Hey Dan. I just started fletching my own arrows this year. I'm using an Arizona EZ fletch Mini Max, per your recommendation. As soon as I fletched my first batch of arrows, I immediately noticed that my groupings got significantly tighter. Thanks to your videos of course. I wouldn't have even thought of trying to fletch an arrow if it wasn't for you. Thanks Brother.
I've been using the Arizona EZ fetch but decided to graduate to a Bitz Left , and initially setting it up I see what most of everyone's talking about as far as not getting it even contact with the blade to the shaft, I was not keen on cutting the entire front end off so I used the grinding stone on my Dremel and took a significant amount off but not enough to make it look as if anything has been done, then I took a black sharpie and marked the entire length of the blade, and gave it a swipe crossed find sandpaper, and look for the edges that needed to be even out, didn't take me that long but I do see how you can be more precise with the Bitz over the Arizona , , I did then of course get my offset aligned to where a van gets a good purchase on the shaft, did a little bit of practicing with vanes and arrows that I won't use , may take a little longer but I think in the long run will be worth it , I will probably be ordering another one or two just to speed up my process . Keep putting out these vids Dan I've learned a lot from your channel and one of your very close associates MFJJ's channel ... and by the way I do have to put this out there, I don't know that I've ever seen you this quiet and any other video lol keep up the good work Dan
I bought the AAE bitz knob it works ok but I think zenith bitz upgrade kit solves the problem of arrow shaft contact better than cutting the clamp. You should tinker with one and see for yourself
Nick is about the first person I’ve seen that prefers a little heavy on the glue like me 😂 paper towels are the way to go, for me the qtips just add cotton to the glue that needs wiped 😂
Why did you go with MAX 2.0 Shield Cut vanes over the MAX 23 vanes for this arrow build? I picked up the AAE nock receiver to improve build process using your discount code from Black Ovis...
So the AAE knob allows you to index where the vanes sit? I know with the Bitz nock receivers you have to buy a TM knob to fletch cock vane up/down if you don't want to rotate the nock.
What about the turn knobs on the top of the bottom? I just use a straight fletch jig with my bitten burger but on the top one I loosen it and turn it to the right just a little bit one knob.
Why do people saw the end off the Bitzenberger clamp? I am thinking of buying an extra clamp just to try it. I've tried a umber of jigs but the Bitz seems the best to me.
Like my bitz! I like to use a wrap just for better glue adhesion. I’ve had vanes fly off more without a wrap. Also glue time is like 3 seconds and that baby is stuck stuck. To remove I just hold over steam (water kettle) for a few seconds then peel, usually have to repeat 3-4 times to completely remove all residue, probably takes 30 seconds an arrow? I feel that’s tougher, and more efficient on time, compared to holding down each vane for 20 seconds on bare shaft. Just a nobody’s unsolicited opinion 🤷🏽♂️ SE AK spring bears will hopefully start Poppin next week🤞🏽spring is taking her time up here!
Try bob smith industries glue. With or without the curing spray. Ill never buy another super glue for fletching. A lot of it comes down to prep too but that stuff is amazing and cheaper than most archery glues too. The one with the pinkish red label
I can't see the sense in buying a jig I'd have to take a grinder to and buy a knob that actually works without slop. Just stick with the ez fletch mini-max for best helical.
I always found it weird that all these people weigh out the arrows, vanes, inserts, nocks, and field tips/broadheads but still decide to add glue to the front and rear of the base of the vanes. I completely understand it’s done for extra strength from other arrows or complete pass throughs, but doesn’t that negate the fact that you just meticulously weighed everything and there’s no possible way to manipulate the glue to ensure everything is even vane to vane or arrow to arrow? I know glue doesn’t weigh a whole lot but it all adds up.
Last batch I did, I matched all the component weights (as per MFJJ) for SnGs. Once they were made up there was a 2-3gr difference between the lightest shaft and the heaviest shaft. Now, if I hadn’t matched all the components it would have been closer to 8-15gr Not worth doing for my skill level but it was a fun experiment. Measure the things you can measure and do your best with the rest
He doesn’t blush with a big grin and open eye stare directly into the camera like Clem-Shady so that’s a plus and hey we get another arrow fletching video from ElkSape….love it. I’ve been conversing a mod’d bitz…so bring in more details please.

Thank you for sharing this great information. Keep doing what you do

OMP Phoenix Fletching Jig!!!
Test it Test it Test it!!!
Does it do Helical like the Mini Max ???

I need to cut off the front of mine. I know you made a video about that, I just can’t remember what it was titled.
I’d like to see that video as well!
I have never tipped my vanes. And never had no problems with them coming off.

2-3gr is a lot. I’m typically getting within .5gr between a dozen arrows.
That’s the kind tried and true
It does not seem like the price and the amount of modifications and problems are worth it for the bitz
Who’s the new guy popping up in your videos?

No more mfjj?
I need more details it seems like you are rushing through the video
