*Unlike the many flavours* of Boeing 737, the Ilyushin IL-96-300 is a twin-aisle long haul widebody. It has four engines because at the time it was designed, its Aviadvigatel PS-90 turbofans were prone to software bugs, fuel systems fires, and fan blade failures. *This particular airframe,* registry RA-96014, is eighteen years old and has changed ownership four times through three insolvent airlines into the hands of Rossiya Airlines' state-operated Special Flight Detachment.
It is about a width of a340 and length of the shortened b747. Its prototype, Ilyushin 86 was longer. The issue was with the engines - nk86 of Il-86 were more powerful than ps90 of Il-96. Therefore the airframe was a bit squeezed to be lifted by 4 ps90 turbofans. Anyway il-96 had nothing to do with b737
Very sad to see this. Having the diplomats expelled is not easy after that getting things back to what they used to be. I think a lot of countries acted too quickly and very wrong. Yes war is not a good thing. But even the US has made war with several countries because their leaders wanted their own ways. Maybe the problem lays with the Ukraine leader? Has anyone thought of that?maybe if he was to try and make peace rather than ask for more weapons things could be better? Maybe if Europe and the US had a nutral stand this war could have ended sooner with least lives lost? What ever the case it all seems to be going very wrong and tomorrow doesn't look so bright for any of us. I just hope all ends soon and a peaceful resolution can be found without international intervention.
Maybe the stupid leader of Russia should stay on his side of the fence and not cause problems. The rest of the world would rather spend our time making the world better and not pollute the air with bombs and diesel powered tanks just to take his neighbor's assets when through trade he could just "borrow" them.
@@littlesheep392 the question is what made him jump that fence in the first place. Surly he is not stupid because if he was then everyone would try and stop him. And to see why all this is happening one needs to go back to 2014 and see what's been happening since then until now.
