Karbala Incident or Waqai Karbala is remembered as the sacrifice day of Imam Hussain and his followers on 10 Muharram.
Imam Hussain was the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad. Hussain's father, serving Caliph Hazrat Ali, was martyred in the Kufa city. Hazrat Hasan, the elder brother of Imam Hussain, succeeded his father. Hazrat Hasan was poisoned and passed away. Imam Hussain became the head of his tribe, Banu Hashim. Yazid became Caliph after passed away of his father
Imam Hussain did not accept Yazid's Succession to Muawiyah
He considered Yazid ineligible and, it was against the peace treaty, signed between Hazrat Hasan and Muawiyah
Imam Hussain left Madina City and stayed in Makkah for about four months. The people of Kufa invited Imam Hussain and assured their loyalty. Imam Hussain started the journey to Kufa with a small caravan.

It's a very good video but few important points to be mentioned :
> Imam Hussain and his whole family and companions were thirsty and hungry from 3 days.
> When Imam Hussain was left alone, his wife informed him about the thirst of his 6 months old son (Ali Asghar), then Imam Hussain took that baby (Ali Asghar) and came to the battlefield, he asked Yazidi forces to give some water to his baby, Ali Asghar as the baby was in a very bad condition due to dehydration. But those Tyrants didn't give him water but shooted an arrow on the throat of the baby, Ali Asghar...this is how that 6 months old baby Ali Asghar received martyrdom and he is among the famous 72 martyrs of Karbala.
> Hazrat Abbas (Imam Hussain's brother) was killed when he was trying to take water for women and children who were thirsty from 3 days. He got chance but didn't drink water despite being thirsty plus his horse also didn't drink water, that's why he's famous for his loyalty and known as "Shahenshah e Wafa" (Emperor of Loyalty). Also when he was gonna die, Imam Hussain came to help him but Hazrat Abbas's last wish was "not to be taken back to the camps as he had promised little children to return only with water".
> Except 72 martyrs, there were many other children plus women who died in Karbala, or I must say that they were killed by the cruelty of Yazidi forces.
A 6 years old nephew of Imam Hussain whose name was Muhammad ibn Abu Saeed was murdered by Yazidi soldiers when the child was trying to save his mother and aunts. His mom was Imam Hussain's sister (Lady Maymunah maybe), and his father (Abu Saeed ibn Aqeel) was Imam Hussain's cousin (Cousin marriages have been very common in Arab culture).
> Shimr (A Yazidi Commander) snatched the earrings of Imam Hussain's little daughter in such way that her ears started bleeding.
> Lady Zainab (Imam Hussain's sister) played a key role by giving speeches on various spots about her brother's honesty and martyrdom plus about Yazid's cruelty. Thanks to Lady Zainab the world today knows about Imam Hussain. Many women and children died during the journey of captives from Karbala to Kufa to Shaam (Damascus).
And the people of Shaam harrassed and bully the captives by throwing stones on them and by laughing at them.
> The women and children were taken captives and very few male members were left in Banu Hashim (Imam Hussain's Clan), Ali ibn Hussain (Imam Hussain's eldest son, also known as Zain ul Abideen plus the "successor of Imam Hussain" as the next Imam) who was very ill, Hasan Al Muthanna (Imam Hussain's nephew, Imam Hasan's eldest son) who was highly injured and Zaid ibn Hasan (Imam Hasan's another son) were the only Male survivor. Lady Zainab saved her nephew Ali ibn Hussain from the burning tent and enemies.
> Imam Hussain's youngest daughter (Ruqayyah) who was just 4 years old died in Damascus ruins (where captives were kept) because of Yazidi forces brutality and devastation of her Father's martyrdom.

Even a non-Muslim would read this and be inspired by Imam Husayn and his companions. None of them deserted him till their death and Husayn didn't give up his stand until his martyrdom.
The signs of Allah's love for a person are as follows :
1. When Allah loves someone he puts them under trials ( the more righteous they are, the harder the trials) in order to purify them.
2. When Allah loves someone, he gives them the"understanding" of the religion of Islam.
3. Whomever Allah loves, he deviates them and their heart from disobedience and sins..

In my humble opinion, it's not that Muslims have forgotten Karbala or the sacrifice of Imam Hussein AS. It's that we have learnt to mourn the loss of Imam Hussein RA and his blessed family but not the ultimate lesson of his sacrifice. Muslims have not learned to ease the suffering of millions of their brothers and sisters who're undergoing their own Karbalas today. We simply pray and hope they'll be fine. We as a community, have not actively supported those of us undergoing immense suffering. Most of our scholars have become mere spreaders of hate or polemics, not leaders taking a firm stand and inspiring Muslims. Our community's priority is primarily limited to building masaajid, not in building coalitions to politically support Muslims throughout the world in their need. Muslims who had once discovered incredible marvels of the universe and invented amazing contraptions are reduced to such lows that education itself is a conspiracy to them.When Muslims abandoned their beautiful tradition of seeking and valuing knowledge as well as displaying tolerance towards others, our downfall began. Thank you to the creator of this video. It's extremely informative. We must all remember including myself that Imam Hussein AS won't be happy if we only cry for his enormous sacrifice and that of his family centuries ago while allowing innocent people to be slaughtered under our watch.

Now Mr Nasbi a simple google search will reveal to you that a human on foot can travel 15km in 3hrs and Hazart imam Hussain (AS) travel in small caravan with horses/camels which greatly reduces time of travel. By those details, one we can easily conclude, they could reach Karbala in 24 days.
