I've set up my mother-in-law who is 90 years old with an iPhone 7 256GB, Apple Watch 3 LTE, and an iPad mini 2 LTE 16GB - and it all works fine for her. She only uses the iPad for web browsing and nook eBooks though. But everything still syncs all her photos, messages and email through the cloud!
Yeah it’s amazing how well these old apple devices still work in 2024. iPhone 7 is on iOS 15 and still performs very good and a lot of apps still support iOS 15. I’m not sure about the Apple Watch cuz I’ve never had one but for the iPad mini 2 its latest iOS version is 12.5.7 and although you can’t download a lot of apps you still can download UA-cam , Netflix, Instagram, and some other apps that support iOS 12, also it does web browsing well still and you can airdrop and there’s alot of other features that make the iPad mini still usable in 2024! Thanks for watching my video and commenting I appreciate it!
@@Allthingslife30isn’t that how it’s supposed to be. It’s funny how we’ve just accepted the lack of durability and adaptability as a norm today…. And when something actually does, we’re surprised 😂
@@Allthingslife30 She had a full size iPad 1 since 2011, I think; and then went to a Mini 1 which had the battery swell until the screen popped off last year. When her Mini 2 goes to iPad heaven we have a Mini 4 128GB waiting as a backup for her. I also have a spare Apple Watch 3 LTE, and a spare 7+ or iPhone 8 in case someone kills a phone. The old gear lasts us a long time, although I'm on a 14 Pro Max and iPad mini 7 right now, with a 11 month old Apple watch Ultra 2 that does pulse ox.
Thanks for watching, as for the iPad mini 2 being worth it for $40? I think it really depends on what you expect from it, and realistically it’s not the best choice due to the software limitations, lack of good camera, hardly any apps are supported on iOS 12 so I wouldn’t recommend geting one for $40. It’s worth it in my opinion if you only want to do light web browsing, watching UA-cam which still works fine, it’s not perfect but it’s definitely worth using for UA-cam if your on a budget and need a quick cheap device. I would recommend looking into iPad mini 4 and up as they have more app support!
Yeah in most cases I agree, this iPad is very outdated and can’t even download most apps, but if you only wanna use it for UA-cam and light web browsing then I think it’s worth buying as a cheap back up device if your on a budget. You can sometime find this iPad mini 2 for $20 or $30 bucks too but I’d definitely recommend iPad mini 5th gen or newer
@@Allthingslife30 for example,if your Iphone, ipad, ipod or any other ios device is jailbroken you can install any IPA (ios app package) even if it's not in the app store anymore, you just need the file.

Can I use GarageBand ?
No I don’t think it’s supported on this iPad anymore
How long it charges till complete 100 %
I think it charged pretty fast, I was using a fast charger I think it was compatible with it and fully charged in about an hour
If you jailbreak it yes
What does jailbreak do or allow you to do on the iPad mini 2??
