Charlie Munger, the vice chairman of Berkshire Hathaway and one of the most successful investors ever, is said to have the best 30-second mind in the world. He goes from A to Z in one move. He sees the essence of everything before you can even finish the sentence.
How does he do it? Through observing reality and running it against his mental models. In this series of videos, you’ll learn some of the most important models which Charlie Munger uses, which he has talked about publicly. These mental models have helped Munger to conquer the stock market, but they are so diverse that they have applications within many other areas too. For example, they have allowed Munger to be a successful Chairman at a large hospital, and they have allowed him to overcome devastating personal losses.
The series will cover a total of 35 of Charlie’s mental models. He says he has some 100 models in his head at all times, but he also says that a few of them carry most of the freight. I think that we’ll cover the most important ones in this series, which will be divided into 7 parts, will 5 models in each one. The models will primarily be related to investing, but also to associated subjects such as economics, entrepreneurship & career. Hope you enjoy.

I have studied Charlie and Warren for the last five years and it has been so helpful. Without them, I never would have landed my job I have now working at a large investment fund. I owe any “success” I have to them

@@nikolasovilj6169 I used to say I don’t need to go to university because I already know what I need to become successful. I realised that most of the things I knew, I couldn’t afford to see if they are truths or lies. I decided to go study economics in the Netherlands. Studying concepts while investing short term and long term. It will very educational to me academically and non academically. I suggest taking the path that defines you more.

People worship Warren buffet, but then slowly realize Charlie Munger is the real deal.
Haha if he was the real deal how come Buffett’s net-worth is over 40x Munger’s? no to take anything away from his ability to analyze financial data and educate himself. The difference is he is willing to talk and Buffett just repeats the same 10 or so concepts because he will never truly pass on his formulas!
@@patmarco2251 Munger has also mentioned his goal in life financially was to become independent, and not so much to achieve huge returns. Buffett's drive on the otherhand is huge returns

And to be honest some of Warren's best investment strategies and his favorite companies came from Charlie.
they are both the real deal in their own ways..which is why they are so yoked and in one accord with one another. perfect partnership.

wonderful insights and templates for the challenge called LIFE! Does Charlie have templates of the various subsets of the the sciences i.e wave theory, electro-magnetism, astronomy, biology, chemistry etc. Did Munger publish these templates? thanks in advance!
I disagree with the "don't try to work things out yourself". Maybe "don't ONLY try to work things out for yourself". But trying (and failing) to figure things out for yourself before looking at the solutions others have come up with is really important.

The advantage that books have over other learning media is that the eye movement required to read, disengages the fear mechanism in your basic brain structure. This makes entering into unknown territory far less stressful.📖
