You're not really thinking about the bigger picture. Imagine "best shape" being like a scale of 1 to 100%. 100% being a perfect physical human being. Being 100% at 58 is different than being 100% in your 20-30's. The body is only capable of so much after a certain point. To argue Mike was 100% in his earlier years implies perfection which he was not. Goated yes, not perfect. I'd argue he's closer to 100% in terms of what his body is capable of at this moment in time than he was when he was younger even if only by a single percent.

i really want tyson to win but i’m prepared to be disappointed. the man is pushing 60. he’s not hungry like he once was. you can tell he actually likes jake. just doing this for money. none of this is promising. jake might be a gimmick as far as boxers go but he’s 30 years younger with a lot more to prove.
Even if he loses I don't think his reputation will suffer much. People will still know in his prime how good he was. I don't know much about boxing but I know from things I've seen and heard Tyson was one of the best
