Thank-you for this video. I always wondered if you should or could use 2 layers of insulbright. And, I loved the idea of using the 2 layers of batting! Thanks, again. I guess I need to make a supply of pot holders!
I think in this case you could. I don’t use it, but ik a lot of people love it and have great success. This is not a heavy project so you should be fine; but give it a test run.
What temp has your polyester or rayon thread tolerated for your pot holders? I bake bread so sometimes oven temps are high and concerned about melting my thread. Any thing you can share about temps not to exceed when using those threads for potholders?
Your best bet is to use Rayon thread. I have no idea what temp as I haven’t tested threads in that way. Rayon thread does not burn the way poly does. It may be a good thing for you to do a test so that you know. If you do, let me know what you find. 😊
Thanks so much for doing this video! (And thanks for the shout-out!). One thing I was wondering is how to add an embroidery design to one side of the potholder… I wanted to use an OESD design, if possible. Is there a step I would do in between the others to add it before sewing the two sides together? Maybe the design replaces the quilting?
Couldn't you just do the design on the fabric ahead of time in machine embroidery. Then when you do your tack down stitch the design is already there on one side of your fabric.
Are you wanting to use woven fabric with batting? I’m not sure I understand; i apologize, my Russian isn’t very good yet! Thank you for clarifying for me! I’m very interested in if you’re in Russia? I am hoping to visit soon to improve my fluency. 😊
Thank Melinda for another great tutorial. Love what you do.💜❤
Thank you kindly, Caroline! 🤗
Such a great project and video! Thank you so much, Melinda!🧡
You’re most welcome!
Love the way you stopped the machine mid stitch so it wouldn't stitch the design path twice. I didn't realize you could do that! Awesome!
It’s very helpful in reducing bulk for sure! 😊
Great video. I’m new to IQ designer. I will be trying this. Thanks for step by step. Time 12:00 pm
You’re welcome 😊

What a great project! Thanks so much for the detailed instructions! Can’t wait to make this!
So happy to hear that, Cynthia! Please let me know how it turns out!
Another great video! Thanks for this, I played with this today!
I had to use four small insulbrite in one layer/Frankie batting style. Fun practice.
Thank you! Good for you! So many fun things to make and not nearly enough time! 😂
Adorable pot holder! ❤
Ty! 🤗
Fantastic how you went through each step!
Love your fabric!
Thank you for sharing!
Thank you, my friend! Holiday time is always fun stitching time. 🤗
Love this! Thank you!
🤗
Love this Great Project, thanks🥰
You’re welcome, Rita!
Hi Melinda! I loved this project! Could you have used a tear away stabilizer instead of no show mesh?? Thanks for the tutorial!

I always only stitch around once, except for the batting or insulbrite. I like to stitch around twice since I’m trimming.
I agree!
Thank you!
You’re most welcome!
Pretty. Polyester thread?

You can add your design before you quilt. You’ll need to add the fill/quilting around the design so it doesn’t quilt over the top.
@@yvonnepuening3125that’s a good idea. Definitely an option. Thank you!
Pretty. Polyester thread? Thanks
Yes, but if you’re burning the satin stitches I would use rayon.
On your designs what size needles are you using..thank you
90/14 for most of my embroidery.
What foot height do you use with 4 layers of batting
I really don’t ever change my foot height.
Why not use a tack spray to hold the bottom layer in place?
You certainly can.
What size needle? 90/14?
Yes, 90/14 is best.
Как не экономно вы используете флизелин, ткань и наполнитель. Очень большие куски остаются по бокам … А прихватка хорошая получилась.
