This show is a classic. I'm surprised no one ever considered a theatrical adaptation of it. It would certainly be a challenge for any new cast to capture the energy and wit of the original!
I had completely forgotten about this sitcom I am so glad that there is somewhat upon it. It made me laugh through the whole video. You just can't beat the classics
@@TheSirmousavi The General is talking about the "plague" his mother-in-law has "died" from. But the script-writers meant it as the Nazi's spreading across Europe.
I first saw this series when I was in my early teenage years and Michelle was the first character I saw that showed a woman taking charge and fighting for what she believed in. I like to think of her as a great role model for all young women. Her plans don't always work out (well lets face it, they never work), but she never loses hope or gives up.
One of my favorite sitcoms, right up there with Father Ted. Too bad the US networks will never make something so good. Sam Kelly as Captain Hans Geering was my favorite.
Fantastic. Great fun. Thx a lot. 10:35: They forgot the funniest line in the whole show: (Old woman): "Why are the knobs on my bed flashing?". Rene: "Because where you are going it's pitchblack". He-he.
My children will tell you that their childhood was full of - " listen very carefully- I shall say this only once! " lol. They were the best. Hilarious series..

@@dca-Letsplay Well I am a great fan of the two of them. I think one just has to move with the times though as we can get stuck with living in the past.
I love allo allo I remember going to London to see the live show with this cast it was absolutely hilarious then went again about 2 weeks later one of the best comedy shows ever
This show is a little bit before my time but I remember my farther watching it and always having a good laugh. I also love the show, it would of been wicked to see it live
I saw the live show too, absolutely magnificent. When Arthur Bostrum (the 'French' policeman) first came on stage and uttered the immortal 'good moaning' the roar from the crowd was something else. One of the funniest nights of my life.
I saw it live here in Christchurch New Zealand. 90% of the cast live on stage back in about 1989. A brilliant show of which I can remember parts clearly.
Today's sitcoms are funny? Name one...just one... didn't think so...they stopped being funny when the PC police showed up and ruined everything for comedy because you could no longer 'offend' anyone or anything....the essence of comedy, making fun of things... we have become too 'sensitive' and lost the ability to laugh with ourselves...
"Edith, if this plan of yours goes wrong, there will not be a wall in Nouvion big enough to shoot us all against." I don't remember in what episode Rene said this line, but it pretty much sums up the entire series. LOL. This show is by far my favorite Brit Com ever. Almost every line is laugh out loud funny.
I love the English policeman who tries to speak French but always cocks it up usually saying rude words. Then when they ask the policeman to talk to the English airmen he speaks in an English accent which all Americans think all English people talk like it’s absolutely brilliant program. And also Gordon Kaye as Renee was absolutely brilliant with all the women in the show fancy the pants off him and want to sleep with him is just another brilliant running joke in the show. And when Renee is kissing the girls and his wife walks in and we get “You stupid woman” line. I spent some time in Germany and Allo Allo is very popular over there, I was surprised to see Germans finding an English show about WW2 and the German occupation of France funny but they do and the Germans I spoke too loved (I can speak German so I didn’t misunderstand what I was being told)
I’m an American that loves shows like “The Office” and “Friends”. I somehow stumbled upon “Allo Allo” highlights and these clips are hilarious 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I might have to find a way to way the entire series lol
The cows remind me of the scene in "Top Secret". The men were dressed as a cow. They crossed a field with a bull that found the cow attractive . The men in the cow costume walked funny for a week.
i think the writers ripped it off directly, used to happen sometimes in the 80's and 90's as not everyone had seen top secret in Britain. I remember Fred Macauley had a show once that ripped off a joke from the movie Kingpin which had been out for about a year and it was so blatant that i believe whatever writer pitched that was just being lazy

Somebody ask me a question! What do I think about the sitcom Allo Allo. My answer would be! Superb and very funny. My advice don't drink or eat when watching this brilliant sitcom.
Clever and funny comedy with a nod to reality, long before the fun police or the "Be Nice" edict. Many comedies have become taboo or arrestable offences, except foul language, mocking the disabled, and anything else deemed fair game by the hypocrites. Allo' Allo' escaped Ofcom censors while "It Aint Half Hot Mum" - which the BBC still sells on DVD - did not. Jimmy Perry once blasted BBC 'Oxbridge graduates' for not acknowledging the 'real world'.
A great concept with somewhat average writing but with moments of brilliance and actors who totally got what they were doing. I loved the “I am teaching her self defense” line from when he got sprung with waitress. Its much more python than seinfeld
Does anyone remember 10-15 years ago a BBC COMEDY about 2 old guys? My husband & I caught it for a few weeks then it was off.
