 3 gig save file just from playtime, every time the game autosaved the file would get bigger, until it was so big it would just freeze upon loading in. Was told its because of inventory collection, that the game has to remember all the shit you store in house storage, while it normally despawns dungeon loot while the player isn't in the zone.
The amount of manual saves I made whilst playing through cyberpunk is crazy
Hello Check Out My Games.
You mean auto saves.
Same here.
@@blaquenoise How does one manually auto save?
@@AnUnapologeticApologist
The auto saves pileup not the manual ones, unless you're dumb enough to keep creating new saves.
in Days gone your bike can get stuck outside the map and you can't get to it, the only way then to retrieve it is to get to a camp on foot (especially annoying when you're really far away from one) and ask a mechanic to retrieve it
That jus seems realistic, yeeting a motorcycle into a lake or across a water way isnt exactly something a bike comes back from..... lol
not sure if this was said yet, but in 007 Golden EYE on N64 we found a multiplayer bug where it you put remote mines on the glass windows in the office level then break the glass, and throw one more mine, the game freezes instantly.
Psa: when a game continues running but doesn't let you do anything, it's referred to as "soft-locking"
My daughter and I were playing Lego Harry Potter and she managed to get us both stuck at the middle of finding food for Buckbeak. She dropped some at the top of the ladder in the dry lakebed when I was taking the 1st bit to him then fell off the ledge into the lakebed herself. For some reason neither of us could then get to the top of the ladder to pick it back up as the food seemed to block us. We had to restart the level and had to collect the studs all over again.
Skyrim fortify restoration potion loop gets me everytime and still, I use it! 😅
Tell me your secrets!
Civilization V has a flaw that every time you raid an improvement you get health, so if you park a worker there you can free heal every turn any unit on that tile.
I didn't think I'd ever say that.
Once while playing hitman 2 for ps2, I turned on the explosive bullets glitch, and shot the pigs at the church.
Game froze and screeched.
Apparently, they didn't add physics for the pigs. Lmao
The first one is not like the Y2K bug as it literally is the Y2K bug or rather, the consequence of one of the workarounds for it that delayed the effects until 2020 by which time they hoped a permanent fix would be found. It was, not that it helped them out at launch since it was not implemented for whatever reason.
The only game breaking bug I have run into multiple times, was in Borderlands 3 on release.
Upon getting to Eden 6 there is a quest objective to go meet a certian Beserker on the other side of the map.
Whilst traversing to the location there is a diolog given by hammerlock that lasts for a couple of minutes and will end before you get to the last checkpoint, even when using a vehicle.
Now, if you are playing as Zane there was a setup where you could achieve over 250% movment speed allowing you to move faster than vehicles and to reach the last checkpoint before the dialog ended.
If you did this, it would cause a checkpoint error and halt all story progress. Earlier saves wouldt reset the bug either. Forcing you to start another game.
Japanese games rule of thumb: always buy the original.
Facts 101
Can you explain? I imagine opposed to the game of the year? Or am I missing something.
@@JoshuaJacobs83 As in no translations errors, no audio errors... the list goes on
@@Zencast5 Oh ok. I always understood that the Japanese release was the prototype, the US fixed the mistakes and the international took the fixed game and added new content. Maybe that’s just final fantasy
@Fugg Kaiks Was DS Remastered any worse than the original? They even fixed up blighttown.
Back in the day, I came back into console gaming after years of spamming Counter-Strike day in and out (and some Neverwinter Nights) with a PS3... I played Fallout 3 on that and all was fine and good. Until I had explored pretty much the entire map and started the DLCs. I forgot what it was called but there was this one DLC where you'd go to this swamp island full of cultists or something like that and that's where the crapshow really began. The game was super laggy and using the VATS always was a gamble. Most of the time, whenever I'd tell it to do the actions I specified, the game would just freeze for a solid half minute and then suddenly continue playing. Which I only found out after turning the console off in frustration many times. I mean who'd just stare at a game that isn't moving for this long? I only discovered I could still go on because I had a friend in my house and I was talking to him while it happened and was distracted long enough for it to continue moving again before I could turn off the console. Crazy!
Wasn't that dlc called point lookout or something?
I can confirm that. Sold the original game for the GOTY version with all the dlcs and it was very annoying to get through in 2009. Platinum and 100%.
@@12061988 yeah agreed and same here
Ngl i loved fallout 3 and when i went to point lookout it was really frustrating like all the plants that you could take i would just chunk them on my pocket and never use them
You guys should do a '10 video game mechanics that make no sense but we love anyway'. For example, like in rd2 and ac valhalla where you can whistle from literally anywhere in the world and your horse instantly appears 😄
And the Witcher. Even if you’ve just swum to an island with no land access of any kind. Roach is either a hell of a swimmer or an even better captain.
I can't go back. I've played many games, thinking "why cant I just whistle?"
*sigh*
This is no place for a horse.
They are just keeping their horses in their horse pocket.
@@zyffyr no joke was working with a guy who pulled a ham n chs out of his pocket (in a ziploc).
He noticed me looking and said "What, you don't pocket sandwich? They are handy!" LOL
In resident evil 4, there was a glitch in the farm at night. By jumping over a certain fence in a certain way, Leon could clip through the map and he could get access to all the loot which was meant for Ada.
The crash would occur when you take Ada's shotgun and go into the next level.
There’s one in Vampyr too. If you try to set a waypoint on a spot in the map where a mission is marked, the game will crash.
For a decent AA title, that game almost crashed too many times for me to want to finish it. Seriously touch and go. The lack of auto-travel didn’t help either.
@@adamwest8711 on console? I've not got through the whole game but 12.5 hours in, not one crash.
Auto travel? Do you mean fast travel? Not that either would make sense in the game but auto travel even less so.
@@curtispritchard5938 yes on console and yes I meant fast travel but had a moment and couldn’t remember what you call it. I don’t think I’m alone in thinking the game would have benefited from a *fast* travel system but to each their own.
@@adamwest8711 I'm just curious why you think it'd be good? Enemies get stronger in areas you've already been to, so if you were to just fast travel past them it'd defeat the point. The map is also relatively tiny. Most places you can get to faster than any other game I've seen with fast travel. Not bashing, just curious.
@@curtispritchard5938 It’s not enemy avoidance, it’s because I found the trudging back and forth got just tedious as the game move on toward the end. Even a couple of fast travel points would have improved the pacing for me.
Edit: I should clarify that I did complete the game but the trudging around that map made the idea of playing through again and killing or sparing different people to get different outcomes just didn’t appeal, which I thought was a shame because, despite some flaws, I thought it was a decent, if slightly janky, game.
I remember in Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, if you disturbed the flock of ravens sitting outside a dungeon, the doors inside the dungeon would slam shut and never open again. And you wouldn’t know that until you played through the dungeon and saved over your file.
Lionheart. If you talk to DaVinci in France and progress through some quests he will leave that area.
The important part is... he is part of a main quest. If you haven't allready progressed through a specific main quest before completing DaVinci's side-quest(s) then there is litterally no way to progress through the main story anymore.
The most annoying situation I've ever faced was in Prince of Persia Sands of Time. There is a moment when you have to pull the lever to open the gate, do some bad ass stunt to reach the balcony where the gate is and behind the gate there are a lot of traps. If you die there, the game returns you to the saved spot, right at the balcony with the gate closed. You jump, you die. I pissed off, restarted the game, played for few hours and got stuck at the very same spot. That was the first time I almost fist-smashed my monitor. Luckily, the gamepad and the keyboard were the only casualties that day :D
I remember that bullshit too. I was so pissed that I dropped the game for 4 years before finally coming back to it.
Also the bug at the end of the game where it won't transport you to the final boss
That is the reason it's my only unbeaten xbox game.
I don’t recall having an issue with the GameCube version, although I did get stuck at one point and had to look up what to do but it’s been years since I beat it so I don’t remember exactly where.
I remember that! I cheated that part, think. Skipped the level or something or got a save file that was past that point.
with the half life 2 crash, i'd say it's because the barnacle can only pick up one thing at a time and the poison headcrab zombie has like 5 p-crabs on him and he just can't ragdoll unless he's dead.
although a good work around for it if this is how it works in the first place is to make the zombie die upon contact with the barnacle and have the several crabs fall off him and let the barnacle do it's thing.
(note, this is all said in extreme speculation, i have no idea how any of this really works so all this might have been completely useless)
The launch version of Skyrim on PS3 would crash every time I went into water beyond a certain depth.
I was going to mention this one. More specifically if you were a Khajit and jumped into the water as soon as you made contact it crashed. You could walk, run, crouch etc into water no problem. As soon as you jumped game over man
Bully has an easy way of manually crashing, similar to Mario Kart DS. If you anger the comic shop owner and get him to attack you, the nearby nerds may attack him if they have 100% respect for the player. If the owner is knocked out and therefore despawns, all you would have had to do is punch somebody in the comic store, and the game would crash.
I've never run into that Cyberpunk bug, played through it at least a dozen times on a mid-spec PC (gtx 1060). I'm playing it now and it's a very different experience than it was at launch. They've done wonders with the optimization.
I’ve had one blue screen and I played thru the game 6 times in my og ps4

Damn really? Glad that didn’t happen to me, that’s rough
Yep is there a fix
...good title then
Yep rage 2 the space ship area closed down the computer room and I couldn’t get the last item that was inside! Annoying but I got the game for 5$ so 🤷♂️
The worse cyberpunk glitch that I had was i had to much in my inventory and i saved my game and i came back and it restarted my game.
There is a similar situation that was in oblivion with the Sims 3 where everything slows down as sims get stuck or the game freezes for a while, the game crashes frequently and worst of all you cannot save the game because of Error Code 12, 13 or 16 which is very annoying for Sims 3 players and gets worse when you have all the expansion packs as the game takes around 10-20 minutes to load into the game from the main menu.
As I've read, some of it comes from the memories mechanic, which bloats your save files.
Pokémon Red and Blue: Missingno will cause permanent damage to the save file. It corrupts the game's Hall of Fame entries, causing graphics to become scrambled and sounds to work improperly.
Fallout 3, Point Lookout DLC, _The Chair._
Which chair??
@@baronobeefdipyes5181 i googled this and found nothing
Fun Fact: Assassin's Creed Unity had over 300 bugs on release.
Still not as many as 76
I remember seeing a new copy on the shelf at Game Stop about 3 weeks or so after release for 20 bucks. I'm sure it wasn't just my Game Stop, either. They shot it right back up to $60 when Ubisoft fixed it, though.
Plays great now, thankfully. I love how the crowds look and Paris, even in 1792 or whatever, was/is easily one of the most interesting cities in the world.
I remember the first Tomb Raider game on PS4 would crash your game and corrupt your data. I don’t remember exactly what caused it but I had to play through that game 3 times to finish it.
Prey had (maybe still has) a late game breaking bug where a dead NPC thats carrying a keycard can be burned away, along with the keycard, preventing you from progressing. luckily i had a cloud save from playing the night before.
Just scratch the disc, that'll break it real well.

I remember the original Sims game on the PS2 had a bug right at the very end where I believe it froze as your sim got in the limo (i think after they got married) and there was no way around it. Me & my sister just accepted that we finished it despite never seeing the credits 😅
man i never got past the second house in the original ps2 Sims. loved that game, i remember discovering that the item that is like an odor generator is basically the most useful for keeping the fun stat high without ever throwing parties or anything
Hello Check Out My Games.
@@playstationgamesworld4580 no you spamming bot.
Wasn't there a thing with the original Crash Bandicoot: Warped, where the game would freeze after the final boss fight? I know I experienced it, and never saw the ending because of it, but I'm curious if it was a wider issue.
There was an old game on the PS2 called Champion of Norrath. One of the upgrades you could equip was health or mana regen. Turns out that if you stack the regen to the level the game allows it crashes the game.
You forgot to mention the bug in Arkham origins where you loose all your gadgets if stop playing "I am the knight" mode and can't progress next time you come back 😐
Big oof
The knight doesnt quit.
Remember to tip DSP. He needs that money. He really does.
Eh?
Wha?
Just remembered one. Skyrim Special Edition: If you visit Castle Volkihar before meeting Serana, like just through random exploration or curiosity, an annoying bug occurs that can, to my knowledge, only be fixed with console commands. When you actually have to go there for the Dawnguard questline with Serana at your side, the guard should open the gate and let you inside the castle. However, if you'd previously visited the castle by yourself, the guard will seemingly not even realize Serana is there and you're stuck without any means of getting on with the rest of the questline.
remember when FO4 would crash when you’d scrap or place certain items (mostly crops) fast in the workshop
When it comes to Cyberpunk, most issues seem to be on consoles. I have the pc version and in my ~150h, the game has crashed twice and the bug during the GIM quest has never happened to me.
But when it comes to minor bugs, whoo boy, there's a lot :D
I think I got off lucky. On base a ps4 the only glaring issues I've had is texture pop in and like 3 or 4 crashes. I've had quests glitch but I could always finish them. Hope they make dlc missions soon
The save file glitch in Skyrim on the PS3 eventually rendered your game unplayable.
About #6, in Oblivion it is exactly every 300 hours. It's called the oblivion animation bug and you can download a whole bunch of different save file fixers for this bug. OAF (oblivion animation fixer) is great if you have this problem. The glitch happens because of an integer overflow that flips a 0 to a 1 in the save file, bugging out all the animations to half speed. AS far as I know, didn't "break" the game, it was just inconvenient and weird. Even after fixing my save file, it happened again at 600 hours and had to run the debugging program again. At least the fix is very easy.
I recall a similar bug to the Oblivion one in 2006 NFS: Most Wanted. It used a swap file for storing in-game data (destroyed objects, cop cars etc) and after roughly 30-60 minutes (you need to finish two 30min cop chases to 100% the game) the game would crash due to the swap file filling up. The solution was to add a number or two through regedit to a specific entry making the swap file bigger, and suddenly the game could run for hours :-)
Hmmmmm... interesting. First time I've heard about this for MW. Is Carbon the same way?
You guys need to use black backgrounds for your stuff. I keep getting blinded all the time! Gameranks go dark mode!!!
I like it and didn't mind when I had a phone that I could go to auto brightness and no blue light. That said this one is stuck at the brightness setting I use daily so I always have to watch it in front of my bed light; or just listen as I often do.
I think this every time.
Oh yeah, I had that cyberpunk one a few weeks ago while replaying it, just when you have to fight the animal boss. The "popular" fix didn't work with me, which was quitting the game and loading an older save before entering the boss arena, what DID do the trick was kill the guys that were near the boss area, especially one that I had tagged and got alerted as soon as the quest objective changed to: "fight the boss". Keep in mind though, that while it did work and opened the doors, the game didn't apreciate it, because the whole time inside the mall it acted weird with it's "quest waypoint" pointing places that lead nowhere so I had to look for the way out for myself. Hope it helps!
The 2k20 bug is actually due to the y2k bug. The fix done 20 years ago by some developers was to simply allow 1900-1919 years to stand for 2000-2019. This is obviously a carry over from that era.
really? I think it was a joke. an easteregg/prank by a now very fired dev.
@@tommytomthms5 maybe you're right, but I thought I heard it was due to an old y2k bug.
For those that don't know, the wwe 20 bug is due to a common y2k bugfix that told computers that years 0-19 were 2000s, after that the systems default to 1900s. The company behind the game just never updated their systems after that. So, it is literally the y2k bug.
I don't know what the hell people are doing that is making CP2077 unplayable for them cause I've never run into any game breaking bugs? The only bugs I've run into are aesthetic bugs that clear up in seconds.

Imagine a world where software companies actually saw a majority of their customers leave if they release a full price version of a game that's effectively pre-beta.
Wouldn't that be an amazing world? We might get what we pay a premium for, instead of these buggy, glitch filled, steaming betas.
Ok? Making a game is a slightly difficult procedure, you know. It's not exaclty cooking.

WHAT? I had no idea!
Is that why they spend millions and have scores and scores of people working on it instead of just one 'chef'? 😲
Seriously though, I'm not sure what your point was. I'm going to guess that very few people reading my comment thought I was referring to a simple process that one person could handle.
But imagine if the dish came out completely raw and unfit for consumption? You still okay with your analogy?
the bethesda bug is actually based on the fact that your sold items go into a chest thats allocated for the shop, and never gets removed from the game, its still the way its done in later fallouts and elder scrolls and its only newer hardware and programming for it that makes it less obvious
my first skyrim save got botched i ran through nightingale quest where you become one and karliha opens gate , I had just wiped all my saves, I wanted to have less than a million saves. anyway the gate shut and brynolf never entered so I got stuck and had to make new character. just though I would share the story
It always happens when you're clearing the saves. Never before.
I usually make a copy of the saves that I then end up not deleting.
Console bricking bugs, such as Anthem and PS4...
Can I recommend for a 2nd video on this subject that you include the game breaking bug that was in the Wii version of skyward sword, where if you didn't do the dragons in the exact order they tell you, the game bugged out and you couldn't go back.
You could make hour long episodes on how broken cyberpunk is.
I wish they would have waited another 6 to 12 months before putting out cyber punk…..I remember not being able to finish the robot car missions cause of a glitch or the pistol sticking out of Jackie’s head when he was dying in the car. Could have been one of the best games out there I played it 3 times with all the glitches IT WAS THAT GOOD
Thankfully worst glitch i had was the weird flare looking effects or by going 180 mph continuously can deload the game making you go through the map
I had the last Cyberpunk bug when I first played as well as having the screen glitch effect bug on top of that. So I had to look up how to fix the garage door bug and I had to reset the whole mission that I tried really hard to beat. I didn't realize the screen glitch was a irreversible bug until playing for about 3 hours and then I decided I couldn't take it anymore. So I had to reset before the mall mission again. Lets just say it took me two weeks to sit back down and play the unfinished game that I paid $60 for.
0:15 For WWE 2K20, I thought you were just going to stop at "Playing the game," and I thought, "Yep, sounds about right."
In Cyberpunk 2077 on the PC I summoned my car and it arrived flying through the air in a ballistic parabola and it crashed into me, killing me. I wasn’t even pissed. I was impressed.
The mario kart is so specific to the point that no one would do it without knowing it existed. Especially in mario kart. Like, why would you wanna stop in the middle of the track?
That's why it's so interesting.
The wwe one is just too ironic
The mass effect 3 one can be resolved by talking to EDI it's happened to me more than once.
i really liked cyberpunk even with all the bugs and glitches
same, love that game a lot for what it was and played it for month straight after it came out. I was on a PS4 Pro for reference.
Always there when I need something to watch.
Regarding the memory leakage in Oblivion’s game engine, I seem to recall Bethesda “solving” that particular issue with the Shivering Isles expansion as there’s a lot of changes made purely to the file structure in order to minimize the using up of memory addresses upon installing the expansion on both console and PC versions of the game. What’s hilarious aside from the fact that you have to buy an official expansion to fix this major issue on consoles is that Bethesda went to all the effort of restructuring the .BSA archive files as opposed to writing a simple fix for the game engine itself, as the modding community solved that particular problem with just a few lines of code as opposed to the massive amount of jury rigging Bethesda themselves resorted to in order to fix the issue.
ps3 version is not so lucky, the expansion never released on the console and the freeze bug was even worse on ps3, wasn't a pleasant experience lol
@@HUYI1 the expansion did release on PlayStation but only through the physical copy of the game of the year edition why I don’t know
@@jetheotaku oblivion on PS3 didn't get the tower wizard dlc, that was exclusive to Xbox
Well... did the mod fix cause any unwanted side effects in game?
In doom 3 it's possible that when an enemy spawns they become unkillable which doesn't break the game but makes it really hard
Every hour a game should have a thing saying "do you want to save?"
gameranx never fails to make a bad day good
falcon's voice is legitimately nostalgic
Fighting your first dragon in Skyrim and the dragon never shows up!!!!
You know what would be a great spin-off segment for us hardcore technical nerds: A team up with a UA-cam game programmer, like The Cherno, to do a deeper dive into some of gaming's specific famous bugs; why they're happening, how they got missed, why they didn't get fixed, etc, etc... Maybe even show a bit of source code if it can be found/replicated.... As a gamer and C++ novice that's just starting to get into some game development, whose long enjoyed your style, I'd watch the sh*t out something like that.
Absolutely.
I was dying from laughter when you mentioned that Mass Effect bridge bug, probably because I suffered from it a lot 😂...laughter from the pain I endured.
I had no idear the tunnel thing was a bug up untill now in ac😅😅 i thought i was just dumb and couldnt find an exit.
My thumbs and Xbox controller will never forgive you Star Wars The Force Unleashed’s Star Destroyer QTE
I'm not sure I ever had a bug that completely broke my game but I did have the lovely experience as a young PS1 owner play The Legend Of Dragoon and upon reaching the 4th Disc I find out that disc is defective. And as anyone who played the game knows probably the largest number of lore bombs are dropped right at the end of the 3rd disc and now you have to wait to mail it in to get it fixed/replaced.
there is a bug in Borderlands 2 on PC where in your invintory if you right click and hold on a specific spot, then drag the cursor to a second spot and release the right mouse button the game completely crashes. still works to this day.
In knights of the old republic 2 if you saved on one save file instead of having multiple files it will corrupt the save file, freeze the game and you would have to start over. You could not reload your game progress because of the corruption. Absolutely awful until I was told to have multiple saves, then I could finish it. Now I religiously save all the time and on multiple files
A real pain for story driven games is when there is no regular auto save. Constantly manual saving definitely impacts on immersion.
BTW Cyberpunks End Had A Glitch Were when you finish your game it asks you you wanna continue doing one last gig or main menu but if you chose gig options Game Used to Go back To start of final mission rather than Continuing !
In Prince of Persia: the forgotten sands if you fell while chain jumping from enemies surrounding this tower you would fall into a room that's supposed to be a way to restart climbing, but if you fell in the right spot the door to that room would be closed and you would be stuck. You had to delete the main save and load the backup save in the system settings. Probably the worst I've encountered
It would literary make you go back in time then.
The Oblivion A-bomb glitch came about when a total frame counter overflowed. The fix was as simple as editing the save file to set the counter to a lower value. The problem was doing this caused the player to be banned from Xbox Live even though it was a single player game. For some reason there were no class action lawsuits about this example of blatent player abuse.
Had to wait forever to finish ZombieU for all the game breaking bug to be patched
WWE2k20 was full of bugs and glitches i couldn't even put a design or image on my kneepads without my Xbox crashing hopefully WWE2k22 is better.
I had a bug in cyberpunk that just disabled the interact button. Still to this day on my save (ps5/4) it doesn't work
It is so on brand for Oblivion to just slowly disintegrate as you play
I think apex legends should be on this list
Emotes literally broke the game and it was literally unplayable. They had to remove them from your legend and then it was playable
Let me reiterate
Emotes BROKE the game and it was unplayable for a while
I'm Surprised you did not mention the cake in divinity 2 original sin that crash your game or system, can't really remember which one.
A couple of the recent Need For Speed titles (IIRC 2015 and Payback) where you're competing in a race, & you have to jump a car over a partially-constructed bridge, but you're not quite going fast enough.
The game would either;
(a) keep respawning you in mid-air so you just keep falling down ad nauseam, or
(b) keep respawning you too close to the jump, so you can't make it, therefore you have to turn around, go back further & try again.
Sure, neither of these are too bad in free-roam. But when you're in a race, where ONE tiny mistake can mean the difference between 1st and 16th (or whatever last is) - damn, it really sucks!!! X-P
In Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, I had so much fun. But at the beginning of my game, I chose to steal from this one house (I think it was a pub or something) and it broke a thieves guild quest. I didn't know this until I had literally finished like 75% of the Skyrim map, and finally got to the Thieves Guild base. So I go through 3-4 missions as normal, but then after I finish the mission, the next one is unnavailable. Nothing I do will start it. Apparently, the mission requires you to steal from that pub, but since I did that earlier, it broke the quest. There is NO way to fix this on console. Have to reload an old save... Problem is, I stole from this pub like an hour or two after I started the game. It had been months since then. I had cleared most of the map and side quests. I got so dejected that I couldn't finish this quest-line -- one I'd been hyped for since learning about it -- I just gave up on the game and shelved it. Didn't even finish the main story.
And this wasn't the only quest that permanently broke. This was just the biggest (it being an entire quest line). There were a few smaller quests that were broken and unable to be completed as well. Skyrim would've been such an amazing game if it weren't for these GAMEBREAKING bugs.
reminds me of the "murder mystery" quest in a city way up in the NE corner of Skyrim.
it has MANY ways to glitch out and become un-finishable!
