No one ever wrote a song about my precious Dad, but someone should have done. He died 20years ago last month but every day I think of him my lovely Dad.
Back in the day when people were actually proud of having blue (or green) eyes...and wanted to see those eyes on their children, same as on their grandparents.
The only actress ever to do more than one movie with Elvis. She did three movies with him, "Girl Happy", "Spinout", and "Clambake". Simple beauty no matter the hair color or style.
When I first listtened to this song back in the early 1960's as a little boy this is one of the songs that stuck in my mind and favorite for me. I'm in my mid 60's now and hope I hear this song when I ascend into heaven. Music today that young people are listening to since the 1990's are so evil and vile; most of it condescending, racist, sexist and anti-social.
It simply is not possible today, to even begin to appreciate just how big this song was back in the Spring of '62. I was 15 y/o, a 2nd semester Sophomore in Denver, at South High School. ------This song, on then KTLN, 1250 AM, was SO big, IT SEEMED TO BE PLAYED EVERY 30 MINUTES ! In Denver, it was the #2 song of the year on KTLN. --------David Rose's hit song, " The Stripper", was #1 in Denver that year. It seemed to me that at South High, EVERY girl, was singing this song ! But then, there had to be 100 songs written about guys named " Johnny ". VERY popular name ! --------I have the 45, & I admit it------I liked it then, & do so still, today in 2024. It's just a great song. Recorded at Gold Star, with The Blossoms on back-up, & with The Wrecking Crew. 60's teen angst, at it's very best. -------------MJL, 77 y/o
It sold over one million records when it came out and a couple million more over the years. So happy for her and she had a wonderful career. This classic will always be around.
This is for me, the best song she ever sang. She sounds so sincere as she sings the lyrics, and the song is a dreamy song, appropriate to a young girl like she was then, and still one of my favorites, through the years.
Shelley Fabares was born on January 19, 1944 and celebrated her 79th birthday yesterday, January 19, 2023. She was on "The Donna Reed Show" (1958-1963) and the sitcom "Coach" (1989-1997) which earned her two Primetime Emmy Awards nominations. Her recording of "Johnny Angel" reached number one (#1) on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on April of 1962. It was a certified Gold Record, selling over a million copies. I was in eight grade at Miami Springs Junior High School when this song was popular
When teen girls in that era were respectable. I was a little boy in 1962 which was the year meand my late father took me to my first car show....The New York International Auto Show of 1962 at the New York Coliseum at Columbus Circle in Manhattan. 😊
To Mr David Tizler: Bravo to You Mister Maestro, for putting Such a Great Video Tribute Together about MS Shelley Fabre s. I'm now Fast approaching My 65th Birthday in September of 2023, and Although Miss Fabre s was Ten years Older than I. IT was First Seeing Her on the Donna Reed Show in the Mid Sixty's? That I acquired My First Crush on a Girl, and it was Her. Cuz watching every Episode of that Great Show? Was almost a Perfect day or Devine Intervention of a Sorts, for My Two Older Sister's and Me. OH the Thoughts 🤔🤔 I would Conger Up thinking of Her being Our Babysitter Until My Oldest Sister of Four years could Watch my other Sister, & I while Our Parents were Out. On an Occasional Date for Themselves. YEAH 👍👍 those Year's, and the Time's we're Almost Like a Dream now, with the TV, Program's we had, the Excellent Music 🎵🎶, of So many Type's & the Violent Conflicts, & Element's of the WORLD we're So Far beyond The Entire North American Continent. I was born in 1972 but even so I did remember her from TV shows…she was on the love boat I know once for sure maybe more.but whenever I would see her on whatever show she was on I always thought she was so Beautiful….
You did a great job capturing the spirit of a time that is gone forever. Today's youth think that it was made up but it was very real for us who were there.
Back in the day when there were only three TV stations, this beautiful and talented young lady captured the hearts of entire families all over the world Only 3 ;in the usa than! The world is and was bigger than that! And all over the world?? Duh!! Americans are so …..
I played this song endlessly until my sister unlocked her door to stop it and I went in and took my typewriter back. Unfortunately our relationship has soured from that point
If you remember the tv show "Little People" about a pediatrician in Hawaii played by Brian Keith she was on it . I can't remember if she was related to him and/or a nurse for him. But in one episode she was rocking a bikini!!!
Harper, every guy in school would have crawled a mile over broken glass to get close to her because she was so beautiful. I watched the Donna reed show every week just to see her!
Now, this is of course, only MY opinion, but The Donna Reed Show was a VERY notable exception. As pretty & cute as Shelly Fabares was, it was Donna Reed, who was THE babe of babes--------hottie of hotties, -------IMO. She was gorgeous ! -------------MJL, 77 y/o

What a beautiful person. She has always been a class act.

Everyone knows that
I'm 66 - she was beyond gorgeous - way wholesome song and girl - sadly doesn't exist today
and certainly did other things whit Elvis too
Shelley's looks & gorgeous voice define what Elegance is.

@ Pauley, yes I'm 69 now and was about 8 when this song hit the charts! We were lucky to KNOW great and innocent songs like this back then!

She is a beautiful woman and such a great voice and smile ❤❤❤❤
Her voice was over produced because it wasn’t really that great.
drop dead gorgeous.(still).....a true american beauty
Oh the simple beauty that girls strived for and so wonderfully shown on Shelley. Great show- great times… I miss that!
I'm 74 years-old, and you ain't the only one who misses those days.
THIS is what drop dead gorgeous looks like. DAMN!!! I'm in HEAVEN just looking at her!! There is no way I would be 'putty' in her hands! LOL!

Shelly is one of my favorite people in show business.
Fell deeply in love (crush) on the Donna Reed show. When this song came out it was the topper . Now I'm seventy four and she still flutters my heart.
Yup... She is one of my youthful crushes, along with Patty Duke. And I'm 74 also..
I fell in love with Shelley and music.
Boy, I had a big crush on her growing up.

The scenes of Shelly with Elvis are from the song / video 'Puppet on a string' from the 1965 movie 'Girl Happy.' It's here in color on UA-cam.

Shelly is one of those actresses/singers who got better looking with age.
I don’t agree , respectfully : I loved her best around 1962😊
Watch her in "Brian's Song"...... a real tear jerker.
うちのママは世界一❤️🍀😌🍀大好きでしたね😃ママはなかったよ美人さんで

She is supposedly singing about Johnny Crawford on the rifleman show.
Shelley fabares was a close friend of Annette funicello. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
@@harperstacey9604 Annette was the Madonna of the 1950’s. She was the queen of our generation. She was it!
@@JamesJones-bd1jg she was the girl next door and america's sweetheart.
Harper, every guy in school would have crawled a mile over broken glass to get close to her because she was so beautiful. I watched the Donna reed show every week just to see her!
Very interesting. Tell me where and how did you hear of that with Johnny Crawford? 🤔
If my boomer memory serves me well, Shelley married record producer Lou Adler.
Krotko byl malzenstwem po ok. 2 latach sie rozstali,a rozwod Shelley wziela w 1980 r.
She is definitely one of the prettiest women we’ve ever seen…!
SHE LOOKS LIKE MY COUSIN WHEN SHE WAS YOUNGER
One of your clips was Donna Reed , not Shelley.
Once the gravity problem is solved there will be no limits.

Mike Farrell is a very luck man.
I was linking this until the Elvis look alike at the end…
Shes got a bit of Helen Hunt about her.
Seem to remember Karen Carpenter doing a version?
Why her eyes are painted as if they were blue if she has beautiful brown eyes ?
Ona w rzeczywistosci ma szary kolor oczu
Sick from flu shot again
She is married to mike farrell in real life to bj honey cut from mash
Sometimes she looks exactly like Kristen Dunst.
Um.....what ?
