This is a perfect example of how incredible sound design and perfect mixing enhance a performance. During the livestream I've found quite a lot of sounds to seem muddled. After listening to THIS version it's just INSANE how much details Alem put into it - so deserved that he moved on, insane technicality and skill!! HUGE shoutout for that great mixing!!

I might get attacked for this but I agree with zer0's statement on this, there's no old school or new school. You can listen to some beats from 2009 and still find it impressive or bop your head to it, it doesn't get old. You can also compare a round from 2012 to something from 2021 and see how they can sometimes be a fair match-up. It might not contain a ton of special sounds or bass but that doesn't make it old school, but in Alem's case he's using really complex and clean tech, no surprise he got top 8 here

i was so blown away and re-watching it now just shows me that alem is on another level. Every og beatboxers stopped battling but alem after all this time is still relevant and just shows that his style will never die. This elimination was perfect to me, he just showed everything he could show

Don't know whether there is a way to improve technical beats in loud speakers. It always benefits beatboxer with bass. Just want to hear Alem and Helium in their settings just once 🙏🏼

That was incredible! Alem has been one of my favourites for a long time and I needed something like this to de-stress and escape from reality after a tough day.
What a showcase! the way Alem built this routine up as it went along was outstanding and the sheer number of techniques being layered up, at a high tempo and all while never missing a single beat really shows why Alem is such a force to be reckoned with in the competitive beatbox world.
I love the shoutout opportunity at the end for the contestants to make sure if you find a cool new person, you can find more stuff of them and support them
This proves the fact that alem are still able to compete to all these younger guys. Big up for alem i grew up watching him until this day.

This was much better than it was in the livestream. You can really hear that a lot of Alem's sounds are less muddy. It's still not absolutely clean, but much cleaner than I thought he was in the livestream.
