Btw, the button on the bottom of the melodica is a spit valve, I believe. For those who don’t know, a spit valve takes the excess spit collected from the instrument. Just press down on the small button on the back side of the melodica, and it gets the spit out. I’m pretty that’s what it’s for. It works for me.
Молодец! Уложился в 4 минуты! Я думал, найду здесь простой способ, как почистить старую мелодику от окислов и ржавчины, вернув былой вид. А тут - протереть сухой тряпочкой новый инструмент! Yes it's a secret😀
I’m about to purchase a used melodica. I see how to clean it. I wish to sanitize it as well. Can I use isopropyl alcohol on the inside and on the reeds? Or will I damage something? Thx
A key in my melodica has gone down and doesnt come up.It is stucked.everytime when i play a song the sound of that key is emitted.Cant stop. How can i fix that key again normal as other keys?
Blow through the valve to clean then take mouthpiece off and shake to get last bits of moisture out. Don’t put straight back in Carry case after playing, let the melodica dry out overnight.
The reeds on a melodica are extremely thin and fragile. You probably bent a bunch of them by accident without even realizing it. To be honest I would never do what this guy did with a melodica.

how often should you clean it?
Melodica should be cleaned once a month, and the period varies according to use.
