Just wanted to thank everyone for leaving comments and being part of this fun discussion. But here's something to consider / think about...$113b.
And? Plenty of companies became massively valuable by relying on marketing, their name, and mindless brand sheep like you instead of actually having a better product or more consumer friendly business practices. Sure they are commendable on the money side of things, but if that is all you are basing your consumer decisions on, then you should not be making these videos. Not only do you only bring up the most basic features of all the equipment you discussed in this video, but you also clearly have an extremely elementary grasp on business principles.
Chess moves?
Denon has had the Prime 4 and Prime 4+ standalone 4 channel dj controller and Allhatheta/Pioneer just comes out with one with no significant features over the prime 4 and it’s a chess move? The Prime series allows you to come in with your Serato or rekordbox thumb drives allowing you to import your entire library into Engine DJ while maintaining playlist structure, hot cues, and loops.
Opus quad can’t do that. Opus Quad is playing checkers and losing.
The Euphonia is a chess move?
Rane been had the hybrid analog digital rotary 8 years ago and the Euphonia comes up short on some of the features Rane had 8 years ago on their mixer (selectable high pass, low pass, hp lp combo) customizable crossover on the Isolator and a Submix channel that could serve as a 5th channel. The only thing it didn’t have was onboard effects. But, it was Traktor certified and you had full control of Traktor effects and they were also post fader.
Alphatheta connected to Serato is pre-fader; the effects will have no tail, they instantly get cut off as soon as you turn the rotary to the off position.
A 3800.00 mixer connected to Serato can’t do what the rane 61,62,68 have been able to do for years, having onboard effects and software effects routing with post fader effects when used with Serato.
I think you’re giving alphatheta a little too much credit. Why not ask them why they can’t compete with the denon and rane products that came out many years ago?

The flx 10 piece, love your comparison and logic as to why you chose it.
The inmusic breakdown. I get it. They are all over the place. They have all these in house products competing with each other instead of focusing all their efforts on the 2 top dogs, Rane and Denon. I mean Rane was synonymous with Serato; they made the first dvs sound card all the way to the sl4 until inmusic bought out Rane.
I wish they would focus all their efforts on Rane and Denon. And make their own alphatheta type brand with the best of all

I would like to join this nice "Chit Chat". A great video topic I've came across and I enjoyed your insight and the replies. "Playing Chess" I agree with you but the others playing Checkers??? May I offer some insight on what I believe is motivating AlpaTheta/Pioneer to produce the last products. InMusic (Denon/Rane). In your assessment, what standalone out here is feature-wise better than the Denon Prime 4+? Pioneer is the club standard, yes, but best for your bucks.. who? What motivated AlphaTheta to produce the Omnis Duo, ???.. ummh the Denon Prime Go??!!?! Think about it, some video blogger made me think about how long (time horizon) has it been since the CDJ 2000 was created until the 3000s. The CDJ 3000s (which is not CD players but media players) was motivated by Denon SC5000 (media players) and after that, the SC6000 to rival the CDJ 3000. Denon is playing Chess, that is for sure. What motivated Pioneer to come out with Rev7 and Rev1????? Rane One or better yet, Numark 7 motor platter series. I believe we love the innovation of the dj industry evolving to the next level. But great video.

I’m all Rane (MP 2015) Denon (Sc 5000 x 2) as soon as the 5000’s came out I sold a compete nxs2 system (900 nxs2, cdj 2000nxs 2 x 2)
My two sc 5000’s are 4 separate decks.
The only pioneer gear I have are the efx 500, 1000, and rmx 1000, mainly use the 1000).
I don’t understand how pioneer is still tbe club standard with denons technology that is far superior and simple to use.
The only gripe that I have with inmusic are all the products competing with each other and discontinuing products with incremental non essential hardware updates (mpc live replaced by mpc live 2, prime 4 replaced by the 4+ etc.) owning inmusic gear is like owning an iPhone, new bullshit every 2 years with a brighter slightly thinner or larger screen blah blah.
They need to bring stems to engine dj hardware/software across the board.
One thing is for damn sure
The alphatheta Euphonia comes up short in a lot of categories against the mp 2015. But once Louie Vega and David morales are seen playing on the Euphonia everybody will want one 🤷🏽

Chess? I think Pioneer/AT is IMO adapting to reality. Pioneer always approached the market from its image as market leader in clubs. The reality however is that 80pct of DJs never play in a club. Pioneers gear pushed a workflow based on prepping a USB stick at home and then playing that in a controller like the XZ or in a club. Most DJs creating an income from DJing are wedding DJs, they don't follow this workflow. They play straight from an SSD with thousands of songs and at most they prepare a playlist to start with. The denon prime 4 therefore was a much better all in one controller for wedding djs than the Pioneer all in one offerings. Pioneer now also embraced that reality with their new series of controllers. I'm not a fan of InMusic or Pioneer but I see that AT/Pioneer tries to please the DJs that were thinking about moving over to InMusic gear.

Props to you for going out to get gigs again. I'm 52 and still been in touch with people doing dj events and out in the clubs a lot after my divorce in 2018 lol. I relate to this video looking at all these different mixers and controllers. I started djing on radio at 17 years old in the 80s, moved onto clubs soon after and every place in my area had built in Urei 1620. What I didn't really get back then was how good the "summing" was between channels in the mix. Soon after in the mid 1990s they started to put EQs on each channel, and kill switches, it almost seemed like cheating. Fast forward to now and the possibilities are insane with stems and efx on different bands. I like the features on the Euphonia, might scoop one up myself. Whatever I choose has to have great phono preamps though, I still love vinyl. Cheers
edit - since you mentioned what gear is out at the club or what you would bring, it reminds me of the riders from hot shit DJs like LLV wanting a fan, a fruit bowl, certain drinks, and immaculate gear to his specs. Us lowly locals have to fight to get the stuff sorted, show up early, run our own sound checks, etc.
Denon aint bad, I've used prime Go and still have the Prime 2.
Denon DJ Prime is sicko, and that OS is next level, but replicable, and scalable. Who can scale at that level and that fast...hmm.
This could easily been called Pioneer/Alpha Theta chit chat because…wow What a full blown Pio Fanboy 😳 Omni duo is like 5 years to late to the party and still midding features, really not playing Chess, but catch up
I'm not a pioneer fanboy, although it def seems that way. From my vast years of experience, pioneer makes better dj controllers. Prime is sicko, but I need full size jog wheels. I think companies that make full size pro level dj controllers with small jog wheels, that's just lazy to me. Thx for your comment 🙏
Hello between the XDJ XZ and the DDJ FLX 10 which one would you recommend more? I don't care about the standalone feature so that is not a problem for me, im just curious if there is difference in build quality or something like that. Thanks For Your Help!
WOW! I really like my XDJ XZ. I don't have the Opus-Quad yet. However, if I didn't care about the standalone feature, I would def go with the flx-10. It's a dj controller, but it's a pioneer dj controller, and if you use rekordbox, it's pretty tight.
for me i have the opus quad and the xdj xz and I tried the flx 10. flx 10 and let me tell you this.the 1000 and flx line is too plasticy. not a heavy duty controllers. just stay away from them and go for the xdj xz or rx3 or opus quad. keeping in mind opus quad cant pro dj link with other pioneer equepments.

Pioneer is the club standard. But let’s not pretend the prime line is not murdering them with features. I use my rev 7 for the clubs. But corp/weddings the prime+ and control1 does it all without a laptop.
I want that opus quad for corp events. But yeah, prime is dope.
denon dj is making a move toward pioneer. they started a line that I hope they will continue to invest in with more hardware and software innovation. as this will lead us for a better hardware and software competition.

I hate pioneer dj. They are literally the pimps of the industry preying on anyone foolish enough to keep spending their money on a product that's already old the day it comes out because they already have a newer model ready to replace it. But at the end of the day it all comes down to whatever works for you, pioneer equipment included 😖

The Pioneer glazing is crazy. They solely did this “brand split/rename/alpha theta/merger” shit for marketing to get people talking, and you’re doing just that. No one cares. It’s time to stop being a pioneer sheep and actually look at products for what they are, not for the name on the side. If anything, give attention to their competitors like Denon and their new players so pioneer can actually feel some pressure to make some material changes. Like charging fair prices or actually innovating instead of creating a new bullshit brand.
