My SL3 is the piece of gear that brought me into the digital age. Before that I was only using analog gear. Never have and may never get into cdjs. I mean i had some software like virtual dj, pcdj, but never was it what I was able to use, be comfortable with, or willing to use on a live gig. The S.L. 3 bridged that gap for me. It will always hold a special place for me and can say for certain it was one of the major things that changed how djs perform their craft.
I feel you bro! I still have my SL1. I used it for about 10 years plus and then upgraded the Traktor Pro 3. Nothing in between. Even though I have a new love for the Traktor ecosystem, I can't find myself to give my SL1 up. It brought me back to DJing when the cost of vinyl was too rich for my blood. I couldn't afford to keep up with the new music at the time. But with the SL1 I could spin my mp3 collection with DVS and my old turntable and mixer. A total game changer! Anyways just wanted to share my experience with you and my SL1. Keep up the good work with your channel.
I dual boot my mid 2010 MacBook Pro. The main boot is High Sierra, and my DJ partition is Snow Leopard with Serato Scratch Live 2.5. I noticed performance dropouts etc with newer Mac OS version. Although lately, I’ve been buying lots of vinyl and less digital.
9:20 question: Motorized platters with cue points on Numark V7’s. Yes, I bought two individual tanks because a mk1 NS7 was overkill to me. There was a roll function with the shift key plus loops. I could play the rolls and “slip” reverse/censor. Serato ITCH is godlike and my preferred toy is the Novation Twitch. Thanks for the video
Just reinstalled Windows 10 on my old Laptop to use my Rane SL2 just to find out that the newest Serato DJ Pro does not recognize it anymore. Its really a shame. Perfectly good hardware. Using the last supported version now (which is 2.5.5). I blame Rane for this more than Serato, because it is on Rane to make the Asio driver compatible with new Windows versions. Serato had no other option to drop it, when the Asio driver receives no updates.
Ok, I need to work out a solution now. What are the options when you use an analog mixer and still want to use Serato? Or are y'all going to switch mixers with a built in audio interface?

The SL1 Sounded like hot garbage compared to the SL3/4 and even in 2022 the SL4's converters are still industry standard (24-bit / 48 kHz or 96 kHz) apart from the Pioneer CDJ-3000 (32-bit) All Rane had to do is charge a licence fee every 1 or 2 years to continue support for SeratoDJ Pro. When I bought my SL4 £769.00 I thought I would have Serato updates for life, my SL4 is now on eBay. I won't be buying any Rane hardware again! Traktor is way more powerful and still the King of DJ software imo.
the unsupported rane sl 2/3/4 and denon dj ds1 are a great loss as primary interfaces not just for DVS but most importantly that it activates the midi functions in Serato DJ pro without it external controllers are not an available option , serato needs to unlock the audio / midi panes in dj pro just like serato studio this should be in 3.0 or as an expansion pack for Serato DJ pro , a have numerous midi controllers supported by serato none of which can control or connect to dj pro without an additional primary interface , also also if I wish to send audio from the virtual decks a / b to a dj mixer or a mixing desk as decks a / b 4 separate channels. this is not possible, don't get me wrong I love 2.6 & 3.0 but without the ability to control and route audio and midi to what ever sound system is available it is not a viable system , of course there is the current supported hardware , quickly discontinued and unsupported route by rane, serato and others , this is not a solution to the initial problem, they should all take a long look at Traktor and others with their universal approach to connect ability,
and when the end a controllers mixers etc. and looks in this graveyards and yes this is a powerfull in past but once end thats it because 2 tt and mixer or 2 player is a rule and ears not eyes
Sucks whats happening... Ive got 64 n 62 and both now wont work on win10 after windows updates. Also just got new laptop with win11 and was thinking it would run serato great with low latency....boy was I wrong....no support so won't work at all. Bad bad bad rane/serato

As costumer perspective, you should be able to use something that still works and you actually paid for it. That should give you the right to use something until it brakes down. I feel like it's almost like a slap on the face when companies do stuff like this, make their products obsolete so you keep consuming their newer products it is a bad strategy for loyal customers that have been there since the beginning. That's the same reason why I bought scratch in the beginning because I wouldn't want to give up on vinyl.

I still have my box and my software I'm not going to never get rid of it all that s*** do the same thing only thing different is the sound effects that's a good box people don't like all the wires in the back and I had most of everything new pioneer I use either one you get the job done they can keep on making all they want they ain't going to stop nothing here and to all the DJs use what's best for you everybody can't be like everybody take it for your friend DJ and good luck
Traktor is way more powerful and still the King of DJ software imo.
its a shame because we people with not much money can pick them up cheap as chips . and get back into djing
the unsupported rane sl 2/3/4 and denon dj ds1 are a great loss as primary interfaces not just for DVS but most importantly that it activates the midi functions in Serato DJ pro without it external controllers are not an available option , serato needs to unlock the audio / midi panes in dj pro just like serato studio this should be in 3.0 or as an expansion pack for Serato DJ pro ,
a have numerous midi controllers supported by serato none of which can control or connect to dj pro without an additional primary interface , also also if I wish to send audio from the virtual decks a / b to a dj mixer or a mixing desk as decks a / b 4 separate channels. this is not possible,
don't get me wrong I love 2.6 & 3.0 but without the ability to control and route audio and midi to what ever sound system is available it is not a viable system , of course there is the current supported hardware , quickly discontinued and unsupported route by rane, serato and others ,
this is not a solution to the initial problem, they should all take a long look at Traktor and others with their universal approach to connect ability,
I Selling my SL3 for 3 Days why i bought A Macbook Air 2020 😥😔
also the #NumarkV7 got discontinued
I left serato and moved to dvs on rekordbox
What’s your DJ drop fx Keo??🤔🤔

@@DJKeo like “ DJ Keo on the beat” sample
@@bboymac84 I had a couple of you are now listening to DJ Keo I got some girls to record them for me
@@DJKeo nice!!

The irony is , you can’t use SL3 with updated Serato DJ but you can with updated Rekordbox… shame on Serato !
Sucks whats happening...
Ive got 64 n 62 and both now wont work on win10 after windows updates.
Also just got new laptop with win11 and was thinking it would run serato great with low latency....boy was I wrong....no support so won't work at all.
Bad bad bad rane/serato
I just bought a new laptop with windows 11 and serato 2.5.5. worked. Then I did an update on my laptop and now Serato isn't working. Any suggestions on what I should do? Apparently Windows 11 doesn't work with 2.5.5. but it worked when I took the laptop out of the box 🙈
@@kenshiroFNS duel boot it with a win 10 partition for serato
@@thisall4real thanks for the reply. I ended up uninstalling serato and rane (the drivers I believe). Then reinstalled and now it works, with Windows 11. I'm so confused lol. I don't know how it's working but thank God
@@thisall4real I also deleted Virtual DJ. Do you think it might have been the cause and interfered with Serato? Its either that or because I did a Windows update
@@kenshiroFNS what hardware are you using? Im sure older rane stuff wont work after win10(certain build)
I accidentally updated it and now it’s a paperweight
Reloop has come to the rescue with a solution
@@DJKeo thank you
@@DJKeo What is the solution?

anyway to get a version for sl3
Numark NS7II and Serato Scratch.
That's the same reason why I bought scratch in the beginning because I wouldn't want to give up on vinyl.
what a dumb take
