They both have the same style with quick atack reatack but Burroughs is king and you won't beat him at his own game.

The Canadian wrestler had no clear intent, or idea how he was going to initiate and attack. The one time he tried to take a contact control position with the 2 on 1, he let Burroughs take the inside head position and maintained his own extended body position. What good was that? Sorry Dave and Tonya, (the Canadian coaches) your break instructions were either not listened to, or ignored by Balfour. It looked like he was wrestling not to get 10 pointed. Which out of some pity respect, Burroughs never tried to do. Sad.

    • @CoachTMAC

yugioh1o1 - I was being polite in my comment. Prove me wrong!
Describe one actual demonstration of a technique attempted correctly or even at a high school level. Seriously.
This Canadian champ just goes to show you how far from adequate Canada has become being successful in international men’s wrestling. In the last ten years there was one fifth place at a senior men’s world championships. That was because he lost to someone who made the finals. The last time Canada medaled at a world’s was in 2001. They immigrated to Canada In the 2000 Olympics Canada won Gold, they also immigrated.
The last time Canada had a home grown world medallist in Men’s wrestling was 1992, when a heavy weight won a silver medal. That is twenty-seven year ago.
Without the inclusion of women’s wrestling at the Olympics, the Canadian sport of wrestling would have eroded away.
Because of the so-called success of women’s wrestling the men’s programs took a backseat and it’s been a mess ever since then. Which seems strange because we have had almost the same people running the programs the whole time.
I will wait for you intelligent reply.

@@CoachTMAC I do agree with the fact canadian wrestling isnt on the level of other countries such as usa, Russia,Iran and they haven't been competitive for a while. However, I do think the canadian wrestler far exceeds the level of a high school wrestler and did display some good technique in the first period especially when he shot the blast double which was stuffed (because borroughs has crazy defense). But yeah I wrestled in canada and would agree that the level of competiiton has fallen off especially in recent years but also consider canada has less population and the sport isnt as popular here as other countries. (Less clubs, opportunities to wrestle)

If you understand high level wrestling you know this was a lame match. Burroughs should have steamrolled Balfour but didn't know better and his own style doesn't necessitate that. And Balfour was just excited to be out there with his hero and had no real intention of competing.
