As a 22yr vet professional barber, free hand cuts takes skills. That so called spatula is a flat-top taper, it was mostly common throughout the 80's and 90's. My buddy D and I have a business together, we don't just have a shop but we do "house calls", catering to the elderly and the disabled, those that physically can not come to a barbershop to get a cut.
