It is a great project. But using wood for buildings causes us to cut trees, how it can be not dangerous for our environment?
Great question, I've been thinking about that. The thing about harvesting timber is that it can be not just sustainably managed but actually a net positive to the health of a forest. The problem is clear cutting and not replanting- Most of the time it's to free up land for cattle grazing and not for the timber itself. If wood becomes a material that replaces steel and concrete, there will be a huge incentive to keep replanting. Not to mention that the way steel and concrete are manufactured today is so detrimental that it accounts for almost 10-15% of all carbon emissions globally. I think there is a place for a natural material like wood to provide a way forward.
