As a telephone technician I've worked inside of many of those homes and on those streets for over 20 years. I've never had any problems and have met so many nice people throughout. The conditions that have befallen the area are disheartening and hopefully things change somehow.

When you come to the Southside, hit streets off of Market St, South Ave and hit streets off of Glenwood💪🏾 Make sure you Stop by Shells on Avondale/Market St and just sit there🤣 You can make a channel just filming that gas station 🤣🤣

I moved in 96. It's surprisingly cleaner for the eastside. As for the danger all I see are abandoned streets. The roads are much worse. I barely see anyone else on the road or outside. Where are the drug dealers on the corners?

I grew up on the West Side. Graduated from Chaney in 1977. I remember when the steel mill closed. Those were dark times for sure. Now Youngstown is just pitiful. The family i have that still lives there says there's really no good job opportunities, but they don't want to move

My great great grandfather on my mother's side built a house at 1212 Arch Street back in ~1917. My great grandpa and my grandpa lived there. In 2000 it burned to the ground when it's current occupant fell asleep smoking a cigarette. Makes me sad--they're all gone now and I would have liked to see the place that they grew up and made memories.

I only have a few family members still there and it's so depressing when I go to Youngstown for a visit! I wish the old Youngstown could come back but I don't see it happening.
