- Det blev ett ja, ja jaaa, skrattade kronprinsessan Victoria när hennes Daniel berättade om frieriet ute i det fria. Det nyförlovade paret berättade vid en presskonferens på slottet om hur deras kärlek växt fram ur vänskap och om hur de förberett sig för livet i offentligheten.
Crown princess Victoria and her fiance Daniel Westling talks about their engagement. The couple have been together for several years and on the 24th of february 2009 the engagement between the two was a fact. Daniel says: Like everyone can understand this is a very big and important day for crown princess Victoria and me. And its with great joy we look forward to our life together. I will try to support Victoria as much as I can in her important work for Sweden. I hope that I will gain the trust of the Swedish people and I will do my best to live up to that trust.
Question: Why did it take seven tears for you to get engaged?
Victoria says: Sometimes, and for some people, it takes a while and we have felt that we need all this time. Now we know eachother really well, and I belive thats a good thing.
Question: How did you propose, Daniel?
Daniel says: It was a lovely day at Drottningholm, the sun was shining and I got down on my knees. I was nervous of course, I was hoping for a yes but I was not sure what she would answer.
Victoria says: And my answer was yes, yes, yes, yees!
Daniel and Victoria say that they didnt fall in love immeditly. They were friends at first and then their feelings for eachother grew.
Daniel says: We have a pefect chemistry.
Victoria says: With Daniel I feel safe and secure. And we have a lot of fun together.

Even if I don’t understand the language, you see in their voice, face, body language that they are really in love. Despite their weeding and title (future title for him), they went trough a lot physically: anorexia, dislexia for her and kidney sickness and transplant for him. They stick together trough all this and impose their love to the royal family who was supposedly against it (I don’t see why because the king married a German commoner...)but they won and are now happily married.

Not only will Daniel Westling be prince of Sweden, he will also have the title duke of Västergötland (a dukedom and landscape in southwest Sweden). One reporter asks him what he knows about this part of Sweden..and, as we all know that Daniel is a very uneducated lad who´s only ambition is to play golf and such, he answers with some embarrassment; Well, what do I know about Västergötland? Eh..that´s a good question..eh..
