Thanks for reviewing both PXG drivers. I do not think anyone else has done so. I play the PXG Gen 5 driver. It is the only driver I've hit that took my much beloved Callaway Epic Flash out of my hands. I think that for the last 1-2 years, PXG has been part of the discussion of who makes the best drivers, fairway woods and hybrids. Great video. Keep them coming. We all love to see your videos and we all want you to succeed.
I got the new black ops after being fitted. Gained 15 yds consistently and it’s pretty straight. Come to find out the epic flash I bought off the shelf 5 years ago the shaft wasn’t even close to what I needed. Had a great fitter who listened and it helped watching all the content Matty’s been on over the years on the questions and answers to get through on a fitting.
I recently received my PXG Tour-1 and it is far and away the best and my favorite driver I've ever hit. My results though a little less distance than Matt are very similar overall. Spin is definitely kept in check with off center strikes and the dispersion is fantastic!
Thanks for the review Matty. I did the PXG driver challenge at the new PXG East Bay store in California and the Black Ops beat my TSR4. Carlo fitted me for the Black Ops driver, and I consistently hit it longer with a nice fade. I'm a believer and there's no turning back. Thanks PXG!
I also have a custom fit 8* TSR4. Both PXG heads look great from address. I was fitted with the Ventus Blue XS Velocore shaft and the #’s on the standard Black Ops driver were better for me. The fitting process was very exact. The secret ingredient were the weights they put in the heel, toe and back of the head. It’s now totally custom fit for me and no one else.
I commented on "the channel that shall not be named" that the blacks ops is one of if not the best sounding drivers on the market. I can't wait to try it out
Matt, idk if you do comparisons, but I’d love to see the old G400 Max that you used to use vs the g430 max 10k. I think it’d be interesting since the g400max was 9900 moi
Saw similar gains in clubhead speed, ball speed, and carry (along with the drop in spin) when I tested it against my Gen4 gamer. The Tour-1 is no joke.
Quick question - how does the adjustable weights affect the swing and ultimately the shot? What would you recommend for the weight distribution? Asking for a friend… 😉
Great video. Finally someone who demonstrates/examines clubs within the same manufacture. Would the PXG Tour 1 work the same for a swing speed in the 95-100mph? Love the more compact head on the Tour 1. Thanks
If you're delivering the club properly and hitting it flush, any driver on the market will work. And it will spin less with a slower swing speed. If you're cutting across the ball and slicing 80 yards, or pull hooking it, there isn't one single piece of equipment on the face of this planet or any other planet that will magically fix that.
That standard Black Ops driver is a little more upright at 60deg lie angle similar to Callaway Max D and Rogue ST MAX, most other drivers including the Black Ops Tour are 58.5 or 59deg lie angle.
At the Atlanta PXG store, the Black OPS driver beats my Taylormade Sim 2 Max but pretty much 50 yards. I ordered one, gonna see if it is real in the golf course :)
I tried the standard black ops. Performance is great but the sound and especially the feel are not to my liking. You used the word hard to describe feel. Totally agree. It felt like hitting a rock with a 2x4.
If standard black ops is 10k, how much MOI would the Tour version be putting out? I’d like to see similar comparison of Ping and TM 10k models vs their LS versions.
Can't say I've hit the TSR4, but probably fairly similar numbers based on the design. The Tour-1 is as low spin as just about anything I've tried though
Hey Matt, do you offer fitting for the black ops like at your store? I’m tempted to go to the Detroit store for fitting but their shaft matrix for people who swing like us is lacking. I’d love to come out for a fitting if you’re offering this stuff?
@@GolfLiberty if I order in the heads, can I come to you to refit the shafts? They are still fitting using the original Ventus shafts, and I’ve been playing TR since its release and would be excited to try the new line of the velocore too. I put the axioms in and love those.
As a former baseball player we really don't have anyone else on UA-cam e can turn to for assessing driver performance so someone swinging at 125mph swing is greatly appreciated. Although I do remember Matt being skilled enough to dial it back to 95 and 105mph when doing autoflex driver shaft reviews with Ian over at TXG.
Tour average is 114. 😂 Guys with Matt's level of speed are the market for the Tour-1. Most of PXG's tour staff are playing the regular model. The Tour-1 is not a general public model; it's there to compete with Callaway triple diamond.
@@canyonaropretty sure it's quite a bit higher than that now. 113 mph was from trackman data way back in 2013. The last decade I bet it's jumped up closer to 118. Wish trackman would update their data
If you're swinging slower than what he is and delivering the club the exact same way as in this video, it's quite simple. EVERY NUMBER WILL BE LOWER. CARRY DISTANCE. SPIN. BALL SPEED. TOTAL DISTANCE. I can't tell if these comments are people being trolls or they just have the iq of someone who's completely brain dead.
Frankly speaking, who is this driver for ? For loggers with a 123mph club speed and a 300miles carry distance ? Maybe a more convincing test would be with an average speed golfer. Maybe........
@@marc6652 soo it’s totally fine for you to watch that on another channel if it’s what you’re looking for. Would be happy to refer you, actually there’s a guy named the average golfer he reviews pxg, good guy, check it out. People watch my channel because I swing fast, can’t please everyone 🤷
the issue with various reviews is that players such as Matt can hit anything , therefore to see the benefit of a 10k driver you need an actual 8-12 handicapper if not higher to review this. Matt can slow his swing speed down but his swing is that consistent it doesnt give real feedback on forgiveness
Ultimately, that 8-12 handicapper should get fit anyways, not just base it off of some other person swinging. Not all 8-12 handicappers deliver the club to the ball in the same way.
Have you not seen his old videos where he intentionally manipulates his delivery and strike to showcase drivers’ forgiveness? The guy can do virtually anything with a club in his hands.
Find a shaft that suits you. The variation is dramatic in a shaft. The difference in what head you put on that shaft is inconsequential. Shaft and hosel options make differences. Not the head.

Matty pumping out the content, love to see it!
Thanks for the session on Saturday, it was great to meet you. Book an appointment and go see this man!

I play the TSR4 too, 8deg head. Did you get fit into the tour or standard Black Ops?

They are a great staff in Dublin
Glad to see you putting out videos Matt!!

both look really solid your swing is in cruise control well done.
Good review. Two weeks ago I did a fitting for a LH 7 wood. Great experience. I received my club in 7 business days.

Great video and review. We need a video with PXG Black ops -1 driver paired with AutoFlex and Proxima. We want to see some crazy bombs!
What a honest review. Is there a preferred spin rate for a driver? Thank you

Awesome Matt. 👍. As you said at the beginning, the advertising has put me off for a long time. Good to see they are performing well.
Great review. I play the standard Black Ops, which is long and accurate, and I can move it both ways.
Really enjoying the channel. Keep it up!
Can you do a review of the woods too. I haven’t seen anyone review those yet.
Those are just beautiful frozen ropes! Love the push draw
Great video and review. That tour looks awesome.
Great review. Can you get higher launch by lofting up and not lose distance.

If you’re a higher spin player it could be worth trying

BTW, the videos are getting better and better. Awesome, Matt.
Holy guacamole! Your ball speed went through the roof with the tour model, wow!
yeah holy
HEY MATTY good to see ya well done be safe and be well cheers from Vulcan Canada

Thanks Matt. Great unbiased review.
Matt, do you think people should loft up on the -1 model? Let’s say someone who plays a 9 degree tsr3 or Qi10?
At the Atlanta PXG store, the Black OPS driver beats my Taylormade Sim 2 Max but pretty much 50 yards. I ordered one, gonna see if it is real in the golf course :)

Matt, great video, what golf shoe is that that you’re wearing? They look spikeless and give great support 👍🏻
Puma
Great job Matt !💪
The PXG driver line has been really impressive!
Matt is the autoflex a good shaft for tsr2? Just picked up the autoflex for my tsr2, i got a super deal on one from facebook marketplace.
What software is that? I have standard FSX 2020. That doesn't appear to be FSX Live - but is still Foresight. Thanks!
What is your flex in that TR Matt?
6X
Hey Matt! How would it compare to the TSI4 or TSR4? Great job with your channel
Can't say I've hit the TSR4, but probably fairly similar numbers based on the design. The Tour-1 is as low spin as just about anything I've tried though
I definitely didn’t see that when I tried it. My ball speed was super slow. The fitter couldn’t believe how slow it was.
Sometimes you just don't get along with a certain driver. 🤷♂️
@@canyonaro yep I agree. Smash factor was 1.41-1.43 with contact within mm of center of the face.
Have you tried the 10° head to get similar numbers to your gamer if it launches so low?
the low launch is my swing, I'm not hitting up on it much

Hey Matt, was the shaft tipped at all?
nope
@@GolfLiberty thank you, been really enjoying the content
Does the 8 degree loft all the way down to 6 degrees?
Down to 6.5
I can’t wait to try the Black Ops driver challenge and see if it’s better than my TSR3
I did it this weekend with my Epic Speed TD, I hit my driver further but I did hit the PXG tighter.
When do we get the real bracket?!
I'm working on a few ideas
That tour head has that big FU ball in it for sure but stays in play ! I think PXG is going to sell a lot of those this year
You don't like the ads? You don't want your club buying experience to feel like a scene from Full Metal Jacket?
Awesome
Wow. Black ops looks legit legit 😮
It’s better when u test them out in the field…
If they got away from the cheeseball naming and model numbering on everything, their clubs would look soooo clean.
"despite getting on a lot of people's nerves...". 🤣I can't hit mute or change the channel fast enough.
BOOM, BABY! 🤦
cool to see their redemption arc
Hey first time watching , I don’t think you are representing the general public
123 swing speed that’s tour level . ????

He swings right handed too-- but around 95mph. Hopefully he gets into RH golf again.
The forgiveness hes attaining has to do with the way he delivers the club through impact. Not what he's swinging.
