James, I am so sorry for your loss. Dankest just said he did the same for his brother, Mike, who died. I just lost my brother, Mike, one month ago in a tragic accident. Pain and grief are such a shared emotion. I was standing on our deck singing Redemption Song when I started to cry but I kept singing with tears streaming down my face. It was then that I remembered my brother loved Bob Marley as I have for over 40 years. The line, "Emancipate yourself from mental slavery no one else can free your mind", is very significant for me. Slowly we will all free ourselves from the slavery of grief. May God bless you both.
He knew he was going to die far sooner than later when he wrote this. It was his last gift to all of us. Thats why it evokes an emotional response from me every time, no matter how may times I hear Redemption Song.

Bob marley is one of the greatest minds to have ever lived on this planet what a man, what a song writer and what great loss he was passing at such a young age
@@rebeccahenson1234 He is correct, Bob Marley's last song was " Jah will be waiting there " you can see how sick he was in the picture. He also knew he was dying.
Bob Marley is truly an intergenerational revolutionary. 42 years (in 2023) since his death and he still imparts wisdom to the current generation. Like other revolutionaries, he lives in the hearts of billions across the world. He lives in millions of Kenyan and African hearts who yearn for the day they will truly be free from social, economic and political oppression.
I heard this song for the 1st time the other day after a smoke and it was one of the most beautiful experiences, I truly FELT every word, when he sings "cause all I ever had" gives me goosebumps. Such a beautiful song ❤
This song is a masterpiece, as relevant today as ever. In just the first verse he resumes the history of the most brutal human exploitation then follows up by leaving us with the blueprint of what each one of us needs to be done for our redemption, from “Won’t you help to sing, these songs of FREEDOM” to “Emancipate yourself from mental slavery” - he reminds us that liberation is both an inner personal experience but most specially an act of solidarity to the other. The "emancipate yourself" part is oft quoted but freedom as action, he repeats it twice...every single word carries deep meaning of this song, like most of his spiritual/political songs. I think Bob Marley was a prophet and we shouldn't just worship the beauty of reggae and how cool the songs sound but also honor him by closely following up to his call to action. "Rise up freedom fighters, Rise and take your stance again."
Was in Negril Jamaica a couple years ago and heard a Jamaican singing this song as he walked along a newly constructed big hotel chain ..will never forget that ..it echoed down the street !!One love from Canada 🇨🇦❤🇯🇲

Dear Tuff Gong, I am a huge Bob Marley fan. I love to collect Marley memorabilia. Vinyl records, CDs, DVDs, and more. Every time I listen to “Live!” and “Babylon By Bus”, I always get goosebumps. Marley’s music hits me in a different way. I’m a teenager, so I don’t listen because of the relaxation or the trend. I listen because of the music. One good thing about music is when it hits you you feel no pain. I love Marley’s concerts because of the way he interacts with the crowd. It’s amazing. I would love for you guys to release more concert footage in HD, especially from the Manhattan concert in 1975. I would also love for you guys to release the full complete audio from the pavilion concert in 1978 (Some audio from the performance shown in Babylon By Bus). It would mean a lot to me and all the Marley fans around the world. Would love to hear back from you guys! Thank you! Sincerely, A 14 year old Bob Marley fan.
Doesn't matter if you first got here today or if your returning to an "old friend" that you have known for years/decades. Bobs music is medicine in its self, soothes your soul and brings love & hope for us ALL, Being 55 I turned my children on to Bob early in their lives and tried for them to realize its not just the words or the music but the feelings they capture. Only wish I have is for the whole world is to have a 420 and listen to Bob, truly listen with your heart. WE are ALL children of this Earth, love your brothers & sisters more then yourself

This song will forever remind me of my dad who sadly passed away 2 years ago. I'm 30 years old now and I remember when we would drive in our old Toyota, my dad playing this album on cassette player and me thinking how amazing that song is. Tear rolls down my eye even today when I hear it. 😢 Love you dad ❤
My first Bob Marley cassette was borrowed from my dad. I heard his song on a commercial and it resonnated. Been a fan since 13 years. My dads been gone too long and the grief never leaves. Marley cheers me up. But not loss of love.
It moves me, yet makes me melancholy, when I listen today to songs that were everywhere around, in my head continuously, when I was a youngster. Today, I listen to them, and appreciate how great and prescient they really are. Listen well. Blessings to you all.

“My music will go on forever. Maybe it's a fool say that, but when me know facts me can say facts. My music will go on forever.”
He knows his music is beneficial for the people. His message will only get stronger.
Past away in 1981 and he is still relevant, Man is a true Legend

Lost for Words You are one lucky geeza. How was it?
Lost for Words I can imagine his energy bouncing off all the corners inside, as he sings songs that will satisfy the souls of many many generations to come
I truly believe that.
Bob Marley shall be forever immortal 🙏🔥
Martin Luther the king made the greatest speech of all time, Bob Marley made a National anthem for the conscious society ....our Prophets will live forever #🇿🇦🙌🏾✊🏾
It may sound pathetic but I cried many times listening to this song because I truly feel a deep message behind it that shakes my spirit and touches my heart.
Not at all pathetic that is our lord speaking to our souls. We are the lucky ones
When I was a child I didnt speak english, I remember my BEST friend and I listening this song and starting crying both, even without any knowledge of the lyrics we could understand the meaning.
It was 45 years ago. I still feel the same today and It is a privilege to understand today.
Good heritage from Bob
Bob was a definitely a holy man.
This song had saved me countless times
Music best form of therapy ❤️

I sang this to my brother while he lay dead in an ICU room after a coma. I miss you Bobby.
Sorry to hear that James. I hope you find peace. And I hope your brother did before passing.
😭
May God bless you, James. My last remaining brother died in an accident on Nov. 9, 2022. Please know, I understand your pain. My heart truly breaks for you.
Same when I lost my brother Mike
I feel connected to something bigger when hearing Bob Marleys words.
Yes me to. Totally
amen brother

Marley's got a point, don't stand by the side of the white, or the black, but if you stick by gods side, life will end good for you. Hope he's having a good time in heaven.

Mine too, such a special song forever and always.
Old pirates, yes, they rob I
Sold I to the merchant ships
Minutes after they took I
From the bottomless pit
But my hand was made strong
By the hand of the Almighty
We forward in this generation
Triumphantly
Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom?
'Cause all I ever have
Redemption songs
Redemption songs
Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery
None but ourselves can free our minds
Have no fear for atomic energy
'Cause none of them can stop the time
How long shall they kill our prophets
While we stand aside and look? Ooh
Some say it's just a part of it
We've got to fullfil the book
Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom?
'Cause all I ever have
Redemption songs

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery
None but ourselves can free our mind
Woah, have no fear for atomic energy

My grandad once saw Bob handing out clothes to children, out of a van in Jamaica. My grandad had this song playing at his funeral.
I saw Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers in Philly , he did all his dad's songs... one of the best concerts I've been to !
Aww sorry for your loss
Your grand was a lucky man ,my condolences on your loss .
Your grandpa sounds awesome! I hope he lived a long and happy life.

Bob marley is one of the greatest minds to have ever lived on this planet what a man, what a song writer and what great loss he was passing at such a young age
"How long shall they kill our prophets, while we stand aside and look" hits hard 😔😔😔
Keep the faith despite all challenges and know as Bob sings, "We forward in this generation, triumphantly."
The fact this was his last song makes it that much more powerful tear up everytime truly words of beauty
the last song on his last album while he was alive.
His last song is Jah will be waiting there.

How this song can speak to every one is so powerful. At every stage of my life, I find a new meaning of this song.
"We forward in this generation, Triumphantly!" This is why we need Andrew Yang and the Forward Party. Not left, or right, forward.
I find what I feel was the intended meaning, it’s time to act
Bob Marley is truly an intergenerational revolutionary. 42 years (in 2023) since his death and he still imparts wisdom to the current generation. Like other revolutionaries, he lives in the hearts of billions across the world. He lives in millions of Kenyan and African hearts who yearn for the day they will truly be free from social, economic and political oppression.

"Our armageddon has past.." , "..our deliverance is at hand " Haile Selassie address to African nations....
I heard this song for the 1st time the other day after a smoke and it was one of the most beautiful experiences, I truly FELT every word, when he sings "cause all I ever had" gives me goosebumps. Such a beautiful song ❤
Drop the weed and focus. Too much weed ain’t no good
Octave, Marcel and Bob; thank you all and many blessings wherever you are.
Get up stand up.
Indeed 🙏🏾
Was in Negril Jamaica a couple years ago and heard a Jamaican singing this song as he walked along a newly constructed big hotel chain ..will never forget that ..it echoed down the street !!One love from Canada 🇨🇦❤🇯🇲
Some of these drawings are a reflection of the first established Christianity churches of Addis Ababa that were literally carved into the bed rock foundations. Archeologists just recently discovered them within the last few years.

I think we are lucky to witness this song,I don’t think in millions of years to come if any , we can ever listen to a song that touched yesterday, today and the future of mankind.
This is more than everyday song.

Pure soul!! Im crying tears of joy BUT also pain. Bob marley is the Tupac of reggae, just as Tupac is the Bob Marley of rap. Conscious intelligent spiritually awakened..both say life is about progress. Both pac and Marley were living legends ahead of their time the, the positive energy can be used to transened the negative in life. Through music.i hear God speaking through these people. Happy 75 years musical legend Mr. Bob Marley! Your music will bring your people joy and happiness for centuries! And so we sing in our hearts your Redemption Song!
The power of his music is a spiritual blessing
Dear Tuff Gong,
I am a huge Bob Marley fan.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
A 14 year old Bob Marley fan.
Wise boy. Greetings from Argentina!

His voice was so pure and sweet 🤍 transcendental.
This song is gonna be in everyone’s heart forever

His music will never die. I believe that in the year 4000 people will still listen to Bob Marley.
We can only hope, the furture generations will might need it more than we do now.
Hope you're right. For it means that humankind is still human.
We hope it won't be the machines listening to Bob Marley by then, cause more and more humans are getting dumber these days
Hell yeah as long as the devil is alive!!!

Aye man he loves you too bro ❤
My first Bob Marley cassette was borrowed from my dad. I heard his song on a commercial and it resonnated. Been a fan since 13 years. My dads been gone too long and the grief never leaves. Marley cheers me up. But not loss of love.
Amazing! My experience with this song is also listening to it in my dads car while he drove me to school. Now it’s one of my all time greatests
So sorry! God bless you.

It moves me, yet makes me melancholy, when I listen today to songs that were everywhere around, in my head continuously, when I was a youngster. Today, I listen to them, and appreciate how great and prescient they really are. Listen well. Blessings to you all.
Thank you! I really needed to hear this right now! Going through tough times, but Bob's songs always make me happy & remind me of my beautiful angel mum💗She loved his songs so much & made me love them too.. She's now been my angel since 2012, but I feel so very close to her when i hear his songs. They're like messages from her, especially when im going through hard times. I chose three little birds as her funeral song & it always seems to pop up on shuffle when I need it the most! R.I.P Bob & Mum You both were true legends that still live on for me & always will 💗💙🙏
