i loved vanguard since it was the first card game that made me want to go and play TCG and i loved this arc since it was new to me i finished the Original arcs but i dropped it when it comes to new seasons and focused on yu gi oh but i still love this even the tournament arc

In hindsight, this fight really bothers me. Why didn't Aichi just take the fourth damage so he could activate Gancelot Zenith's Limit Break? He'd already healed away the two CBs he used for Blaster Blade's skill, so resource management wouldn't be a problem down the road for Monarch Sanctuary Alfred. Additionally, why didn't Aichi keep attacking Kai's rear guards to keep him from reaching 4 damage? That would have stopped him from using both Dragonic Overlord's Break Ride, and DOTR's Limit Break, so he would only have one Vanguard attack, and fewer rear guards to attack with, which could also choke DOTR in the future. I know the answer is that it's just a show, not real life, but they have shown characters playing with real strategy in the past, so it bugs me.
Because then it wouldn't be cinematic.
If Aichi had 4 damage then he would've lost during Overlord the Rebirth's attack. Kai got a critical during the first Vanguard attack. And Aichi could only guard against 1 Vanguard attack too

I noticed when he rode to gancelot he called meron a 10k attacker and attack dragonic overlord an 11k body and he guards with a draw
He actually attacked the rear guard.
He attack burnout not overlord (vanguard). The translator probably misheard burnout for vanguard. Happens twice in this episode if I'm not mistaken
I was gonna say, I had to do a double take but attacking the rear guard would make sense.
Why did kai retire Bruno. Should have retired cheer up trumpeter. It would affect alot on aichi
Bruno can gain power if he uses Alfred, that and Aichi would have a good booster.

Really depends on card's skills I guess.
On simple retiring and superior calling decks like paladins and kagero/ narukami it's not very useful.
If it were grand blue/ genesis/ pale moon/ tachikaze though, it might have a different story.
