As someone who was recently 16, you tend to see every 14 year old as younger sibling material because when I was 16 remembering myself as a 14 year old, I felt like I was comparing surprisingly different people. Maturity-wise you start to change a lot, it makes sense that he wouldn't like her that way because he still sees her as somewhat a kid. I've been 17 for about 5 months now. Also, it doesn't make sense that he'd toss aside Mai (who he's known for years) for someone who's hated him the majority of the time they've known eachother.

He knows where that road leads because, whether he admits it or not, he kind of likes her too. I can't prove anything, but you also can't prove it's just him being bad at flirting. It's just my interpretation of events based on what the characters say and how they act. But sure, just because "I can't prove that" means I'm 100% wrong.

This show is a treasured favorite of my entire family. Every now and again we still get together and watch the entire series and still laugh just as hard at all the goofy silly moments like Sokka with the rose waiting for Suki, and Toph telling Suki that she can let her drown now or Iroh pretending to be paralyzed by June‘s mount.
The fact that Yue is instantly so into Sokka's below garbage tier flirting is proof that there was some intense spiritual connection there. Either that or Sokka is just the most attractive man alive. Maybe gran gran dabbles in magic and when she saw a bit of his future she realized he was gonna need all the help he could get so she threw some blessings on him and one of them draws chicks like a cute outfit with big pockets.
Don't underestimate the possibility that the northern tribe boys were only interested in her for her position as the Chief's daughter and Sokka was the first to show an interest in her as a person. Shame about the whole becoming the moon spirit thing.
Do we all forget the time when Katara tried making a knitted hat out of leaves for Jet? Aang actually showed some smooth artistic talent when he spontaneously made that necklace out of fishline for Katara. 😆

@@yayagldz yeah i found kataang to be more brother/sister than zutara. zuko already has a strained relationship with his sister, but he treats katara differently. i feel like he would've treated her like he does azula if he saw her like a sister. with kataang, katara gives off major big sister vibes toward aang as well as mother vibes. i always felt that the kataang romance in the show was awfully forced.
I wouldn't call the last one with Zuko saving Katara "flirting," but the fact that he *shoves* Suki out of the way to get to Katara is just hilarious! And *then* he holds on to her longer than he should have. XD
What's amusing is Aang is attractive to Katara when he's himself pretty much as he was when they met (up to some pretty normal maturation that had nothing to do with trying to be attractive). Sokka is attractive to Suki when he learns to be specifically better than he was when they met. Katara mostly just had to work out that she was attracted to Aang. Suki always seemed to know what she wanted.
What makes this so much better is the fact that they are all teenagers so it’s going to be awkward as hell and it’s hilarious

His reluctance to even talk to her is more evidence of that. Sure, Zuko's no James Dean or whatever, but he's aware enough to know that a female is interested in him. He literally puts up a physical barrier so she won't kiss him.
He knows where that road leads because, whether he admits it or not, he kind of likes her too.
I can't prove anything, but you also can't prove it's just him being bad at flirting. It's just my interpretation of events based on what the characters say and how they act.

This show is a treasured favorite of my entire family. Every now and again we still get together and watch the entire series and still laugh just as hard at all the goofy silly moments like Sokka with the rose waiting for Suki, and Toph telling Suki that she can let her drown now or Iroh pretending to be paralyzed by June‘s mount.

What's amusing is Aang is attractive to Katara when he's himself pretty much as he was when they met (up to some pretty normal maturation that had nothing to do with trying to be attractive). Sokka is attractive to Suki when he learns to be specifically better than he was when they met.
Katara mostly just had to work out that she was attracted to Aang. Suki always seemed to know what she wanted.
