The Repairman - "Upgrades" [ ASMR ]

- The Repairman upgrades your optics as requested by Professor Clemmons', then performs routine diagnostics to check the health of your system.
In other words, my 2011 HD camcorder died Monday night (11/17) prior to this video. After spending all night until 2AM determining what I should replace it with, I decided it was time I performed a serious upgrade. I ended up acquiring the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH4 camera along with the Panasonic Lumix Vario 12-35mm f/2.8 OIS lens.
This video serves as a real test in a variety of ways. It's my first time filming with a DSLR and lens using manual focus and manual exposure for this length of time, as I needed to get acclimated to performing ASMR videos in front of it. I'm more than pleased with the results. The last time I owned a DSLR was the Canon 20D back in 2005. This is also a test of the camera and lens capabilities, including 4k (all footage except for the slow motion parts) and slow motion. GH4 native Slow Motion was made even slower in Post Production for certain parts like the match lighting. Again, they perform above expectations. The final video is rendered in 1080p, however, stay tuned for full 4k ASMR videos in the future. Expect some full length ASMR slow motion videos in the future.
Thanks for watching and for your support. I especially want to thank my Patrons, as you can clearly see the upgrade and investment in the new camera equipment is a vast improvement, and this is only the beginning of the kind of high quality you can expect to see going forward. I also wanted (ie. felt obligated) to show my Patrons that I'm not using their money to go on expensive cruises or making personal purchases, and that their generous contributions are going towards the improvement of this channel, even if that's not necessarily why they may be supporting me. This camera will only be used for UA-cam videos and other video projects, just like all the other props and equipment that I purchase to use for my channel.

What is ASMR?
ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and is the current (non-scientific) name given to the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering and personal attention.
My videos are not only meant to help induce ASMR or "tingles", but also help provide a relaxing, calming and soothing experience for the viewer while helping to relieve their anxiety relief, stress relief, insomnia relief, to help those suffering with PTSD or depression, to serve as a study aid and much more.

Congrats on your new camera! Looks fantastic! Focussing manually can be very tricky if there's no second person to operate the camera (which would probably cause background noise), but I'm sure you'll get used to it! Keep up the great work! :)

I was surprised with how much I enjoyed this video. It's one of my favorites now. What I like the most about it is that I'm imagining the repairman is talking to himself and not to me. I don't feel the pressure to listen or to be engaged. I feel allowed to turn my brain off, which helps a lot when I'm trying to get some rest. I know a lot of people deeply enjoy videos what feature close personal attention, and while that would describe this video, as the viewer I don't feel directly acknowledged. I really like that fly-on-the-wall experience.
I really enjoy how you take on different characters and roles. It's really nice to have some variety to choose from when I'm wanting to relax. Keep up the awesome work.
Yeah I agree like if I'm not in the mood for a specific character i can just choose one at random also I like that he has an entire mythos for his cast of colorful (possibly deranged and or not human) characters it keeps me invested and I can't NOT KEEP GOING UNTIL TGE MYSTERY IS SOLVED)

This is one of my favorites i've ever seen. So many triggers for me in one video, that I actually experienced full body tingles the first time I saw it instead of the usual neck and back of the head, which is how i normally experience ASMR.

Yes! Been waiting for another Repairman video! This was great but my favorite of the Repairman saga is still Repairman 2. I watch it all the time whenever I am stressed over school work at college. Which is quite a lot. "Hmph stick o' gum" love it!
so many things going on in all of your videos. amazing and over the top role plays with some really cool gear youre either wearing or tinkering around with. Great audio. lighting is on point (especially in this video).
Also, you definitely have the best caption adding skills out there for what its worth lol. i usually look forward to seeing what youre gonna do with the title screens text. It just gives it a professional touch i guess lol.

I've been on swing shift this whole week and my sleep pattern is so whacked right now that this is about all I can find that will help me relax and drift off. I think it's the intensity of focus and attention to the process that are make it so mesmerising.

I fell asleep quickly listening to this in bed and at some point it became less unintelligible and I thought there was a man in my apartment talking. I sat bolt upright ready to confront this creeper when I realised I was wearing earphones and still listening to an ASMR video. I don't think my heart has ever beat

Kinda liked him more when he was mumbling instead of whispering. These help me concentrate in work. My mind wonders very easily, so I listen to ASMR videos in the background to keep focused.

Reading the comments I'm guessing the inaudible whispering was intentional. However, I found myself turning up the volume to hear your words. I ended up enjoying the louder sounds more and heard more than I would have if I had just accepted the aforementioned condition. Thanks for the video.
