  • The leader of Rise Mzansi Songezo Zibi has officially unveiled the party's manifesto in Pretoria.
The People's Manifesto speaks to issues including growing the economy, creating jobs and alleviating poverty.
Zibi called on party delegates to be active citizens and to work to change the country's status quo. Since its establishment in April last year, Rise Mzansi has been on a mission to engage urban and rural communities across South Africa.
Political analyst, Professor Ntsikelelo Breakfast from the Center for Security, Peace and Conflict Resolution at Nelson Mandela University weighs in on the Rise Mzansi Election Manifesto.

He specifically spoke about R350. . . I can tell you right now that 99.9999% of young people would prefer to get permanant work instead of R350 grant. . . . I'm glad they are not approaching these matters like career politicians who says whatever gets them votes. At the moment we need someone who will call Spade a Spade. . . .not someone who speaks in riddles.

Zibi never stated that grants make people lazy.
The Professor misrepresented what he said .
Infact if you listen to the speach made at the launch of the manifesto he said he supported the introduction of job seekers grants to enable people to look for work and food vouchers for those suffering from hunger.
Rise Mzanzi would not stop grants for those who need them and are unable to work.
The piont he was making was that is that if the economy continues to detriorate under the ANC there will not be adequate funding for grants..
Secondly he presented a raft of sugestions on how to grow the economy so that those who can work are able to do so.
He simply stated that he believes that many South Africans given the chance would rather work the recieve a grant .
It is a scare tactic used by the ANC that they are the only party who will suply grants
It is shameful how they use this to prey on yhe most vulnerable while enrriching themselves.

Criticising social grants without a substantive plan to avoid starvation the moment the social grant is repealed is tantamount to announcing that your donors and the DA's donors are the same.
If you were under the impression things were at their worst, I invite you to vote DA and their subsidiaries.

What? Rise Mzansi is NOT anti social grants
What are the key priorities of RISE Mzansi’s new leaders?
    1. We will fix our economy to create jobs and make it work for the people. This will include:
    a. Tackling violent crime: people cannot open or run businesses and create jobs when they will get robbed or killed.
    b. We will fix Eskom to power our economy.
    c. We will put solar power in every home, for cheaper electricity.
    d. We will provide low-cost capital to black and women-owned
    enterprises to transform our economy.
    e. We will prioritise support for small businesses and
entrepreneurs in the farming, agriculture, mining, tourism, and
    manufacturing industries.
    2. We will place 1 million additional young people in training in five years to
give them the skills to access opportunity.
    3. We will fight for single mothers to have tax relief for things such as paying
for day care, baby formula, cereals, and other essentials.
    4. We will not allow any South African to go to bed hungry: we will fight for
monthly food vouchers for those without food. We will fight for piped water for those who want to grow their own food or build their own home. We will fight for discounts on selected food items for SASSA grant recipients.
    5. We will win the battle against crime and insecurity: We will ensure that the corrupt are removed from the job of keeping us safe and employ real professionals who can look after our families and be trusted by the people.
    6. We will prosecute corruption, fix government finances, and spend responsibly so that government can continue to afford to pay social grants and look after the vulnerable people in our society.
    7. We will ensure the people govern: we will therefore introduce reforms that fix parliament, the government, municipalities, and state-owned enterprises. Leaders of all institutions must be capable, ethical, and accountable to the people. We will place all collapsing, corrupt municipalities under national government administration. We will also make sure that people elect Members of Parliament from their communities.
RISE Mzansi is for the people and by the people. We have new leaders who
