In defense of the F35, when used for ITS intended purpose, F35 shouldn't even be seen or detected. Stealth in, drop payload, stealth out. Target down with no clue what hit it. That's how the F35 was supposed to be used and should be used. Not saying F16 is bad but saying F35 losing against F16 in a dogfight, thats just putting the wrong engagement scenario for the wrong aircraft.
Not to mention the fact that if it so chose, the F-35 would kill that Viper from a long, long, long distance. The Viper would never get close enough to the F-35 to dogfight it.

It's not that the F-16 is a bad airplane--or the F-35 for that matter--it's how those platforms are used. When playing the enemy's game by the enemy's rules, expect to lose. Giving a smart enemy the initiative means that the enemy gets to stack the deck in his favor.

They should focus on buying more latest versions of the Teen series like the F16 Viper, FA18 E/F Super Hornets and F15E Strike Eagle or the latest version. Indonesia has no plan to buy F-16 block 70/72 and more likely to buy F-15EX.
