  • @madhupjadhav1379

Most of these points on oils were covered in older Khader's videos... This is just like a summarization of that. However it would be really helpful if you make a video on the very basics of millets. Because since the introduction of millet to public its still not getting popular. Its not about just pricing. People are ready to spend money on something good...
My family is consuming millets since 3-4 years now, but still have not developed full interest over it... It is mainly because of the nature of millets... The rice made with millets become too pasty sticking to the vessel and getting difficult to serve with spoons. If we add more water it becomes too pasty, if we add less water it won't cook fully... Also it becomes overcooked (sometimes burnt) at the bottom and undercooked at the top. Sometimes the grains form lumps. On the other hand polished white rice gives the consistent granular texture even with reasonable variations in water quantity. People have got used to this. This makes it almost impossible for millets to be used in instant mixed rices (like Puliyogare, Chitranna, Vangibath, etc). The rottis made with it become too hard/brittle (compared to JoLa). The muddes also become hard & inconvenient (compared to Ragi). Even Idli/Rice also tend to become too dry... (BTW I soak it almost 12 hours! I take personal interest in soaking it as my wife keeps forgetting it!)
Another issue is millets is overpriced (I know the reason for this - the economic model, subsidy and other issues - Dr.Khader has explained everywhere) people are ready to pay, but after that you get millets which is probably difficult to process. Some seeds remain husked and create obstruction while chewing. And sometimes there are small stones left (I don't think this is adulteration or negligence - it is probably the difficulty of processing - as millets are too small for the machines to handle. BTW I buy only authentic unpolished millets from organic shops - before I am accused of buying adulterated polished cheap versions! I have roamed across everywhere for millets in this 3-4 years! I am not novice with millets! I have fair idea about structure & nature of millets!) Especially Korle which is sometimes priced more than 250, it feels bad when there are tiny stones & other woody materials in it. The organic shops are making conscious effort to process & pack it though, I don't have complaints over them as their business is dependent on this...
Looking at all these I think that the real value of millets & its best utility is possible only if people grow it themselves and process it themselves (like traditional pounding & cleaning methods practiced in villages) I think that can solve all the issues and people will also understand the best way to store it, soak it, cook it, recipes, etc. Also there might be best breeds in these millets also (like there are best breeds with wheat, rice, ragi, etc!) I think pound millets will have the best taste & are easier to cook (with the fibers slightly agitated & loosened). But this is not possible in the conventional world (a tiny rural sector serving the mass urban lands & transportation besides economical structure).
I guess the same thing will apply to oil or milk/ghee (or any other healthy means of food). I don't think the people (especially the retailers/sellers) will have the patience to wait for these gaanas to produce oils in such slow methods...
I appreciate your channel if you make several videos on these issues and make more mass people getting accustomed to millets. BTW I am aware of the healthy benefits of millets & also know that it can be the best tasty/healthy/eco-friendly food option.... But I am bothered about it not reaching the proper mass... My family have limited it for Bisibelebath/Pongal/Curd Rice (as it matches best for these recipes) I am happy that they at least use it for this! But I get it cooked daily to replace the white rice with sambar. (So they have to cook both the rice. My father & myself consume millets and the rest consume white rice). I know white rice is artificial. Grown artificially with fertilizers, processed artificially... But people are not ready to get convinced...

Madhu P Jadhav Yes these points have all been discussed earlier in several talks in bits and pieces . The intention is to bring all information on one topic , together, at one place ,so that it is easy for people newly being introduced to these topics to comprehend.
Yes again for people finding it difficult to cook with millets , but not because it is the nature of millets but because we have lost touch with cooking different kinds of grains .
And therefore our effort to make the tried and tested recipes ,with minute modifications and tips to adapt to millets, reach the people , MILLET MAGIC .
Following these we are able to regularly make soft roti ( yes must be eaten soon , cannot be kept for many hours and eaten later ), excellent biryani, pulav, vangibhath, puliyogre and mudde .It does take some extra effort initially untill we get used to it , but im sure with commitment anyone can .
Many people are thinking that it is not popular amongst the masses .
When we started this journey it was one family eating millets.
Now most people have heard about it , some use them occasionally and some regularly.
We are quite surprised and pleased that it has actually reached so many people , not just in India but even abroad.
Considering that what we are suggesting is quite the opposite of the general beliefs , we did not expect it to pick up so much momentum , so soon.
We appreciate that you intend it to reach more people quickly . But we are patient and hope for the best , even if it a slow change .
Point noted , we will talk about the core of why millets in the near future

Otherwise people may not believe that every brand is using mineral oils. It's quite lot of work and risk but I just thought of. If we are of any help please let me know.

If it is possible to reduce it further to 2 or 3 , it should be ok .
However , we would still like to promote bull driven Ghanis since we would be giving life to a few bulls which are otherwise ,most often , sent to the slaughter house as we want only the cows for their milk.
We will also be generating rural employment for people running the Ghani which wouldn’t happen if we replace everything by machines

It would be better than refined oils since it will. Not be adulterated
But still not the ideal way to extract as the pressure and heat factor is not eliminated and thus free radicals would be generated and the good elements will be destroyed to an extent

Thanks for such a knowledgable Video Dr. Sarala and Dr. Khadar. As Dr. Khadar Sir said in the video that for Deep frying it is good to use coconut oil. Like that, are oil interlinked with the seasons? Also, Dr. Khadar sir has also said take right oil everyday, what does this mean apart from the production aspect? Please let us know.

Please remove background music. It's very disturbing & absolutely unnecessary.

    • @milletmagic6609
      @milletmagic6609  3 роки тому +2

      It is not unnecessary
We have limitations of having lot of noise disturbance in the back ground since we do not have sound proof studios for recording
The background music helps to cover these noises to a certain extent
There are a lot of small issues which come up and can be experienced only while making these videos which everyone may not understand just by watching the videos
So please let us decide what is and what is not necessary

Absolute truth 👏🏾 Thanks for breaking down how unnatural these supposed natural products are. It's important to differentiate the different practices used domestically and then standardised in mass production 🙌🏾

What the father daughter duo have been talking about make a lot of sense. They seem to know what they are advocating. The combination of millets and kashayams sounds good. The other add-ons like structured water, bull driven wooden ghani oil and palm jaggery all appear very encouraging. The problem is where to get all this stuff from and of genuine quality. I am very keen to interact with either of them but don't know how. I may also draw attention to another doctor who advocates zero oil cooking. His name is Dr. Chhajer.

We are fortunate that millets are now available all over India
Also we aim to educate people as to how to identify genuine and good millets
      This is just the beginning
We have a long way to go
