- Sometimes, pixels aren’t the right choice. Vector graphics don’t use pixels to comprise an image, like raster graphics do. Instead, they use a sequence of points to create fluid shapes -- like a game of connect the dots. Vector graphics are useful for logos, illustrations, billboards, and many other use cases.

Is it possible to combine vector and raster graphics in the same scene? Like in a video game?
That's what 3d renderers do when applying texture mapping to polygons. Play Quake and walk up to a wall, then walk away. You know everything you need to from that.
